Not to worry about any thumbs down (but I see there isn't any). I am so grateful for Arne's instruction on Norwegian knitting and purling. I persisted in trying to learn it about a year ago and now I am very comfortable with it and it has improved my knitting so much. As Arne said, once you get the purl down, it is like a dance.
I’ve recently discovered your wonderful videos. After watching a few, I was able to quickly learn the Norwegian knit and purl techniques that Arne has demonstrated. Being able to knit this way is a life changer for me because I have severe rheumatoid arthritis. The Norwegian method is very ergonomic and I experience far less hand pain. Thank you for all that you do and for showing me that I can knit again. I’m also a dog lover and very much enjoy your fearless moose hunter, Freya😊
I just started a pair of socks with K1, P1 rib but will rip out and start again with the twisted knit rib. Always inspired by you both! Lots of love from Canada. I was part of the late Toronto bus in St. Thomas, Ontario last Dec. and you were so kind to us all. 🇨🇦♥️🇳🇴
I am trying to knit like you Arne , and I am so nervous that my stitches are so tight 😊the other day I was knitting ok and all of the autonomy brain went blank🤷🏿♀️ I tried to remember and I couldn't😨you say is like a dance, for you Arne ,I will keep on practicing, be cos I am no quitter, I will master this dance my friend , and when I do I will always remember you to taught me how to knit . 😍😘😉

I am teaching myself how to knit the Norwegian way..thx Arne..thats a great rib stitch too..I have to do this because I am Norwegian and I can teach my granddaughter. I am learning new things everyday from your channel. ❤👍🤗🐾
I'm just learning to knit and I favour the Norwegian style of knitting, I find it easier. I never knew why 5 needles are sold together but after watching you, now I know why. Ty for showing this ribbing technique.
Hello good evening from a very stormy Germany😯. Your tipp is as ever very helpful. I tried it in the minute. And what a wonder: the purl stitches became much more stronger because the way of the yarn is not as long as with the other method with putting yarn in front! SUPER!!! I will do it the Norwegian way now! Thank you very much, all the best for you and the people you love. Heartly Gitta from Germany🍀😇😇🍀🌈
@@ARNECARLOS Thank you very much for your good wishes💟 yes it is horrable at some places but fortunately in our area its calm..til now... I agree with you! The twisted rib always looks so neat, tidy and the knit stitch is nicely defined. I've used it for mitten cuffs, sock cuffs and the brim of a hat, all with great success. Bring on the thumbs UP!!
I’m trying to knit your sweater Carlos but I can’t see the chart very well in the book but I love it on you and thank you Arne for showing us the twisted knit stay safe x x
You are so right Arne! What is up with a finger in the air! I’m a Swedish knitter in Iowa. You taught me the wonderful way of purling, I love it. Thank you 🙏!
Good evening to you both. Well I loved today's talk about the twisted knit stitch I have used it in the past and it is a lovely neat stitch. You are both so funny you make our Sundays so enjoyable. It was lovely to hear Freja and her imaginary moose lol. I hope you have an amazing week and hope the storm doesn't do any damage to your beautiful home. Stay warm and safe and look after each other. See you next week. Kram x
I'm looking at you do the Twisted knit😀 I think it looks very nice. I'm also seeing how you hold your yarn😁 how you keep it in one place instead of bringing the yarn to the front😉like I do, I do the Continental style knitting I bring my finger to the front with my yarn to do the pearl stitch😏 as always hello Arne & Carlito's my 2 favorite beutiful people in the world😘 thank you for another wonderful video 🤗
I love you guys and I now mostly knit true Norwegian style. I still have problems with the purl stitch though. I just need to practice more and then I will have it down.
Maybe Freya is seeing my cat name Moose! 😂😂 I recently came across you guys looking for a couple of books on Amazon called "Saltwater Mittens", about Newfoundland knit patterns and your book "Norwegian Knits with a Twist" came up in my search. I've been following you ever since. Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge and sharing some of your life and heritage.
I am doing a sock pattern that calls for this ribbing for the very top of the cuff. Initially I hated this stitch because I was fumbling so much (we call it knit through the back loop), but I’m slowly becoming okay with it. 😆 Thank you for commenting that it makes for a skinnier knit…I was having a hard time understanding WHY the pattern designer was using this stitch, but wanted to stick with it.
Thank you that was very clear , I'm going to try that on my next pair of mitts. It's always lovely to see you both laughing together ! Have a wonderful week !
I knew about the twisted knit stitch but hadn’t really seen some ribbing done with it and I really like the look of it. It might have been nice for the dog sweater that I’ve started for my son’s greyhound. Of course, I’m also wishing I had won those Prym knitting needles you gave away a while back!!! ;} Anyway, I was interested in seeing how Arne purls because I’ve noticed before that his stitch making was a little different so I’m glad for the knitting culture lesson along with his demo of it. I will give it a try. I knit my stitches the same way but I usually bring my index finger forward and then catch the purl stitch with the needle so my finger does move a little bit. I love your videos and love learning new things!! Thanks for all the teaching!
Perfect. This is exactly what I needed. I just finished knitting a pair of ankle warmers to keep my ankles warm in the winter. I like the end result (I knitted cabled ropes for the first time), but am not completely happy with the ribbed edge. So I'll try the twisted knit stitch in my next pair of ankle warmers (in a different color of course). Thank you!

Thank you for watching Kim!
It looks lovely! What kind of cast on would be ideal to use with the twisted rib?
We use the classic long tail cast on.
@@ARNECARLOS Thank you!
