oh holy epiphany! at last i found out what you are really all about, the cat was instrumental in the veil coming down from my eyes and now i can clearly see the imperfections in the grooves of my Santana Abraxas lp...
I listened and listened, but could not hear a difference between those demos 🤯 But then I had an irresistible urge to call a cab! And that’s when I realised! Untreated, accidentally treated, professionally treated! C, A, B! And it all made sense!
Very interesting how A is like listening to the instrument from 12.5’ away but B is like actually being the microphone 2’ 10” from the instrument (as it was actually recorded)… very interesting how A “screwed with the distance“ Very cool! Thank you for that!
Nope. Each one had the mic placed 9' away from the speaker @ 3ft high. Speaker was on a speaker stand in all 3 rooms and at the same height. The only differences you're hearing are the rooms.
Only just stumbled on this reviewer and I'm loving the humour. I have very poor hearing in my right ear so don't spend enormous amounts on hifi as I probably won't hear difference's in equipment. However, shockingly i not only picked the sound clip from the properly treated room but I also got the other 2 correctly. I did this whilst sitting on the toilet with only a single Bluetooth earbud in my good ear. How is that possible? Did i just get lucky or does good room treatment make such a significant improvement in sound that even i can hear the difference?
I would gladly listen to a pair of cheap Edifier powered speakers, running off of a ten year old cheap DAC in a properly treated room, then a $25,000 hifi in a room filled of hard floors and drywall. Just go into an unfinished basement and talk to yourself, it sounds awful. Big sofa's and a throw rug can work wonders.
@@scientificaudiophile I was staggered that i chose each music clip correctly so the difference pre/post room treatment must be considerable. My most expensive hi-fi equipment (of which my Tannoy XT6F Resolution speakers are the most expensive item) is in the living room but I know my girlfriend definitely wouldn't approve of room treatment! We do have 2 sofas, bookcase, carpets, thick rug and curtains so that's the best we can achieve.
I'm going on 70. I'm sitting here with my son who's going on 17 and I laughed out loud for about 1 minute, the real laugh where you start crying. The joke on pretty the button mom... Everyone you age breaks their hip. In 2022 we had a devistating super typhoon. I could only get soft drinks from a sari-sari store down the street. While i was walking on the side walk with two bottles in my hand in the dark the sidewalk ended and I went flying. 3rd word man. I should have broken something, but didn't. Knock on wood.
It was difficult to tell using my vintage Gateway 2000 Altec Lancing ACS41 2.0 PC speakers. Perhaps it’s the sound card. Do you have any suggestions to upgrade the motherboard audio from my Pentium 4? It has a crab on the chip…
Consider me weird, but I (and thats not even a joke) prefer more decay on speakers. I don't know why but it just makes the music sound bigger and more musical to me personally.
Also, good speakers virtually negate the need for lateral or vertical absorption because the directivity is good. The only thing you need to do is account for SBIR which is solved by simple absorber panels. You can EQ below 500 Hz at no consequence. In fact, having wide dispersion loudspeakers in typically reflective rooms sounds best for recreational listening.
Build it from scratch. No windows, no parallel walls (e.g. room within a room where you can frame in), coffered ceiling, heavy carpet and padding, bass traps (I used 8", two 4", Knaupf fiberblass). Test, test, test.
Danny will bad mouth every speaker on the market but he will not tolerate a single criticism of the stuff he sells. The most skilled snake oil salesmen know how to appear unbiased. He has zero tact. He will say things like, "You have a $10K speaker? That's cute, my crossover upgrade will make a Sony SSCS5 put your speakers to shame." And people gobble up his golden turds like they are truffles. 🤯 It's this strange need for people to believe that they can have world class audio with just a small investment into Danny's parts. Danny knows that damn well and slurps up all their milkshakes. He has an army of audio SIMPs, not unlike the SIMPs who send OnlyFans models their pay check every week.
B sounded louder and clear which was ez to guess that it was a treated room. C sounded straight up horrible. You can feel the music is just leaving the room in pain.

That’s a funny start. I’ve enjoyed your reviews a lot. You are funny and obviously love audio. Not that you likely care but after watching several and reading a few of you comments where you reference audio science review or ASR I have to comment. I work in scientific measurements from baseband to RF. We engineer and test for many of the companies we all know by name. Done it for over 20 yrs. Whether by design or ignorance ASR makes a lot of mistakes. Basic ones. Simple and fundamental ones. Massive ones too. Bad configuration setup. Bad test settings. Missing the left page of settings and just showing results and not giving settings or context. Doing the wrong type of testing for what they are trying to test. Also… with headphone amps and DAC’s there are standards in practice. ASR ignores or does not seem to know much if any of this. He would be sent to school or fired at a good company. So… don’t reference that site if you want to be taken seriously by anyone who is a pro. They are not respected at all by most pros. Also… I would think you want to know how to properly review and measure. You should. Go learn how to do this. Get a good used analyzer / scope. A few hundred and a few books an you can do a better job within a few months of real study. Audit some courses a good university. Learn how to use terminology correctly. Like I said… you may not care about any of this but I thought that maybe you might. If you are spending the time to make the video reviews I know I would want to be taken seriously. But hey… maybe that’s just me.
Difference, what difference. And even if there were what would they matter in the final enjoyment of music. My ears may be shot but I will continue to enjoy music. If you loved music we could communicate. As for my honest opinion of your channel. as we say in Sicily, the best words are those not said. With such a small numbers of reviewers how can you be taken seriously.
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣Ma...get off the floor...That's reason I bought you that button around your neck...Press the button ....They're call 911.... LMAO.... You just got a new subcriber just for that bit in the RUclips clip✌️
I'd have to listen to this on proper speakers, not my cheap earbuds. A sounded distant and a little weak in the bass. B sounded the best except the bass was boomy, yes it could be the earbuds. C actually sounded more present than A but was weak in bass. I'd like to hear this test with a chamber orchestra on my speakers at home.
Even on the shittest speakers I own that is random chinese drivers in my phone room C has a very bad twangy and strident quality. Can't judge the other two I was too lazy to turn on the amp.
Blow my mind how some of these weirdos in the audio community buy everything out of everything that comes out, where the fuck do they get the money from while having the time to review everything? Also they don't give me any competent business men impressions (tho you can never be sure about that).
A and C sound hollow. Echo is quite bad. I am using Grado RS2E. B has a much fuller sound and I can actually hear the bass. TBH my own speaker placement is quite terrible. I live in a property I don't own, and thus I can only work with what I got. However, it is a building for autistic people, so the whole place is sound proofed.
Room 1. Is a place I would love to die in.. Room B. Is a place I would die to love in Last room. Is a place I would love to love in.. Ok, so now back to the music, I can only tell the difference when pink noise is playing. Those stupid crappy guitar plucks all sound the same.
I am very confused. As a review, commentary and/or critique, it's absurd. But, as a comedic routine it is very confusing. Mom falling was the least funny part. Would I trust this guy to feed my cat? Maybe. But I don't have a cat.
Even with a lousy RUclips sound, I immediately heard from my AKG K371 headphones (equalized for Harman Target), that Room B was scientifically properly constructed and decorated. The echo in Room C was terrible. I've heard too much like Room A. I have scientifically proven golden ears.
The ways to ruin credibility in an audio review: - Have big ass speakers in too small a room. (IE Klipsch la scalas 4' apart and calling it good. - Have the room "live" with no treatment. Great for an 80's hair metal drum kit, crap for speakers. - Use a cheap AVR as a reference. Iffy 100 (fake) wpc to drive maggies, martin logans, atc etc... - Be deaf as a stump like "Z" who can't hear how bad some things sound to everyone but him.

All three rooms sound hard and brittle. Gee get a better speaker, stereo. The room made little difference. I guess you cant turn a turd into an icecream.
I don’t think Danny’s video was vitriolic or acidic at all. He just has a way of speaking that sensitive people can’t handle. Unfortunately that means people tend to not believe what he says

nah that’s what ruins ppl. too much attention and then it turns into a fluffy safe job! i like the no name scientific underdogs best :-j

Room C : Pinot Grigio
My ears are truly shot! Confirming no need for spending shitloads on HiFi gear! God bless you sir!!!
The RT60 value of the room your mom fell in is terrible. The echo of her falling was maddening; I don't know how you put up with that.

Believe me - he is a scammer.
I like B since its less splashy and echoy from my 2 seconds of listening.
Consider me weird, but I (and thats not even a joke) prefer more decay on speakers. I don't know why but it just makes the music sound bigger and more musical to me personally.

They all sounded the same to me, and not nearly as good as my Crosley suitcase record player.
That was easy with B. You listened to the room where it was recorded in...Un like A&C, you heard the room or rooms the music reproduced in
any tips on how to get an acoustically perfect room?
