Its really just ear. Dont even need to memorise scale shaping if u have good enough muscle memory and ears. Keep on doing it instead of looking it up and you get it in no time. His level is alright but even he is pretty noob in the world of ear recognition

It is a bassline(might be with a guitar)... So I think it's is an impossibility to have anything on the b string (as most octave pedal suck at that )
