Also use a SMALL ship DBX, or ASPX (med ) it takes some searching but you can find spots CLOSE to the site to land, have a point defense equipped on the TOP of your ship. put power to shields & 2 pips to wepon the ship before you deploy the SRV. The point defense will shoot down ~95% of the missiles fired as long as you aren't parked too far from the site. Makes it very easy as you can ignore the missiles. It's also important to keep in mind that you MUST find /drive close to the pylons at the structure where the terminal comes out FIRST, otherwise the other pylons wont come out of the ground. I usually drive the circuit to get all the pylons to come up, then go around again to charge them. This also has the benefit of you having killed most of the Sentinels so you don't have to deal with more than the 4 that spawn when you charge the last two pylons at the Terminal spawn point.
Philip, those are all excellent tips, thank you. I never would've bothered with Point Defense on my stripped-down long-range DBX... but now for the lonnng grind to get blueprints there's 2 PDs on top. I was able to park it close to the site at HD 63154, and it has saved my SRV from about a gabillion missiles. And thanks of course to D2EA for the great video. Cheers guys. :)

Can confirm. I showed-up with a Beluga...I could do nothing--3 hours wasted. Also, yes, point defense is a life-saver here.

Just did the grind on this yesterday. I went to COL 173 SECTOR GS-J B25-4 D 2 as I just wanted the FSD Booster and the reinforcement modules. Took an ASPX with 3x Point Defence mounted in the top utility slots, and parked on the corner of the Guardian Stucture. The Point Defence took out every Sentinel missile, so saved a lot of pain.
My method:
- Zoom around with a detatched camera to get a view of the layout including where the pylons are.
- Collect materials from the distructable panels and scan obelisks first while getting familiar with the layout
- Grab an Ancient Relic in preparation
- Zoom up the hill to the "alter" and activate the 2 pylons next to it. Do NOT charge them yet. Kill any Sentinels
- Do a lap and activate the other 4 pylons, again don't CHARGE any. Kill any Sentinels
- Do a lap and CHARGE the pylons but leave the alter ones til last.
- When you're up at the alter and have charged those pylons last, jettison the relic, jump in your turret and point at the ejected orb. Scan it.
- Drive your SRV like you stole it, far away from the spawned Sentinels AND from your ship. Log out.
- Log in and repeat
On about the 3rd cycle, I was lapping without confusion. It's easier when you can see the pylons to race round and charge them not worrying about wasting countdown time finding them and raising them.
For obelisk data, find an ancient ruins (there are videos on here). You can farm all you need without Sentinels worrying you.

Would be so bad if the SRV wasn't like driving a plate of jelly on an ice rink that clips into just about every guardian site strut and object going, or just fails to respond to throttle input or just..ignores the handbrake...SRV is AIDs, even if the actual act of doing the site and the mechanics aren't that bad.
This is brilliant advice. I got there in my DBX and the place was in ruins and nothing like the vids I'd seen on youtube. I parked right out front and the 3 point defence turrets dealt with every missile fired at me. The sentinels were a pain until I got used to fighting with the SRV but the key is to not panic. I had to return to my ship 3 times from bashing into things and getting my hull under 20%. My only gripe was that I had to log 4 times just to find 21 technology comps - it was so frustrating that I gave up on the idea of getting the shield blueprint on this run. Still, my DBX and Conda both have 70ly range now so I'm a happier bunny. Thanks, dudes.

Good job, I learned the basics from this video. Anyway, I would strongly recommend the COL 173 SECTOR GS-J B-25-4 , planet D2 (around 30.000 ls from the main star) for the module blueprints. It`s much easier, because it`s ususally much brighter there, the gravity is friendly, and the nearby terrain is so flat, that even a capital ship could land there.

CMDR's be careful with the platforms leading up the data orb altar. Your SRV wheels can clip through them and get stuck. Found out the hard way when I was boosting up, run out of juice (despite 4 pips to engines) and the SRV landed, rolled backwards, and the wheel axel clipped through a tiny strut.
Always epic when you can't move in any axis...just great game play...10/10

Robert Boomer - if you've done regular base-running for CIF/MEF you'll be fine with these - you have plenty of time, even accounting for stopping to deal with the guardian skimmers which, as you saw in this vid, present no problem if you have pip management in mind as you do it. The only real gripe I've got is the scenery seems 'stickier' than regular bases - expect to get caught up on relatively innocuous-looking bits of scenery A LOT. My friend even had to re-log, as when you log in, the game moves you just to the outside edge of the base, and it spawned him with the front wheels of his SRV embedded inside an obelisk, so he couldn't move!
:edits: oh and the irony is, you waited because of bugs, but the effect of the main initial bug was that the sites gave out too much data, so it's actually harder now the bugs have been fixed! :o

I’m not certain what one I was at but the terrain is horrible. The structure has a ton of bumps and you’re goin to need to boost to over them (there like big speed bumps) and he ground around it is a mess so going anywhere is a challenge.
Where exactly can you find these things? I read somewhere in the ETA Carina Sector is one place but when I look for the article again, I can't find it. Did I get duped into flying out here for nothing?
Tip: Make sure you pick up a Point Defense for your ship and land close. This works really good at protecting you from a guardian missile strike.

If I may ask, why HD 63154 B3A for modules? There are closer structures. That trip of 120000+ Ls is quite time consuming.
I just want to find some micro - weave cooling hoses... been looking at wreckd, salvaging from planets, as well as board hoping for mission rewards for tons of stations at different systems of various states or eco... still haven't found 1 since 3.0 drop
Do some VIP passenger missions to systems with more than 200, 000Ls travel from the arrival point (so you're looking for 2+ mil missions while allied), my favourite are rich tourist VIPs - they basically guarantee no risk and no interdiction. I was practically drowning in that shit when I was looking for grid resistors and biotech conductors. Just get that rep up to allied first, they didn't seem to appear in the mission rewards until I got allied.
It was confirmed as a bug and has been fixed with update 3.0.4. Micro-Weave cooling hoses are available again as mission rewards. I went to TUN last night and there were plenty of missions that gave m-wc hoses as reward. I picked up a mission that gave me 36 units (!) for a single cargo haul.
How do you get so much time? I get like 3 minutes for all the pylons and then I have too be lucky when dropping the relic in the curvy terrain. Missed it 3 times already. Seconds on the clock. For me its a very tight race and anything less then perfect is a fail. I know exactly what the shortest route is. And yet. I haven' t got it yet. Close... but no cigar.
How do you get so much leisure time???? 10 minutes?? That' s not fair! Your time increases when you shoot a pylon. How come mine does not?
I just get the initial 3 minutes and that is it. I will make it though. It has to be.... perfect! No room for driving errors.

Maybe it has not happened before, but for some reason even if the terminal is on, when I drop the relic on the ground right above the light nothing happens.

Great video but you left out one important bit of information. After you charge the last pylon, 4 sentinels spawn and then its game on.

Followed all the way up to releasing the orb, but when I scan it I dont get a blueprint. has anyone else ran into this problem? I'm not finding it anywhere else online but i've done it through twice now and still nothing....
Scanning it does not work for me either, and this is 6 months down the road. Just going to submit a ticket and demand all 6 blueprints so I don't waste anymore of my time doing this shit.

Hmm, activated all the pylons, get the activated message, drop a relic on the X. Nothing. Tried dropping it in various positions. It just sits there. IC 239 1 SECTOR FL-X B1-7 A 3.
That one may require a Guardian Beacon (HIP 36823) and get a Guardian Key. Some sites use Guardian Relics, others, Guardian Keys.
You only need to find one site for module and one weapon blue print. They respawn.
Can you do this as part of a wing? If I have a friend with me and we are both in our os SRV, do we both have to shoot all 6 pylons or If one of us shoots will it count for both of us? If it does not count for both of us, are we both able to shoot it or can only one person run it at a time and have to leave/come back for things to reset?

So i switched from elite horizons to elite odyssey and now it works. If anyone else has this problem, this can fix it...
I must have scanned at least 30 active obelisks at various ancient ruins and have got precisely zero data. What am I doing wrong? Oh yes, it took me about 8 tries to activate all 6 pylons and collect 1 fragment. I can't face doing all that again..............
Not sure how many players know this but you don't need to log out to the main menu for materials to respawn, just leave the planet and super cruise back in and you're good to go 👍
Did they change how this works, because shooting pylons doesn't give me any extra time as I do it right now. I seem to just get 4 minutes and that's it, and I keep failing lol

So I'm not sure if my game is broken or something, but I've done this whole process 3 times now and each time, I just idle over the ancient terminal and it never says I collected any blueprint. I've spent probably 6 hours on this now, super frustrating! Your guide is excellent though, I just think my game is bugged for some absurd reason.
You have to leave the site with your SRV, log out and log back in to get any more blueprints
scan the floating orb with your turret.
Just a tip for everyone. You can target and shoot down the missiles that the skimmers shoot at you but is more difficult the closer you are. What i did was speed by each skimmer spawn trigger location and then retreat up to a hill and shoot the skimmer from a distance. When they fire missiles you can just wait for them to level out and shoot them. This helps when doing the runs solo.

Check your inventory where you see your materials there will be a blueprints tab

Seriously frontier are not thinking straight because how can I see anything in camera suit mode as the night vision doesn't work while using it😑. Pointless camera mode when everything is practically in complete darkness like 80% of the time 🤦🏾♂️. How can you not have a solution yet after all these years.

Hello , where the video for the camera set in Elite for guardian sites. Also, if you want two guardian fsd boosters, do you need to collect twice the materials need for one.
You only need to unlock it once. Then you can buy as many as you want
The mats they drop are used to unlock the new weps.
SITES HAVE NOW BEEN RESET WITH FLEET CARRIERS UPDATE. I thought I was going crazy o7

Do the pips to system really do anything? Other than recharge the capacitor after the shield is empty i don't have to use the system pips

The more pips you have to your shields the stronger they will be.
Unfortunately im there at night so when I use external view its pitch black so its very disorientating at night, I didnt have time to find the other 2 pylons. Is there a way to find out when the site is in daylight?
Or just turn on night vision. Should help you too.
When I'm in turret mode it's not very precise like in your video. I'm using a Thrustmaster HOTAS and the hat button to move the turret. Is it possible to use the mouse just for SRV turret??

Yes, the Hotas mini stick is terrible because it jerks around too fast. You can set it to mouse but then you have to switch hands if your a rightie to drive with. I do it but it's weird.
don't fly to HD 63154 B3A in a conda unless you want to rage bounce your ship off the planet after spending an hour trying to park the f'n thing. pos planet sucks to land anything big on. don't waste your time like i did.

first you need to relog every time you have finished a site. Also if you are trying to get vessel blue prints you need a guardian key and not a relic (changed after this video was made)

omfg nothing more frustrating than doing the same thing over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over only to keep having it fail even though you followed the steps and activated all 6 pylons!!! This fucking game likes to troll players and I can fully understand why most people give up after the first couple times of playing this shlt
