    I didn't know you fished! That's awesome! Been enjoying your videos about GoPro microphones. I'm thinking about purchasing the ETM-001. Thanks for all the great information!

    The audio sounds great, and the form factor is the best out there for sure

    The test of the fishing footage sold me. Thanks!

    Thanks very much for your video which introduced me to the ETM-001 mic. It fits perfectly on the shooting platform first constructed by You-tuber Kyle Martin Tech and demonstrated by him several years ago. I had plenty of room to put the admittedly over-sized mic adapter where it would best fit and the mic plugged in directly but doesn't show even in the camera's wide angle view. Now I have much better audio; thanks again. Wish I could attach a picture of the setup; it turned out pretty nice-looking.

    I can’t believe there isn’t a mic that plugs directly into the GoPro. Seems bizarre/ridiculous .

    Thank you for this test, very informative! Does the microphone make no noise in a quiet environment? I would like to buy it because the microphone on my phone makes too much noise in a quiet environment. Thank you.

    Nice review of it. I’ve been using the saramonic mic for a few months now. In high winds the audio starts cracking. I wonder if the etm one does this as well. Thinking of buying it.

      Been using the ETM exclusively the last year. Works great. Any mic in a hurricane will fail tho.

    Tried it, returned it. Felt too loose in the GoPro audio adapter and in my dslr. Like the diameter is just slightly too small.

    Is the dead cat placed over the foam that is already on the mic??

    • @PathLessPedaledTV
      @PathLessPedaledTV  6 лет назад +1

      I usually place the wind muff directly on the mic in lieu of the foam.

  • @Backpacksandtrails

    Can I use my dead cat muff from my Saramonic?

    Thanks for the vid. I'm inclined to buy the 001. BTW, what did you use to attach the mic adapter to the GoPro frame?

    Have you tried the Edutige on a DSLR? I have the Nikon 5300. I bought the Sony ECM-DS70P to use on the Nikon and a GoPro Hero 2. I really can't tell any difference between the built in Nikon mic and the external Sony. I am assuming that the Nikon automatically uses the external when it is plugged in. I don't see any setting to select internal or external mic.

    do you notice a POPPING sound when on standard non-power mic on yours?

    • @PathLessPedaledTV
      @PathLessPedaledTV  5 лет назад

      No. Some popping and clicking can be caused by cellular signals / WiFi. So keep it away from your phone or put it in airplane mode.

      Path Less Pedaled CHEERS! you know your stuff! i turned off voice and shut the connection off of the app and the popping stopped! thanks a million bud!

    I got the ETM-001 mic. The plug configuration is the same as that shown in your video. It is plugged into the Hero 6 black via the gopro mic adapter. For the life of me I can't hear much, if any difference. Could you please review the settings that you use?

    Great videos. I bought both 001 & 008. Can you recommend a windscreen for both mics? Reviews are conflicting. Thanks!

    the right angle adapter you use in the video is TRRS. does it compatible with gopro’s adapter???

  • @ถ่ายหลายเที่ยว

    Does the gopro audio adapter support trrs right angle adapter ?

    Question: with the build-in mic you get a lot of sounds when your hitting the stick/tri-pod of the GoPro, how's that with this mic?
    (since there is still a lot of static mass from the mic to the GoPro stick)

  • @CDubzMTB
    @CDubzMTB 6 лет назад

    I used my mic a couple of times, and then the next day I use it these popping noises show up in all of my videos. Any possible reason why? I have the same setup in your video.

    • @CDubzMTB
      @CDubzMTB 6 лет назад +1

      Nevermind, I figured it out. When I had my mic placed next to a lot of other electronics (an old hand-held video recorder, my phone, and my laptop) it started making these weird popping noises. It wasn't until I took the camera and walked away from the other electronics it immediately stopped making these noises.

      Those small mics and GoPro aren’t very well shielded.

    Is there anything in the settings I need to change? I have everything set up with the adapter and the saramonic mic and I get no sound.

    • @PathLessPedaledTV

      How are you using it? One touch operation? Or powering on then recording?

    • @PathLessPedaledTV
      @PathLessPedaledTV  6 лет назад +1

      Also the audio in the menu should show you have an external mic.

    • @fishingconvelazquez

      Path Less Pedaled Power and record. And I take different takes and none of them have audio.

      Path Less Pedaled it does show I have an external mic connected. But there is no audio.

      Are you using a right angle adaptor or straight into the box? If using a right angle adaptor, try it without.

    I bought the saramonic and I just get crackling noises. Its disappointing. How is it you got your saramonic to work ok?

    • @PathLessPedaledTV
      @PathLessPedaledTV  6 лет назад +1

      Have you tried another mic with the adaptor to narrow down if it is the mic or not?

    • @groversings
      @groversings 6 лет назад

      Path Less Pedaled that’s my next on my to-do. I actually had setup my gopro 5 and followed your steps to a tee. I planned on bringing this setup to the Philippines with me but I couldn’t fix the crackling sound issue. Ironically, I tried troubleshooting today and it worked on the first shot then it failed subsequent recordings. Overall, I think maybe with a different mic it should work. The gopro 5 is a solid camera in conjunction with the wireless my passport we drive it’s badass!!!! Sitting through tons of video now. Gopro 5 stock audio is meh but will have to do 👌🏽😊. Great job on the videos and tutorials. Your channel is very addictive! I wish I had more time to watch!

    • @PathLessPedaledTV
      @PathLessPedaledTV  6 лет назад +1

      Are you using one-touch recording? Some firmware kills the audio in one touch mode. So many things can go wrong between the firmware and hardware so its hard to pinpoint.

    • @groversings
      @groversings 6 лет назад

      Path Less Pedaled Ykes I didn’t think about that avenue but will sure test this as well! I’ll keep you posted! Thank you for all the help! 😊

      Path Less Pedaled OMG!!!! You were right about the one touch messing with audio!!! I tried it out this morning and it works perfectly!!!! Thank you soooooooo much!!!!

    Hi so I purchased the etm-100 mic and put it on my GoPro hero 7 I changed the settings on the output menu to standard plus and went back to see the footage of my bike ride and I heard some popping sounds everytime I started going downhill. Do you have any suggestions or what it can be I used it only with the small windmuff it came with

    • @PathLessPedaledTV
      @PathLessPedaledTV  5 лет назад

      Popping sounds mean RF interference. Make sure it’s not near a phone when in use and shut off all WiFi functionality.

    • @PathLessPedaledTV
      @PathLessPedaledTV  5 лет назад

      Also if it is wind noises I would suggest using the lavalier muffs we have linked in the description. The foam cover is not enough.
