inthere2it is the driver (which is me), the lap time was 4:56.589, which bests my previous record of 4:58.810 shown in an earlier video. This lap around the Nurburgring was quite fun to do and very challenging to get right. I do not own any of the content featured in this video and no copyright infringement is intended.

Well, lapping the 'Ring with a low time in this game at perfect weather conditions and no tire degradation can be fairly easy(but I agree changing the weather can be a fun challenge), but the feeling of cracking under 5 minutes feels awesome. I did 4:59 after a few hours with the FGT and it felt pretty epic! I'm just wondering how amazing it would be to do same thing with a Formula 1 car in Assetto Corsa.
I don't know if it's quite possible but I might give it a shot sometime.

The physics aren't great and the lap time is highly unrealistic (maybe 15 seconds too quick) but wonderful driving anyway. ❤ There are several versions of this car for Assetto Corsa. Will take a look at some.
I do it in 5.34 (Lotus 97T) with joystick. I recon i could improve maybe 10 seconds, (i dont play as much as i wanted to) but that record of your's is impossible for me to beat ! Nice driving!

My friend got a 4min. 56 sec. using a controller. I could only get 4min. 59sec. using controller tho. But still a good time bro!

I can run mid 8 min. lap time mark on my RX 7 that has less than 290 HP. I enjoy using a lower HP vehicle and use it's full potential than to get on a 600+ HP vehicle which I will end up only utilizing a small portion of its potential. This has alot to do with the fact that I have not yet been able to dial in/ perfect such high HP car to function the way I like on this track.

I'm hitting a wall at 5:05. Are there any parts of the course or tips that you remember that cut your laps down when you were practicing.
All i can really say about it is practice a lot. There weren't really specific things I did that made all the difference.
Have to know the track perfect. Every corner. So when you’re going flat out you know when to turn in. Learn the best lines for you. There’s a lot of corners you can take flat out.
I can do 5:02 with a Pescarolo C60 Hybride (I think that's the name. That car is pretty much just an F1 car itself

If you are referring to a 7 speed transmission in this car, it does not have the option for one. I do use full BHP and minimum weight on this car.

Nice lap, I wish the shifting lag was a little less, the real car shifted quicker. Lap times are a bit on the fast side, corning grip is almost the same as the F2007 in GT5.
Thanks! Yeah the shifting lag does kind of put more importance on the transmission setup. I used to race the F2007 a lot in GT5, it's a shame they didn't bring it back for GT6. Anyway, do you play GT6 online?

Welp, i think i'm already happy with my 5:27 with controller in 3 years of playing this game XD
So I get very sad when I see those times back. It is totally out of reality. The pole position in 1976 was 7:05.06 , something like it. I play GT5 and GT6 with G27, but for fun. One time I do one list with lap records of Nurburgring. It's to easy to beat the times of real life in GT6.
This wasn't necessarily aiming to beat the real life target time, but rather to see just how far I could push the car. Most of GT6 is unrealistic, especially when it comes to grip levels. I find GT6 to be far too grippy.
+donutdude42 I forgot to say I was not belittling your performance . Also because this car is one of the most difficult to drive in the game. Congratulations. From now your time will be my target time .
Thats because of tires, if we wanted to do it accurately this lotus should have not better tires than Racing Hard

You should drive with the normal manual h-shift gearbox, this Lotus doesn't have a sequential one. But anyway, great driving.
You are right. I do have a Logitech G27 Racing Wheel with an H-pattern shifter. I can definitely use it in this context but for outright speed in GT6, the clutch just isn't fast enough. I can use the H-pattern gearbox without the clutch and achieve the same result. However, the clutch in GT6 just isnt what needs to be to pull of a run like that with the clutch.
How is shifting without clutch in a Lotus 97T even possible?

No, I think the only assist I had was ABS but I don't actually remember if ABS was on.
Either the lotus 97T is faster than the 919 evo or GT6 is a pretty bad simulation. Pretty sure its the second one

Actually...You can't equip turbos on the F1 cars. He did give it an oil change which boosts HP to 1,000+.
My best so far is 5:23:055 in a formula gran turismo using a fake ps3 controller. The problem i have with the formula is that it becones twichy and so slow on sone bumpy corners, otherwise an amazing and intimidating experience!

No. I managed. Check out my latest vid for proof. Not impossible... But extremely difficult. Good tune is key
ABS is an important assist that allows to brake very late before a curve and make possible to steer while braking. Is your ForceFeedback Wheel set to "Simulation" and its force and sensitivity set to "10" ? Grip on reality adjusted to "realistic" and using "manual gearbox" ? Try without any simplification, and upload again. If that doesn't change your laptime we can trash this simulator.
D Y it's not really a good simulator that's already clear. Iracing, asseto corsa those are fantastic simulators.

Well it’s not modified in the sense of in the game, because you can’t modify it in the game, only tune it. But I agree with you in the sense that the car corners too quickly compared to a real life Lotus 97T.

At the moment, I don't have a shifter but I believe I could get somewhere around a 5:20 or 5:30 with a proper manual gearbox. GT6's clutch just isn't what it needs to be to really race competitively with it anyway. Quite simply, it's slower.
Just add realism...try this on Assetto Corsa and post new video please! Great driving.
