He reminds me of a pervert. The way he moves his mouth. He must have a sex problem in this series. I'm American and I love watching foreign series on Netflix. My hushusband said it was good. He was right. Merry Christmas
jan's insane laughter and screaming is great. when he screams at the bus leaving him on his skis, i think the director or the actor went for 'hitler' inspired scream-insult-rants. it worked! very believable.
This show is far too under appreciated by the American audience. Great acting and comedy. For instance, when Van Zant's character asks three little boys if they can speak English and all three are fluent and speak it better than him. The passive neighborhood watch scene was hilarious too.
no, the norwegian boys do not speak english better than van zant. at all. they have accents. norwegians speak what may initially seem surprisingly decent english, but once you look below the surface, it's fairly broken english and 95% of the time with an endearing even cute accent. but this notion of scandi english skill... swedes and dutch usually score highest, sure, but i mean, daily, week in week out, month after month. it's more like jan in the beginning of the show "der is... uh, not... uh, not too much, uh.... jobs. pizza delivery for dolly dimples". in fact, the little norwegian boys, i can say, i had my own 'lilyhammer' moment, but in rogaland. i was out for a walk through this park and three boys, older than those in the show, these were, maybe even 9-10 years old, and so should be fairly ok in basic english. they spoke to me in norwegian, i just replied "kan du snakke engelsk?" they went from playing and open, to frozen. shocked. they stared at me (being the only canadian around for miles i'm sure, or, to them 'english') "we... speak.... norway". classic.
@@markhirstwood4190 I think you might be a bit spoiled/expect to much. Try going to Germany and see how far you get with english there. How many foreign languages do 9 year olds speak fluently where you are from?
I loved it myself. Along with Marco Polo was my favorite Netflix show. Still pisses me off they cancelled it. Very few shows since caught my eye like they did.
Agree; I think it was the subtitles that was a turnoff to people. It's one thing a show like Wentworth where they have different accents, coloquialisms and cultural norms, but you could still get the gist.
First of all, it's a Norwegian series by Norwegian Broadcasting Corporation, but Netflix bought the rights. Second of all, even the star himself, Steven van Zandt, said it shouldn't be more.
Sucks that after The Undertaker took out that bad guy (forgot his name), they had to discontinue this show, such great show man, had some great references to The Sopranos
Reminds me of that D-FENS guy from the movie Falling Down. He looks like that kind of a guy who could snap when pushed around too much i.e., leaves the scene, goes to buy an uzi and returns to massacre everyone. Excellent series and superb actors!
There is NO great acting here. Barely any acting at all... These two were married at the time, and none of them are among the top 50 norwegian actors in my book.
The actor who plays Jan is out of this world. He creates a character that inspires disgust and compassion and fear, and seems realistic. Just amazing.

His laugh is so freaking funny
He sounds like a bleating goat at the very end, lol!
so funny and unsettling. extremely memorable laugh
@@Kevlexicon and little bit nasty laugh too
They are actually married in real life. Experience
One of the best Netflix had. Too bad it was discontinued.
One of the best actors in the world man
his laugh at the end... Priceless!
Sounds like a bleating goat, lol

“Jan” is acting in the new Norwegian movie “TROLL” at Netflix.

You realize that Van Zant has an accent too, right?
I really love this show maybe more than sopranos. Still so devastated that this show is canceled....

One hellava Underrated Tv Series.
This guy became my fav. So great
This show is an absolute masterpiece. Never in my life have I laughed so hard for so long.
Jan's laugh is hilarious
I love this show, it's so funny.
One of the greatest Norwegian actors. Both of them..
LOL!
1:16 when hitler gets rejected from art school
I agree. Actors in this show are great.
Love this series. Sad that they had to cancel after season three and couldn't keep the flow/story going.
Looking back, had James Gandolfini not passed away, I’m sure he would’ve made a cameo.
@@latinobunny9882 he was supposed to be in the series with others from soprano

Fantastic and Jan is amazing
He is so handsome. I saw him in 'The Wave' today.
best was when torgeir rescued jonas in a go kart.
Only just started watching this show. Gutted it was cancelled. 😟
The shit Jan does with his mouth is unbelievable. So funny
I wish for season 4 but Netflix has no balls
First of all, it's a Norwegian series by Norwegian Broadcasting Corporation, but Netflix bought the rights. Second of all, even the star himself, Steven van Zandt, said it shouldn't be more.
The Jan character was both so funny and evil at the same time, kinda like Paulie on The Sopranos.
great actor
Sucks that after The Undertaker took out that bad guy (forgot his name), they had to discontinue this show, such great show man, had some great references to The Sopranos
That guy had it coming
One of the funniest shows on Netflix
It is???
Netflix need to bring back lillyhammer.
It's on Netflix now, atleast in my country
Fun fact: They're actually married for real
mpl93 not anymore
The two actors were married until 2016.
Yan yelling sounds like he about to invade poland
How can u get the subtitles? This scene had my dying lol
Im going to add subtitles to this one. Its a bit difficult, but possible.
hows that going?
Been 6 years. Still waiting…
My favorite character
i understand no word but i have to agree, thats great acting even if you dont understand what they say
Iv adden subs
Thx :-). I love this series
THAT was the best scene? No way.
I think it was definitely one of his best. A combination of all his best characteristics. His weirdness, seriousness, cleverness, etc.
Who said "best scene"?
One of Netflix's gems lol
Yea! Way to go Jan!
What is the jazz song of Season 2 Episode 8 of "Lilyhammer??
he looks like Gary Ridgway.
Yes he does! Fuck man, now you've put that in my mind :P The Green River Killer has a twin :S Kill it with fire. The both of 'em... :S
Superb.
Oh, that laugh....
Zumba = best scene
Like Norwegian humor is the best. Not as crazy as Asian but not as boring as American eighter!
gracias
Merry Christmas everyone ❤ ♥ 💕

Fridtjov Såheim great actor
Jan is the best
How the hell Jan Changes so fast?
He got fired and had to act like his real self. He was hiding his real life. He came out of the closet to me.
Petition for more Lilyhammer:
