I own 2 GOs (Cosmopolite and a SeaQ pano). Beautiful watches. You buy them be because you like them and when you realize people really don’t care what’s on your wrist. They are difficult to justify financially if you buy new. If you’re patient you can find good deals on previously owned.
Fortunate enough to own a 39.5 SeaQ. Such a fantastic watch, especially at the pre-owned price. Also super thankful that GO is listening to owners and making an exhibition case back available, not many brands at that level would be as responsive to that type of request, especially for legacy owners
Bruce. I bought the glashutte seventies on silver dial from watching your video a few years ago, and also IWc le petit prince from watching your vid. You influence my decisions before buying the rolexes and omegas
That is really cool to hear. Hopefully I find a good deal on one and we can own the same model
I have the Seventies with the sky blue dial. Crazy thing after I recieved it the individual case # is my birth year! I love that watch, great to hear you love it too. I'm going to be in SLC later this week, Looking forward to Takashi!!!
That sky blue is incredible. Congrats!
Bought a sla043 Seiko shipped to Toronto from exquisite, they were fantastic had a dedicated customer representative always giving me updates on my order!
They do a great job
I have got a GO sea q pano date two years ago. It is wonderful
Great video, highlight the houses making fantastic watches with less hype! Get the word out
I bought PanomaticLunar from GO with green dial and I just love it. Fantastic watch.
Likewise, although when I went to the AD and they were bringing some out for me to try I said “don’t bring the green, no way I’m buying that!”
30 minutes later I’m sitting on the train home, admiring my new green watch😂
My next watch is the Glasutte Original SeaQ Panorama Date Bicolor. I have been saving for it for over a year. It's just that certain costs have come and eaten some of the funds. But I'm getting there. Omega et al will still be there by the time I've got my G.O.
Great video. A Glashutte Original PanoMaticLunar is definitely on my radar, but due to financial constraints it is and will most likely always remain an aspirational time piece for me. I have heard of Fortis and C.F. Bucherer, but they don't give me that warm and fuzzy feeling like GO does.
Love Glashutte, and have bought a few from Exquisite (Tyler is great to deal with!) but the issue if you are a collector with some rotation is - resale. They are worthless on the secondary market. Awesome watches - just be sure they will be a keeper. The 60s line had some great dials!
Or buy used and enjoy the discount
I had to decide between a 7400 Rolex Explorer or my 9600 Glashutte Original Senator Excellence and the movement is up there with A. Lange Sohn.
In my opinion. Has a leather strap that’s top shelf and bought a deployment buckle and the extra grey nato type strap. I’m in love with my at h ever time I wear it as it never fails to be my true companion on my wrist. Take a eye loupe and look deeper into the dial and movement and you’ll be blown away. Owner of this watch since 2022 and it still oops and operates he same today as the day I bought it from a watch event at Moyer Jewelers . NO WATCH REGRETS HERE. NO BUYERS REMORSE. ITS A KEEPER IN MY SMALL COLLECTION AND BY FAR MY FAVORITE.
What are you waiting on Bruce ? Go buy one. Keep the good stuff coming as I enjoy it. Especially this one !
Glashutte Original SeaQ is my goal watch. I’ve been torn between the 43.2 and the 39.5 with the display back so I’m very excited to hear you’ll be doing a review. Love this brand.
I looked at both and got the 39mm. I’m very happy, one of my favorite watches. Got it at the Teddy Baldassar brick and mortar store in Cleveland- good experience.
The 39.5 is pretty amazing, especially with them brushing the center link on the bracelet.
From your video, did they add display back to the 39.5? Mine doesn’t have that
@@ryanelectra225 they just announced it in December last year. They are offering the options on new purchases but also an upgrade option for everyone that bought one before. It was $300 US for the display back… I think. Details might have changed but it was suppose to go in effect 1/25/25. So I’d contact GO and find out the process cuz it’s definitely a worthwhile upgrade.
@@ryanelectra225 I’m sure it’s an awesome watch. Do you plan on upgrading to the display back?
My favorite GO is the PanoRetrograph, which came out in the early 2000’s. A chronograph and a countdown timer with a chime. Nothing else like it!😊
I own a Glashutte panomatic power reserve. Amazing piece!
My reason for not owning a GO PanoMaticLunar is because of the word “yet”. Also, they don’t lose a ton of resale value so it’s hard to find one used in super condition for a great price. And, I want the bracelet, so it’s even harder to find at a great deal. And then, there’s the color choice…blue vs charcoal.
Have enjoyed my GO panodate seaq for 3 years. Super accurate and timeless design👍
Great choices Bruce.
Agree 💯 with GO, amazing watches. Not as familiar with Fortis but will give them a look and the Bucherer dive watch was amazing!
3 amazing under the radar brands 🙌 for me one brand which is my stand alone favorite is hanhart .great small independent brand i whole heartedly recomend.
I’m planning on getting a GO in a few years.
I think its best to buy these brand second hand as they normally lose tones of value in secondary market
Those brands by-in-large aren’t offered in nearby ADs
GO Panomaticlunar is on my short list for next purchase. What you get for the money is just next level. The reason why I think some people don't go for these non-mainstream brands is the resale factor. You know if you have to part with a Sub or a Seamaster, while the market is crowded it will be much easier as more people are looking for those than these brands.
That is a good point
For some, Glashütte is in their mind too.
I feel that these brands, particularly GO, are for people who've reached the Rolex/Omega/Breitling/Tudor level and, more importantly, have had that experience.
I completely agree with you not buying those brands.
Let us all know when you actually do 🙄
This video and your discounted purchase price from your Sponsor should mean it happens sooner rather than later me thinks 😏
The designs are a side step from everyday wear, and no date models are lacking
GO is soo good!
Great selection. GO is my grail brand. I am not as familiar with the others on your short list. I agree, I think we save for a watch or when we have the funds we look to the known brands
Hi Bruce, Thank you for your well researched and engaging presentations. I still recall your terrific presentation that changed my mind on Doxa watches. Fortis seems like a good brand. Bucherer and G. Original are near the top of my list to buy in a dress watch format in the near future. Well done sir.
Appreciate that!
These brands are often priced as a more well known brand and people are choosing what is more popular usually. When you wear a GO, nobody cares even people who know a little bit about watches
Review that Blue SeaQ with the open case back PLEASE! Want to hear your thoughts about and see that movement up close - it's on a short list to replacement my Black bay 58
I'm working on gathering all the footage now. It will likely be uploaded within a week or two
That statement regarding getting the GO seventies over the Nautilus over the RO, and every other integrated steel sports watch, “if everything was the same” doesn’t make sense to me. Let’s just say theoretically you can buy any integrated steel sports watch for $25,000, and you’ll keep it forever, so secondary market price is irrelevant. Will you still get the GO? I highly doubt that.
Personally rather own the GO Seventies or a Chopard Alpine Eagle over the Nautilus and the RO.
@@juliuscaesar5360 Yeah I get that and that’s easy to say, but will you really pay $25k for it? BTW the Patek and RO retails for more than that. The Alpine eagle and GO costs less. I just arbitrarily put the price somewhere in the middle at $25K to make things “the same”.
@@Bu-22 After handling the RO, Alpine Eagle, and Glashutte 70s Chrono (obviously not the 70s variant but very similar case shape) in person, I much rather own the Alpine Eagle and the GO 70s if price was the same. Personally think the RO is grossly overrated. Never handled the Nautilus but I’d rather look Patek dress watches over their sport watches.
Ok so you’ll pay $25K for an Alpine Eagle then? Easy to pick when you don’t actually have to pay for it.
@@Bu-22 @ Obviously, this is based on my wearing experience but the quality of the bracelet and case material feels so much better on the wrist when wearing the Alpine Eagle than the RO; Also, the spiral dial of the AE is superb. The RO just feels blah and dull to me.
You don't not buy a watch brand you 'underrate' only one you don't like enough 🙄
Glashute on my list too. Has been.
Glashutte is a bargain A lange
Great video Bruce. Like you, I love GO, I have two of them now and absolutely love them. I have come close to purchasing a CFB before but haven't pulled the trigger on one yet due to other preferences at the time. I haven't really looked at Fortis so may need to look at them a little more as a future option.
These all look great, but for me, the main reason I’ve never bought one is that I have never seen one in person. That is where your reason kicks in: I am very uncomfortable spending over 2K on a watch I’ve never tried on, no matter how amazing it looks.
I'd love the GO 70s. It's a great alternative to the usual choices..
I haven't owned a Fortis , or Carl R Bucherer, but have admired them for a while . I do , currently, have a Glashutte Original SeaQ for sale as we speak , sea green 43mm. Beautiful peice. Great video
I was at Burdeens last year and I saw the Glashutte Original watches. I was very impressed. Videos dont make them justice. It was obvious to me that these watches were on a different level, i just didn't have the money to buy one.
Glashutte isn't underrated, just super expensive hahahah.
all high end watches are overpriced, that's the way they make money. Among all companies, probably Longines and Nomos are the exception. At least Glashutte Original doesnt charge as much as other brands that offer lesser watches for more money.
There are great deals on pre-owned.
Yes pre owned is the best way to go!
GO is like 90% Lange quality for 10-20% the price. Not really that expensive.
In the grand scheme of things they really aren’t
These manuf's are pricy.
I love GO. It’s the watch I want to own. The SeaQ grande date is superb.
Good feature Bruce.
I agree wholeheartedly with your analysis.
CFB got some good branding with the John wick franchise they have wonderful watches.
GO is at least at a JLC level in terms of quality for me.
They are incredibly well made and beautifully designed.
Fortis have an extraordinary history but like the others suffer from weak branding.
And the 70s grey dial is my favourite watch of all time. Yes I bought it. Over Rolex omega JLC and even Vacheron
Love this comment. Well articulated
While I respect the opinions of others it's only right to call out the bs too. The only reason that these watches don't get enough attention of because of people like you. I would take any of these over a Rolex (which isn't the "Best of the Best of the Best" ) It's time people take their head for a shit when it comes to Rolex.
So I make a video consistent with my others on these brands encouraging people to check them out. But its also my fault that they don't get enough attention? lol you make no sense
I understand, I will explain. If you created a video without mentioning Rolex at all it would help (just one example) @@BruceWilliams
@ take a look through my content, I rarely cover Rolex lol
@BruceWilliams good man. No offence intended. As a content creator I owe it to you to tell you my view. Have a good day
I will admit that my G.O. Panomaticlunar wasn’t my first watch purchase, but I did buy one. I love it and since my watch collection heavily leans towards the sports side, that watch is one of my dress watches. Or at least that’s how I think about it.
Bruce, you're crazy... but that's why your videos are so much fun. Love the GO and CFB options. Not looked at Fortis but they seem interesting.
That I am haha
I think the most underrated watch brand is Ebel. The brand was huge in the 80's and 90's. I'd recommend checking out the newly released Sport Classic Skeleton. I've purchased it in November last year. It's a stunning watch. I've posted a few photos of it on the WUS forum under the topic "Why does nobody ever talk about Ebel".
I have to agree with your #1 pick of Glashutte Original. Why would would I spend 10K on a Rolex or Omega when I could pick up a new or slightly used Glashutte Original Panomaticlunar for the same price. It's crazy not to think of this brand!
Hey Bruce - we all know you’re crazy, has nothing to do with this excellent video!😂
lol yes I am
I’m one of those cheapskate heretics who occasionally buys an homage to a watch i admire. An example if this is my Seestern 434S v2, a $200 or so iircc Chinese homage to the GO SeaQ. Blue. Lovely. Having fun with it.
Haven’t bought chase they are shite
Have you talked about the great wave? Or you just gon double up on great wave litos and act all mr cool cause you got a day date and you give no answers only look downs? 😅😅😅
Lol I didn't mention the day date or even wear it in this video
