Here on Andrew Morgan Watches I want to bring you all the best on watches from my personal perspective. There's watch reviews, expert reactions, top 10 lists, the best and worst of the industry and a whole bunch of memes, too. So if you like Swiss watches, German watches, Japanese watches-whatever-you'll be sure to enjoy AMW!
Question 1 = Do you like it?
Question 2 = Can you afford it?
The only questions that do truly matter!
No, about 6 months later there is a corollary Question 3 = Why TF did I spend that much on a frikkin watch?!
@@ph8077 By then that doesn't matter, you already did, so who cares why
Maybe there should be a third question..."Will I like it a year from now as much as I do today?"
Uhhhh no, the only thing that matters is, can you take your watch to “any watchmaker” to be serviced, if not it’s worthless.
Can you ACTUALLY afford it though. Like sure you have the cash, but many other obligations... sigh
I have the blue Citizen. My daughter picked it up in Japan for me for $509. Crazy beautiful and value.
It looks amazing. If I would go to Japan I might pick one up as well there. With a 9011 movement it is wonderful value for money. It is not quite a Grand Seiko dial, like the new Atera Valley, but for 1/15th of the money it is amazing value!
Andrew is King for this video. Spectacular line-up and the sly humor mixed with solid information on these pieces is what keeps me coming back to this content again and again. Cheers mate!
Brother, please - you're big time now - chapter breaks for the love of Patek Philippe.
Assuming you write your own commentary, Andrew, you need to give yourself a raise. TOO good today.
Meh. Trying way too hard. There sometimes is too much of a good thing.
@@TheProboscisNose Yeah, the alt-cycle in late 2017 was crazy.. I guess that's what you meant?
@@arnodeecastenada no babes, it wasn't.
Wowza that Farer is bloody stunning.
The Citizen Atessa, Casio Oceanus, and Siko Astron watches are next level watches at reasonable prices. Titanium, AR coating, etc. make them look and feel very high end.
“Shares more DNA than the cast of back door babes 6”
Pulitzer Prize winning stuff right there. 👏
Had to rewatchig that part to make sure I heard what I thought I heard, lol!
@ me too. 😂
This was a good one 😂
Probably his best line ever
"Now with more context you can't unhear!"
I love watching this channel not only for the content, but also for the wit! Thank you
I also love this Chanel
He never ever has a fuckin actual Watch on it but hey.
@@adrianhargreaves2854 lol......most of the channels who actually physically handle watches usually fail to point out what it's like to actually live with them as they have them on loan or flip them ASAP.
"You can treat it like a Victorian step-child, and those little hands will keep on sweeping." !
Awfull, but very clever and not nasty. More witty than most of today's stand up comedians.
@21:01 - "Joke removed at my wife's request".
Way to finger that pause button!
@@burymeinsmoke47 I just got lucky to be fair! lol
Hahaha I went to 1/4 speed to find out what it said 😂
@@burymeinsmoke47 I just got lucky! lol
@@burymeinsmoke47 Which sorta sounds like the joke AM likely removed.
@21:01: "Joke removed at at my wife's request"
I had to go back to check the not so subliminal frame on that. Nicely done.
Such a good selection of watches, thanks Andrew. There is a reason Rolex is so popular but some great alternatives like Glasshute!
Been looking forward to buying my first luxury watch and I hope it happens this month. I'm stuck between an AP or a Roley ☺ Let’s say you came into some extra funds and bought a luxury watch for say 20k, how much could you sell it for say in two years if you needed the cash? Do they appreciate in value over time, or do they lose worth?
If you think you're not stable enough to afford one without going broke soon, you might want to reconsider and put your money into stocks, crypto or another solid investment instead. With the right F.A or by choosing the right things to invest in, you could grow your wealth to the point where you could afford an even better watch down the line all while ensuring your financial security in same 2 years. I say this from experience, having been in your shoes before. Today, I proudly own several high-end watches. Goodluck
💯💯💯
nice. this makes a lot of sense. been considering going into this crypto thing for some time now. heard its a nice way to make money bts. how can I get a nice f.a? and how expensive are they?
Well, you should start by looking out for those from credible firms and good track records. Also, make sure the person is licensed. Personally, I use Jonathan Ezekiel Blitz. He's good and you could also look him up too. And they're usually way cheaper than you would expect.
It's a small world! I recently met him at a conference my office organized just some days back... What are the odds I'd be scrolling through a video so out of the ordinary for me and come across this thread.. Really small world...
Love this episode. Very informative.
I have the Farer Cobb 3. its awesome
13:12 That whole bit was absolutely hilarious.
Amazing video as every time! 🤣
Now, for reasons I don´t fully understand (well, I actually do), my wallet is hiding behind the car keys, shaking and crying .... like I cannot see it....
"A font that seems angry somehow" literally burst out laughing in my quiet office.
21:01 Yeah, I saw it. Your wife was right. Nice one, Mr. Durden.
Black Bay Pro is the best Tudor currently available. There. I said it.
That Glashutte is the beez neez
Stay humble my brother ❤big fan here!
My collection ranges from Seiko and Hamilton to Rolex and Omega. Yet three of my most common wear pieces are an Oris Big Crown Pointer Date and a Grand Seiko Snowflake and Grand Seiko Snowy Valley. The GS’s are in the $6500 to $7,500 range, excluding taxes. IMO, GS represents tremendous value for money.
For the price of a Nintendo switch I can get solid real watches and not a happy meal toy that starts to fall apart within a week.
Armin Strom. Love that brand.
Thanks for your efforts Andrew
Don’t really see the point of the cheaper Japanese watches but some great pieces here. The Nomos, Farer and Glashutte seem like the most stylish and best for the money
where would one find this Liudas Norkus if they wanted to buy one? I can't seem to locate any for sale.
That was really funny the Victorian Stepchild thing.
I bought the Citizen from Sakura watches (the blue one) and it’s stunning , the strap is too thin so I replaced it with a OEM citizen bracelet and the watch is the cheapest grand seiko mechanical you could ever get 😎, just waiting for the first GS snob to tell me that’s no possible 😂
Which bracelet did you find for this?
@@mortyismeBoth Citizen NB1060 and NB1050 share the same bracelet. I've seen people buying NB1050 only to salvage the bracelet for their NB1060 watch. Alternatively, you could contact Citizen and buy the bracelet only.
@@mortyisme the bracelet for a NB1050-59 watch fits, I bought one from ebay (expensive though)
love the commentary! very entertaining watch. pun intended😁
Love my Sinn 365 SA Flieger, wears great on my wrist and ended up being my most worn watch.
i have the BB Pro and i thank all the You tubers who claimed it was to thick and unusable, paid £2400 nearly new - i can handle the girth so much i dont even notice it
That’s what she said
That’s what she said
Also, that is what she was saying
😂😂😂
What she said is that
K series/ head gasket. Love it, but I wonder how many people know why?
I did. Had a J reg Rover
Has a former S1 Elise owner, that properly made me laugh 🤣🤣
I have one Grand Seiko in my collection, and I love the quality, design and meticulous details but not a fan of the bracelet. If they change the bracelet and add micro adjustment to it, I will definitely get another one.
I have a SBGA415 and I really don’t mind the bracelet, it’s pretty nice but I agree the lack of micro-adjust is kind of annoying. At least give us 1 or 2 holes
Only got one, but if they put a glide lock on the fly adjustment, more customers would buy more because dials are beautiful.
Your videos are my guilty pleasure
The Orient Kamasu 2 in teal is $199 USD on Amazon. This automatic diver is high quality, beautiful, and for $199 it’s insane.
Great list as always but there a few micro brands sub $500 USD that offer really amazing value. Still you put several new pieces on my radar.
Thank you for the great content!
Had W reg integra type r 1.8 and it is genuinely the best front wheel drive car I've driven
I’d still buy one now if I could
The Tudor BB 58 Pro is the value package through and through here.
People in real life really like Tudor, I thought this brand only exists in RUclips watch channels, Tudor is spending lots of ad money on RUclips. I never met anyone who actually likes Tudor.
Love my Pro.
James May - Our Man in Japan reference noted 😂😂😂😂
11:14 after hearing this statement, I'll only fly if my pilot wears no water resistant watch 💀
Ginault is the literal best value for money
The wait while worth it. Can be long. I waited 5 months for my Silent Service. It's a ridiculous watch for the price though. Nothing is touching that.
The big watch cases with the smallish visable movement remind me of those jammie Dodger biscuits.
Prefer big movements.
It is such a coincidence that I had just finished practice with my three rattlers, Missy, Sally, and Grumpy Gerta, and had sat down to tend wounds/inject antivenom while watching this video of some of the BEST comedy on RUclips! Had to slow down the frame rate to see that interjected comment about the joke being removed at your wife’s behest. She is such a killjoy! LOL
I loved your comment about the Japanese domestic only watches!
Satire, irony, and wicked dark humor - this is the one channel to rule them all!
I’d write more but it seems Gerta got loose again, and she looks mad about that triple salchow I put her through.
Stay safe and I’ll try to do the same.
All the puns and innuendos are worth the sub, even if no watches were ever mentioned…
I think Louis Erard belongs on this list as well
Is the Sinn 356 for £1450 a mistake? I can't find one for that price.
Hot damn the writing is good on this one.
Love it 😍
That reference to the K Series was a moment of genius. Those who know….know 🤣🤣🤣
me and Doris wish you a happy day . our time of responding to this presentation comes 24 hours after it’s first transmission . we had a lovely uplifting day yesterday . not only did we have ebb tide , ipso fatso , acres of sand , but the sun shone . the wind blew strong southerly and invigorated us and sent our fetch ball miles with very little effort from me in the chucking of same . and we had company , namely Sarah , Doris’ best friend , and wife to me . although technically Doris owns this person she (Doris) allows her (Sarah) to sit indoors to crochet and cook whilst she (Doris) takes me out for walks . so it was nice of Doris to take us out together . we got back home relatively late so didn’t youtube you until next day . as per , excellent presentation , with such detail , historical and photographic , as to make the whole experience a real pleasure . the last few presentations featured words neither myself nor Doris had encountered in our fabled passages through time , and today was , not new , but left field , and we liked the way , ‘BIM’ , felt , rushing through our auditory circuits . as usual baggsies !!!!! l gooru 🎉
That Farrer is nice, I wonder why we do not see more Chrono+gmt complications, I assume its not expensive using SW530 since Farrer can price it below 2k Swiss
"You can treat it like a Victorian child, and those little hands will keep on sweeping" - this guy's got more bars than shady.
I’m not the only crazy person who thinks the MoonSwatch is good value for money, especially the moon phase ones
Resistance to stranger's vomit on the bus...measured like 20BARF?
This will be a new checkbox to add to my watch buying decisions, thank you! 🤔
I dont need or want a GMT or a chronograph..... so why did the Farer cause an increase in my pulse?
Citizen have too many good watches for me to chose. From the silverleaf to the series 8 gmt and their super titanium line.
I tried liking this video twice, hence unliking it... I saw it this time, but you are playing a dangerous game being that good.
I come here for the watches, I stay here for the puns.
Haha I’m the opposite.
@Chiller11 No wrong answers here :D
Lol, I'm with Chiller11 for the most part. I appreciate quartz watches and ACTUAL value, as opposed to "value" in watches way way into the diminishing returns realm.
So while Andrew's watches are gorgeous, they're not watches at all. They're jewelry/art. You'd be heartbroken if you put a scratch on any of them! That's not what wearing watches is about. So I endure his selection. Especially for a "value" edition where it's all the same watches as on any other of his videos...
Citizen use plastic gears in movements.Tissot too.I am not sure for other ones but i would avoid these 2 definitely!
"Bim, guess what..." 🤖 Gold standard genius, Mr Morgan. May is still laughing, as am I
“Fly adjacent” as a contrast to “on the fly”… Gold Star writing
Definitely some tongue twisters and great values here
The Highlife manages to irritate by not only having its maker and home town in a straight line instead of going with the subdial curves but also displaying financial quarters in the month subdial... very working class, if thats what investment bankers are.
Oh no. I can't believe it. 2 years. 2 years with barely a twinge of interest & they've finally done it. They've only gone & made a MoonSwatch I actually want.
An Earthphase! That's such a stupid/amazing complication! Earthphase! A moonphase is useless enough, let alone an Earthphase! Amazing.
I'd choose the citizen, but my budget is more associated with the casio.
It's just so so sad that the moonswatches scratch so easy 😢
ROFL… gets you in line at the DMV
The longines chronograph + moon phase watch was missed here ..in my humble opinion.
That FC is boss…has a Pan Am vibe in blue…
Nice selection of watches, Andrew! What do you think of the Rolex Sky-Dweller 336934? Would you consider that as a "value for money" watch?
"Hey, Bim! Guess what?" heheheh
I have the SRPE51, changed the glass out for a sapphire domed unit and lovely jubilee style bracelet from Marc at long Island watch....I'm all in for under 300 USD.
It’s a great watch, and you can get them for really great prices - I got a used SRPE53 for $115!
the "value" in the Moonswatch: it says Omega
Brilliant. Funniest one yet.
I forgot to mention in my other post - the Thai brand Wise (which I think is great value for the money) has their enamel dial 7 series back up for ordering! Ordered mine a few days ago!
I am hovering over the buy button on one of their other pieces. I wonder if they live up to the microbrand hype?
@@southbrit I have never seen any reviewer or other comments that are negative about any of their pieces. The Wise brand gets high praise from everyone. That enamel dial will scratch an itch I have for a great looking dress watch that doesn't make my CC weep. I hope you get one!
I’ve been trying to buy the ADX GMT, but it appears they’ve been out of stock on the bracelet model for many months 😢 The watches look really nice.
Edit: just looked at the site, looks like they’re finally on pre-order!
@ajmarion Yup that is the one to try alright. I guess I will have to go for it and see for myself. I love GMTs, and I am sad enough to want another in 904l just to see how good it is. If you go for one too I hope you love it!
That wife insert is genius
Not my normal price bracket purchase but I’ve just bought a stuhrling deapthmaster off Debenhams.. it’s reduced to £135 at the mo. It says the rrp is £1795. I know that’s not right and is about $700 on their own site. But still.. £135 for a Japanese automatic. Worth a punt imo and if it’s crap it’s only £135 lost.
The wife is always the final editor.
Out of the box the CW Sealander didn’t blow me away. It’s just turned out to be one of the most worn and very best in my collection.
I ordered one and was so excited to get it, out of the box I didn’t like it either, sent it back. Glad you’re pleased with it
@ which variant? I have green. finding the right strap was key. the canvas was weak, didn’t care for consort either but it finally found a home on black hybrid.
What the actual hell are you talking about that a plastic quartz watch is worth 250 bucks because it's got omega written on it in crayon?
Ya
Solid!
IWC really messed that one up. SUN, 31 and DEC at the top of the sub dials?? May as well rotate the main dial back an hour so 1 is at the 12 o'clock position.
I’ll bet that K-series ref went right (R)over most people’s head…
So many longines are serious bang for your buck. Love the channel but surprised there is more about them
Yep…Longines all the way👌
Good video
That Kudoke hand engraving looks just like the lino cut print my 7-year old daughter did, that I have stuck to our fridge.
Just bought the Casio and only 2:19 into the video. Could be an expensive video....
Edit: .... 11:20 and added a Nomos (tbf I've been meaning to get one for a while). Turning into a fun Sunday afternoon.
I don't see the Sinn 356 at your stated price anywhere. Not in the US, at least.
Have you checked your tariff situation recently?
You can get that Nomos with the open caseback for an additional 300.
For me, I'd take the Glashütte over the One. Maybe it's very similar, but there's something about that watch just looks better for less.
I like this channel, but damn, that music in between watches drives me nuts. Great video through!
Putting the OP41 and not the OP36 is factually inaccurate.
Good selection, but I’m disappointed due to the lack of high resolution shots that I’m accustomed to. I realize that Andrew can’t have access to all the watches he showcases, but using stock photo and zooming in looks pretty bad and grainy and takes away from his awesome production value.
Note on the CW Sealander (white dial): owned it, sold it because it was illegible as fuck. Take what you will from this.
Orient kamasu v2 .
Very Very Cool Channel!!!!!!!
I too appreciate the snarky commentary a la Ricky Gervais lol
Traded my Black Bay Pro and Cartier Tank Must Large in for an Explorer 36 and haven't looked back. The Pro did become thiccc and heavy over time. And the tank was being worn less over time.
Are timestamps illegal on this channel?
No, go ahead and chapter it for us.
I don’t think you need them, you don’t want to miss any of it
