  • A No snow sunny Saturday with my Trek Farley 9.6. If you have a dog you know the look they give you when they want to get outside and play. Yeah both of my 9.6’s gave me the same look… In lower Michigan it’s cold enough but no snow… The MTB trails are closed due to they are too wet or no snow. I just decided I need to get out and went to the local park. My local park is pretty boring but I made the best of it. On days like this I’ll ride Zwift. It keeps me fit and burns calories. The other option is in Ohio is Ray’s MTB park. The flow trail there is perfect for a fat bike.

    Awesome vid, love the humor. I just finished a grueling 19 mile ride w/2,000 feet of climbing & super tech downhills & I took an absolute beating as I’m still running the rigid fork, time to order the Wren!

      What an awesome ride! I'm jealous.
      I just put my WREN on this week :). I'm going to start playing with set up this week.
      Thanks for sharing.

    No snow here too. Got out on the 2023 Farley 9.6 Wednesday for a quick ride, what a difference between the bike I use for Zwift and it! So, mostly Zwift for me too. Got a nice workout today in, 3.5 hours and 40 miles. Is that the 9.6 Farley on your trainer? Didn't think a fat bike could fit on a trainer?
    Fun video!

      Sounds like a awesome ride! I’m jealous. We both have 2023 9.6 - does that make us cousins? :)
      That’s cool that you use Zwift also.
      My Wahoo Kickr has my road bike on it. That bike has seen daylight twice in its lifetime :)

      @@fatride lol -not seeing daylight! My Kicker has a recycled beer can on it, a Trek Marlin 8. Bought it with the Kicker and don't think the two of them will ever part ways 😂

    Someone needs some snow!!! Lol..just curious? Which one of those suspension forms you like better, the Bluto or Wren?? I have not ridden suspension but I am seriously considering it....everyone says go for the Manitou....just curious your opinions

      :) Thanks for the comment. I just got the WREN let me put some time on it and I'll let you know. I can say this the sales people at WREN are awesome! I'm going to try to work with their team on set up and see how that goes.

    What’s your PB around the indoor bike park? I can see idle minds planning a timed event 😅. Strava segment?

      Hello, the last time I was there my hand was in a splint... To tell you the truth I was having so much I have no idea how laps I did that day. I'm with you on doing a time trail on the flow course.

      @@fatride so you know you have to do a 2022 vs 2023 timed event now right 🤪. The trick I think is not being too technical
      and find the fast lines.

    • @fatride
      @fatride  Год назад +1

      @@-M-2-K- :) Next time I go I will bring both bikes. The 2023 with 3.8" tires and SPD pedals will have the advantage though... I think you are correct though picking the fastest lines and holding momentum would be key.

    Also… did you say you are running a Large in the 2022 9.6 model? What’s your height and inside leg if that’s not too much detail to ask 🫣. Trying to figure out sizing 🤪

    • @fatride
      @fatride  Год назад +1

      Hello
      Believe me I wished I could have asked someone…
      My 2022 is a large. I’m 6’2” my normal pant length is 32” or 33”
      The large works but my seat post is out always. If I was running a standard seat post it would need to be XL length…
      The other thing is the has a shorter top tube which for me was too short with the stem the bike comes with.
      For me the XL just fits better.
      Check out this video for what it looks like visually

      Any other questions don’t hesitate to ask.
      I have both the XL and L right here so fire away with any questions

      @@fatride thanks really helpful. I’m a couple of inches shorter then you with same inside leg. I’m leaning towards the Large frame… have you explored the Bontrager stems with Garmin and Light mounts?

      @@-M-2-K- Hello, I went to a Easton longer stem. Which really helped. I use the Bontrager 1000 lumen which has worked out pretty good for the night riding I do.
      Awesome to hear you are looking at getting a Farley. I guess that would make us Farley brothers :)
