    From Northern Ohio and it’s not even a question. The answer is TIRES! Believe it or not, great snow tires and FWD will offer better control and braking in heavy ice and snow than AWD and all season.

    • @Johnnyscarcarereviews
      @Johnnyscarcarereviews  2 года назад +3

      Thank you Sharon for thst excellent intel. AWD is about accelerating. Braking g comes down to tires and great winter tires do indeed help propel the vehicle and yes at times Moreso than an AWD on some ordinary tires. Thank you for watching and for your accurate, intelligent insight. Your help is appreciated!

      Is there a really good all season tire? I’m considering getting the maverick. I like in the suburbs outside of Philadelphia so we get our fair share of snow. I was wondering if the AWD is worth it or if I could get away with FWD and save some money. I don’t plan on driving off road so I was curious if instead of changing tires in the winter if there was a really good all season tire that I could use?

      Sounds like there's a software update coming, targeting late March, to address this. It doesn't seem to affect every vehicle.
      "Some 2022 Maverick and 2020-2022 Escape vehicles equipped with a 2.5L full hybrid electric vehicle (FHEV) powertrain may exhibit an idle surge and/or rough idle with high temperature in the catalytic convertor and sulfur odor in the cab. This may be due to the software installed in the powertrain control module (PCM).This condition does not affect vehicle durability and no additional diagnosis or service is required for this condition at this time. Inform customers that they can continue to drive the vehicle and engineering is currently developing a software update that is expected in the last week of March 2022. Once the softwareupdate is available, contact the customer and schedule a follow-up appointment for repair."

I had nokian tires on one Bronco and K02 be of good rich tires on the other. I noticed the difference in extreme temperatures. We don't have tires that can handle the snow, salt to lay, the equipment to lay the salt, or the equipment to plow. Additionally it rarely snows and instead sleets. Couple this with everyone on summer / all season tires and you have a giant skating rink with butter for shoes.

    The Ford Maverick cannot handle 14 inches of snow in all wheel drive

    • @Johnnyscarcarereviews
      @Johnnyscarcarereviews  2 года назад

      Did that happen to you? My yard had about that much snow and while od go through it with the Bronco I would certainly not with the maverick

    • @rotart12arx3
      @rotart12arx3 2 года назад +2

      For places where you get that much snow the all season tires will not handle it for almost any vehicle. That is why in Canada you see 4 studded snow tires mounted for every winter.

    At what speed does the electric motors kick on and off

    • @Johnnyscarcarereviews
      @Johnnyscarcarereviews  2 года назад +1

      It can turn on and off at all normal driving speeds including highway. A better way to look at it is thst it kicks off when thei is above minimal strain or when the battery is low. Often the 2 systems work together at the same time for overall great fuel economy

      Ford can't even make the Mavericks they have already sold much less a new version.

    • @Johnnyscarcarereviews
      @Johnnyscarcarereviews  2 года назад +1

      No word yet. Choice is make an ST or risk diminishing the Raptor Name if it's not an offroad jump hitting beast. With unibody can you have an extreme offroad jumping truck? Time will tell what officially gets selected. With unibody I'd suspect an ST but not sure a Raptor Maverick will happen.

      Actually fwd truck = bad has been the general consensus for decades and it is on this point that I think Ford is not to blame in not assuming thst for the first time a fwd small truck would be a crazy popular truck with much more demand for fwd than AWD.

    • @Johnnyscarcarereviews

      Also being that the Hybrid Maverick does not try and have reproductive activities with itself could you consider editing your comment to the use of an adjective that better describes what you are trying to say such as pitiful or clumsy. I alsonworroed the fwd Maverick would be clumsy or pitiful in the snow but it did great.
