your a rare bread of teacher that most people only get to experience one or twice in their entire schooling. Someone who commands respect from students through personailty and knows how to teach and build flawlessly. You have earned a subscribe.
This guy is honestly a great teacher. When has anyone ever had a math class that sounds cheerful? Even if it's somewhat dramatized so what? Then they're tricking theirselves into being happy about math for the camera, win win for the teacher either way.
It's sad you're teaching me thru RUclips when I paid extreme amounts of money to watch someone spit verbal garbage for an hour at a time. Finals tomorrow and you're going to save me. Thanks,
my professor has tenure, and the first day of class he literally said, "I have tenure, so it doesn't matter if you write reviews on me". He doesn't even take questions in class, he just says. If you need help, go to a tutor.I hate that he takes attendance when I learn better with finding online videos.
mariashirleyyy I got so much respect for this comment. This is exactly why I’m here on RUclips bc my teacher is well I’m going to stop there I’m so Frustrated
I'm an older adult taking a college level of math (algebra) and I find that your style of teaching is wonderful. If I had you in high school I probably would not dislike math the way I do today. Thanks for you, and yay to math.
Agreed! if I had gotten this man as my math teacher, then I would've graduated. Thanks to Yaymath that I can finally learn college algebra in my late 20s.
I love that he is so patient and helpful with his students. No question is too dumb; he always gives an answer. If more teachers were like him, learning would be more fun and a more positive experience. You can tell he loves his job and his students. Plus, he's very easy going and humorous. No wonder students shout, "Yay Math."
I'm 27 years old, and haven't done math since grade 11. I'm taking math 12 to upgrade to get into nursing school. I really struggled to learn with my current teacher's style, but you made this concept so easy to understand. As a fellow teacher, I really admire your approach in the classroom! Keep making this amazing videos! You are helping so many people! Cheers!
I’m watching this the day before my exam and your energy and whole presence is making me feel less stressed for my exam by a long shot and overall is making me feel so much happier. I wish I had a math teacher like you.
I asked my math teacher to clarify somethings regarding this topic 3 days b4 my diploma, and she replied with "You're too late. I'm very busy grading things right now, so I can't help you. Good luck with your exam." Incredibly helpful and kind teacher, I know.
Hi Ralph! You're totally right. I rely on students to make calculations while teaching, which is a huge amount of trust. I went in and added a comment box at the time you pointed out. I really appreciate your pointing it out, thank you so much.
I wish I had a math teacher like you. You inspire motivation by being motivated, my teachers on the other hand recite text books and yawn. Thanks for all the great work you do, you have really been helping be through Algebra.
I HAVE SAID FOR YEARS YOU ONLY HAVE A FEW REAL INSTRUCTORS...THE REAL ONES CAN GET ALMOST ANYBODY TO LEARN.....THANKS FOR BEING A.." REAL ONE"... LOVE THESE KIND OF TEACHERS!!!!
Im in College 163 Precalc and want to say thank you. its been 15 yrs since h.s and when you dont use it you lose it.. I am trying to refresh all my basic theory and relearn my basic founations in math and also teach my son. You have made my learning easy. Why memorize what you can derive for yourself. Thank you very much for teaching your audience how to think about the information given and ask the right questions to get the right answers. Your the best
I have to teach this lesson in class tomorrow as a student in a teacher prep program and it has really given me a fresh outlook on the concept. Thank you so much!
I'm in Algerbra II, right now, haven't learned anything about logarithmic equations and I am taking a calculus placement test in the next few weeks. This video helped out a lot to put me in the direction I'm headed in. I know I have a lot more to learn. I hope more of your videos can help me as I prepare for the upcoming test.Thank you.
I'm a new teacher and need to watch videos to try and perfect my craft. I frequently tell my classes to WATCH VIDEOS! Hearing the content from multiple sources increases understanding. Good luck to us all! :)
Thanks so much for sharing this video. I am taking College Algebra in college and we are learning the Properties of Logarithms. I was really confused yesterday. Your video helped me understand it more. Thank you again..
A lot of people are giving this guy a bunch of crud about his teaching methods, but I kind of like it! Being a twenty year old who had 50s parents, I have been pretty cool with everything. I go to the beat of my own drum and do my own thing. I'm not "hip" but I also am not uncool either. But most of my math teachers growing up were pretty scary and would often become angry or condescending when one would ask them a question, and I never was able to learn math the right way. For the two wonderful teachers I actually had, it was mostly too late for them to teach me because they came during high school when I was put into the "on level" classes, where they mostly treat kids who aren't good at school as degenerates... (it's the truth honestly...) This guy keeps things lively though. He makes jokes and has fun with it. Does he have a hard time pulling the students back in at some points? Yeah, but so what? That's a lot better than having to reel in an already bored AND uninterested class. (I've seen that too many times to count...) His class is actually asking questions and making points. They're observing things and being proactive! It's better to associate with the children to make them feel something, rather than have them feel unimportant and just sitting there, unsure of why they're learning in the first place. That's how I felt 3/4 of my life in school as I grew up, but it was teachers like him that snapped me out of that and said, "hey, you're here to gain knowledge so you can go places." and for those of you who aren't from the United States and are commenting on this video, I'd have to say, you are right. In most places, the teachers don't have to associate with the students, but you know what? It actually wouldve helped me more to have had teachers genuinely care about me and force themselves to remember what it was like growing up, and help me out a bit more. What any place needs is teachers like him that go out of their way to teach, and not just teach by their pay grade. Unfortunately though, our school systems are not what they used to be, and we should make them better, but instead our government spends its days squabbling over random unneccessary crap when it should be starting at square one: the education.
Thank you so much for these videos. I've been teaching myself the algebra for STEM majors at my college ahead of taking the class itself, and I was struggling with these logarithms to the point of getting a little discouraged. You really explain things well, and now I feel a lot more confident about being able to handle the classes ahead of me.
hi! im studying to become a math teacher and currently studying for my math cst teaching certification, you're a role model to me, I want to teach with enthusiasm like you, thank you
if my math teacher in high school was this fun to learn from i wouldn't have to be watching this awesome guy now for college. (mine was so boring could NEVER stay awake)
i know this is 3 years later, but i'm writing my math paper finals in privately in June, so no teachers or lessons, stressing outta my mind about how i'll get into the swing of things again cause it's been a while.....but this video just helped me loads! thank you
Excellent video with very clear, step-by-step explanations. Thank you so much for the service you provide in these videos: you are helping people to easily understand complicated math concepts.
My nightmare in this life is math !, but when I start watching your videos I start getting math so well ! And also getting marks !, I swear that my teacher thought that I'm cheating in her tests, but I'm not ! Thank you so much !! :)))
ok..sooo this has gotten me past intro algebra.. but, now I have watched every video for trig.. im hoping this helps me for finals this month.. when are you posting MORE trig??
Hi Dawn! I'll only be able to film more trig by the spring. I'm sorry if that's late for you. It's the only time I get a chance to film it. I appreciate the ability to be open with you about this and thank you so much for watching.
i dont usually write comments on videos like this but i just gotta say, you are by far the best math teacher i've seen in my life. The B E N thing was genius. I was so confused on my teacher's video that I had to find other videos on youtube to help me understand and you did it in just 3-4 minutes compared to my teachers 21 minute video of explaining the same thing. Thanks
Thank You So Much. I have a final coming up that includes logarithms and you explained it so clearly. I will recommend this tutorial of the Logarithmic Properties to my friends as well. Thank You!
thank you sooooo much. my teacher has been teaching this to the class for the past few days and i didnt understand it at all now i can work on my make up work that i owe
Thank you very much. From am an incoming college freshman, who never really understood logs, (which hurt me in calculus), this video actually helped me quite a bit. I feel ready to take the Math Placement Test. :)
O my gosh your videos are a life saver!!! I have my finals tomorrow and i've been up ever since 12am searching for a great teacher to teach me!!! thanks soo much! I'll be sure to Ace my exam! :)
at 12:48 a student was asking if the bases were not the same could you solve it and your response was that we would have to be given the decimal like the previous problem but if the bases are not the same then we can't combine multiply divide. so my question is if we have logs that are not the same base and were not given the decimals could we find the decimal and solve it that way?
omg mr u are the best every problem area i have in math i come to ur page and u actually explain it in a way i can understand it. Thanksss ur awesome keep making these videos please and thanks.!!
Excellent video! I have my final tomorrow and I knew nothing about log, now I feel like I have the knowledge needed to pass the exam, Thank you very Much!
Just wanted to say thank you so much, I understand math so much more after I watch the videos you create. I am a junior high school and math is not my strong suit and my teacher cant seem to get it through me.
dude youre FUCKING awesome. you made it so much easier to understand. my professor made it so that when I saw log on my test ALL I THOUGHT ABOUT WAS THE TREE OUTSIDE THAT WINDOW as I sat there confused and dazed
These videos are amazing. I will agree that the class needs to behave a little better, especially since they are posting these videos to the public and their behavior reflects on the instructor but still... these videos make things so much more simple than the books tell us and the teachers try to explain. And to those of you here who think school shouldn't be 'fun' and teachers shouldn't be our 'friends' you're a) making things sound way more extreme than they actually are and b) you're actually wrong. Students are more likely to succeed if they are active in their community, which includes school. This is why programs like student council and after school clubs and electives and sports are so important. Not to mention, and this is from my own experience, students also do better in classes where they feel closer to the teacher. My current American History teacher is very friendly, and very funny. In my personal opinion, and judging on the way the class acts and the grades we get in her class (we all have a B or higher) her friendly manor makes it easier for us to respect her, as we are able to talk to her and come to her with questions and concerns easier than a teacher that shuts themselves off from the students.
I sincerely enjoy and FULLY comprehend ProfRobBob videos, they have panned out to be extremely helpful and thanks to the prof I am seriously understanding the Logarithmic WORLD!!! I would like to request THO the DISMISSAL of the front row who cannot seem to be serious enough not to interrupt the courses VITAL information, Please GAG them or DISMISS them, PLEASE!!! Other than that everything is WONDERFUL Thank You!!
your videos always helped me n now after watching this 2 of the questions from here came in my secind term exams.thanx a lot for the help hope to see more of ur videos soon.keep up the good work!!
Correct me if I'm wrong but X=-2 should work for the equation since it still has to be inputted into the x(x-6), if we substitute using 8 we get 8(8-6)=16 (a positive number) and if we subsitute for -2 we get -2(-2-6)=16(same number and positive).

It's BUISNESS
To be honest I have learnt more about logs from a 17 minute video of yours than a entire week lesson from my teacher.
me tbh

Which video is the very first on logarithms? I'm taking an econometrics class where we're doing them, but I've never seen them before in my life (!!)
Wonderful way of teaching. He is full of energy and humour.
Hi Yaymath, I am having a hard time to determine the derivative of F(x)= 8^x/2^x. Can you help me? Thanks in advanced.
Excellent video! I have my final tomorrow and I knew nothing about log, now I feel like I have the knowledge needed to pass the exam, Thank you very Much!
This does help a lot, glad your on youtube!
This teacher is not only interesting ,entertaining but also makes maths looks so cheap👍
Your students are so lucky to have you as their teacher
At 9:26 instead of squaring 5 could you add log3 of 5 and log3 of 20?
Wow I now finally understand logs! Hopefully I'll do better on my log retake tomorrow!

Is there a way through logs to find x where 6^x - 5^x =11

But in x^2-6x-16 when factored what happened to 6x? Do i just ignore it? Thanks.
So is it fair to say in terms of logs,,subtraction= a fraction?
Thank you!! For quotient property, I've finally seen a coefficient in use
it's so nice to clarify concepts AND laugh a little so the stress level goes down
Blowing bubbles in a Maths lesson ? My teacher would have gone hairless.
thanks, your vid helped me study for my dreadful finals...and i got a 100%
You help me so much!!! So glad I came across your channel it's helped me study so much THANK YOU
how did you get the (x-8) (+2)???
your videos always helped me n now after watching this 2 of the questions from here came in my secind term exams.thanx a lot for the help hope to see more of ur videos soon.keep up the good work!!
Great teacher indeed. I enjoyed the video

You seem like an awesome teacher! Enough said... Back to study now

Sir thank you for making maths a more lovable subject. Such a pleasure to get you as my teacher.(Thank you)^infinity
You sir are the best mathematician, I had no damn clue on how to do this and had a quiz tomorrow....yet I learned it with you and passed the damn quiz
you are fantastic man.. I can easily understand and you make it easy you the best teacher
What about natural logs? What's the diff?
Keep the vids comin mate! from an Australian Math teacher drawing inspiration from Yay Math. Not sure about videoing in class laws here but hope it is ok.
What if you have a problem like log10 4+log10 w=10?
The how would you solve it??
Thank you very much for this video. It helps me to solve a logarithmic equation succesfuly. Regards
hey,
I have been watching your tutorial and i realized that it really help me a lot. thank you
Super awesome!! Although my math teacher is perfect, but I sure could use your videos when going over the topic!
Thank you for helping me ace my quiz tomorrow!!
Wish all math professors were like you! :(
It would've helped a little more if the reasons as to why logs act the way they do was explained, but this video did help quite a bit!
your a great teacher!! your helping me a lot pass my final !!!! Thank you....
Thank you yaymath ... you make me enjoy learning log.
I love America,
But I am from India...............
So energized lecture on logarithm
please post a video on exponential regression
3:48 log base 3 (5) = 1.46497..... so its rounded to 1.46? nbd just noticed.
Thanks so much, man. This is helping me with SAT Math Level 2!
thanks bro for the video it really helped me , by the way did they blow bubbles in some parts of the video.....
