"The Doctor" has never shared his real name. Only 4 characters, to my knowledge, have ever known it: his granddaughter, The Master, River Soong; & Clara. The first 2 are from his homeworld, he told River during a ceremony you'll get to see; & Clara discovers it by snooping in the Tardis library (you'll get to see.) The Auton makeup is probably a facial prosthetic. My first Doctor was #4, played by Tom Baker, when PBS bought the 2nd syndicated package (Doctors #4 thru #8.) Due to its intense popularity, they then bought the 1st syndicated package (Doctors #1 thru #4), so I've actually seen all of the classic series, just in an odd order. PBS also introduced me to Red Dwarf, another British scifi series that might be fun to review. Way back when, Dr Who was conceived as an educational show for children. The cast included a mysterious crotchety old man with a time travel machine, his teenaged granddaughter, & 2 of her teachers who, in the process of "rescuing" her, stumbled onto the fact that student & granddad are both aliens from a highly advanced civilization! The Doctor & his companions had adventures in many different periods of Earth's past...hence, the educational aspect. When the writers embraced the show's science fiction aspect by introducing an extraterrestrial menace, BBC wasn't sure it liked this change in direction, but the new format proved extremely popular! It was popular enough that they were faced with a real dilemma when William Hartnell, who played the original Doctor, took ill & was no longer able to continue the role. The writers' solution added a brilliant new dimension to the Doctor's legacy, while creating a perfectly reasonable "out" for lead actors wanting to leave the role. It's why so many diverse actors have played the Doctor over the years, & why a young man can be 900 years old. A documentary about creating the show & its very first ever episode is called An Adventure in Time and Space, & is worth watching, if you're so inclined. It's a docudrama reenacting the conception, casting, & production of the first episode with William Hartnell.
The VFX will, obviously, get better as the show's budget and age grows, but the loveable low budget camp is a classic element of Who from the original series that the modern run likes to reference and toy with even now 😁😁 The first era with Ecclestone is a pretty much perfect introduction to the Doctor's ethics, most prominent personality quirks and the modern show's lore, but there are definitely more serious emotionally-driven stories and amazingly written arcs to follow if that's more your thing! In fact, the "monster of the week" format is great fun and definitely one of the things that has contributed to the show being so successful for so long, but I'm a firm believer DW has some of the greatest singular episodes in television amongst all of those, and some of the most loveable and brilliantly acted "side characters" ever too. Just learn to suspend your disbelief, and you'll have a BUNDLE of fun!!! DW is for everyone 💝
@@reactingafool once you get into season 2 I would suggest adding torchwood to your wheel house . It's a spin off series of Doctor who focusing on aliens on earth . It is where they explore the Darker more Adult themes of the franchise. I can promise you. You won't regret watching Doctor who.
The mannequins are called the autons and have have first appeared in the original series in 1970 since the Third Doctor's era the Doctor your watching is The Ninth Doctor as played by Christopher Eccleston. Doctor Who was always creepy since 1963 wait till you get to a specific popular villain who are very scary.
The ideal age to start watching Doctor Who is about 4 - it will terrify, scare, amaze and fill you with wonder, and yes give you many sleepless nights and imagery youll never forget your whole life - then you grow up have kids of your own and put them through the same thing - and thats what generations of Brits have being doing since the 1960's!
@@reactingafool I should add that another reason we want to put our kids through the scares of Who is because its worth it for the Doctor. The Doctor is not a hero in the way a hero normally is, especially American heroes, the Doctors main power are his words, but one time showrunner Steven Moffat summed it up best- “Heroes are important. Heroes tell us who we want to be but when they made this particular hero they didn’t give him a gun, they gave him a screwdriver to fix things. They didn’t give him a tank or a warship or an X-Wing, they gave him a call box from which you can call for help and they didn’t give him a superpower or a heat-ray, they gave him an extra heart. And that’s extraordinary. There will never come a time when we don’t need a hero like the Doctor.”
I agree with starting at a young age. I had just turned 2 when series 5 came out and my dad was a whovian so he was persistent that I should watch it with him every Saturday evening. I loved all of it, even the more scary episodes. I think people underestimate young children’s ability to enjoy more complex tv shows and plot lines.
Wait... Jackie Tyler was the reason I keep adding the line "I know his/her is that, but that's not the point."!?! Wow... that is something that I just realise about my behaviour, god dammit! XD Anyway, welcome welcome, hope you enjoy your stay. I'm sorry that the seat will be a bit bumpy, and most likely will be like a rollercoaster ride, with full of emotion as extra experience. But I can guaranteed you is that... it's worth the ride~ :)
I am old enough to remember the Doctor who of old pre 2005. It originally started back in the sixties and the is a great drama produced by the BBC all about how it came on air. Every generation hads its favorite Doctor from their youth, mine was John Pertwee the 3rd Doctor. Even back then it was tongue in cheek but scary for its time and as kids we would often watch it peeking from behind cushions. Later David Tennent became a favorite although i always fancied Chrisopher Eccleston.
Welcome to your Doctor Who journey! I'd definitely recommend watching them all (not just the fan favorites), even if you don't react to each, because it's a one of a kind ride worth experiencing in totality. As with any show dealing with time travel, the story arcs require special attention, are often interconnected, and end with huge payoffs.
I was 10 when this aired which I think is about the right age. My parents had watched the original run. The first episode ever was in 1963 so next year is the 60th anniversary. The first season they had almost no budget to get the show back off the ground. It's definitely a bit cheesy but I think you'll really enjoy it. Just have fun and don't take it too seriously. There are some very intense fans out there so beware of spoilers and people complaining about the series in general. This version of the Doctor is the 9th incarnation and is 900 years old. That's as much as is worth you knowing for now
The first recording block on nuwho is infamous for being a production mess. The tone was wrong, so many things were goofy. It was so bad it led to Christopher Eccleston leaving the show after a massive falling out with the producers. It gets so much better the further this series goes on, and afterwards.
Welcome to Doctor Who! :-) My favourite TV show...ever! Truly unique. It has its ups and downs, sometimes it's just okay and sometimes it's fantastic. So many concepts and ideas to explore Enjoy!
In the UK the episodes from 2005 onwards are referred to as Series with the original TV series upto 1989 referred to as seasons to differentiate between the two.
Rose Tyler is played by Billie Piper, who started her career in the late 90s as a pop star, her first single was called "because we want to" in 1998 and in the video there's a spaceship and a Bouncer (doorman) who is a rhino who looks very similar to the Judoon who first appear in the "smith and Jones" episode of doctor who nine years later in 2007.
Casual doctor who fan here🙌 I rlly enjoy ur interview with the vampire reactions and so glad u gave doctor who a go! Totally agree with the episode being kind of scary. Doctor is sort of a mix of sci-fi, horror, comic and drama. But I think compared to some later episodes, this one’s creepiness is way behind😂 And I think doctor who is for children in some level. It’s like the standard childhood fantasy in the uk😅although Iv never understood why. Really glad u start from season one of the reboot. I think the first 5 seasons are the best, especially season 4, gem of all gems😍 Hope you could continue reacting to doctor who. It’s really looong but totally worth it! Great reaction!
Thank you for coming in and watching my reaction! 🙂 So I need to get to season 4 is what I'm hearing from you, alright 'll try to and should be able to based on this 1st episode's vibes.😁
It's common classification as kids show but while that's the core target audience it was never (iirc) produced by bbc children's dept but the drama dept - more aimed at family ie. 8 to 80....
The mannequins are so creepy but so fun to see 😅 This whole episode was great, I'll definitely be doing more episode reactions to this show. It has a great vibe to it 😎
Fyi.....going into this show just realize its a "family" show. Not a kid show. It has humor for adults, but its a show about life and death in the grand scheme of things..
15:38 I would watch this show with my grandparents when I was little, most of it I thought was thrilling and, yes, scary. BUT there is one episode alone that gave me horrible nightmares, (though it isn't the only episode that scared me just the only one to actually impact me) it's in season 3 tho so you won't have to worry about that for a while.
Well i'm already going to have nightmares through one episode, and you're telling me there is more nightmares to come, I'm going to have to get a nightlight if i keep reacting to this show! 😂
Welcome to the show and great to see a new person watching this great show! Basic background information - Russell T Davies is the showrunner for the early run of NuWho (Modern Doctor Who) and writes the first and last episodes with some a few in between, the showrunners set up the stories for the season and everything. Be careful when asking questions even if it's just a general thought - you want to make people watching your reactions know that if you ask a question you might not necessarily want an answer as it can give away major spoilers - ask questions but just be careful about it (this is if you decide to continue watching obviously). Enjoy the ride and I am looking forward to episode 2 reaction
I think this might be the most fun I've ever had watching a Doctor Who reaction! Really enjoyed this reaction video and definitely will be subscribing!
15:35 the only thing that gives me nightmares at this point in the show is Rose XD I hope you'll keep watching, cause the show gets better. Well, for a few seasons, anyway
Cheep effects are part of the fun of it and it kinda goes back to the early days of the classic DW from the 60s and 70.. they had a limited budget back then and it’s become kind of a joke. Still it’s just part of the campiness. The effects have gotten crazy good since 2005 though
13:26 yea that is his career now.😂😂 Massive fan of the show good to see someone new enjoying it for the first time. I recommend at least watching the first season before deciding if it is for you and if you want to drop it or not. Then there is classic who which has 26 seasons lol. I recommend at least watching modern who before watching the classic series. Note this is a sequel not a reboot . Even tho some fans say soft reboot. Have to take into account it is not a reboot but a great jumping on point for new fans. Also there is so many connections to the classic series.
IMO, the best seasons and episodes of the new doctor who is the first episode of season 3 and the last 4 episodes of season 3, _ALL_ of season 4, and then the three specials in between season 4 and season 5 (these episodes are only not part of season 4 on a technicality). I could write an essay on _why_ exactly I think the new show peaked there, but in case you watch that far I won't specify. But if you do watch any more, _those_ episodes are the best it has to offer. Really good episodes. EDIT: the twelfth doctor (you're watching the ninth doctor) is also really good, just doesn't have the writing that the tenth doctor does.
It's nice to see the callbacks to classic stories - there's 2 off the top of my head - when the autons(the dummies controlled by the nestines) first appeared theres a scene where shop dummies break out of the shop windows and also the doctor wrestling with the arm is reminiscent of the doctor wresting with the nestine,(i think) in the same story....
Thats cool in the first episode they did callbacks to the classic series, for someone like me who doesn't know it doesn't matter, but to the huge amounts of fans they have, it's smart they did that to start new who :D
@@reactingafool Also, in the classic series they didn't have the budget to show the shop windows breaking, which is why this episode made sure to include several shots of just that.
Despite some of the comments, the effects improve immensely...... in a few seasons you'll get worldscapes that wouldn't look out of place in star wars, and baddies that (in my opinion) are better rendered than most movie monsters.... you'll know when u get there...
So, if you ever see this comment; This modern version from 2005-Now is NOT a reboot, it's a revival and continuation of the original show, with Christopher Eccelston being the 9th Doctor. Im sure you already knew this but don't worry, you don't exactly need Classic Who to watch New Who (we separate the eras of 1963-1989, and 2005-Present into ClassicWho and NewWho) but I would recommend it ESPECIALLY because In the later seasons they start celebrating the shows history alot (I have the perfect episode recommendations for which Classic episodes to watch if you don't feel like watching THE ENTIRETY of Classic who along side New Who) This show is a Legendary British icon and probably my favorite show ever made, have fun in this wonderful journey. Edit: LOVE the Oswald poster, I adore him
ClassicWho and NewWho, alright I'll try and remember that. once i start getting deep into newwho, i may hit some of those classicwho episodes that are helpful to the history of the show. Thanks for the information and hopefully i get more episodes in soon! :D
As a follow up to my previous comment assuming you've read it all, here are my Classic Who recommendations. Classic Who worked a bit differently, instead of traditional episode to episode they decided to do Serials, with each individual episode being 25 minutes long, like 1 Serial can be anywhere from just 2 episodes long, all the way up to 12 EPISODES... But there was only ever one Story that was 12 episodes long so no worries. I'll give 1 for each Doctor, and probably another set of recommendations if it catches your eye First though, watch An Unearthly Child Part 1, the very first episode of Doctor Who. Yeah not watching this atleast eventually would be a sin. Anyway onto the actual recommendations 1st Doctor- The Aztecs (1964); 4 Episodes. Typically people would recommend other stories of his but the main appeal of his era to me are historicals, since, fun fact, Doctor Who was originally a kids show meant to teach history and Science, this one especially being a great example. 2nd Doctor- Tomb of The Cybermen (1967); 4 episodes. This is quintessential Doctor Who and is literally the story Matt Smith watched to prepare playing for The Doctor. This is just an awesome story man what can I say. 3rd Doctor- Terror of the Autons (1971); 4 episodes. Hey look, you just saw the Autons here in Rose, let's see them again in their second ever appearance. Whenever someone asks "what's the most 'Third doctor' story ever to third doctor" I say this one, it has everything that makes the era so unique. 4th Doctor- Genesis of The Daleks (1975); 6 episodes. This is often regarded as one of if not the greatest Doctor Who story ever made and is a must watch for ANY fan. 5th Doctor- Kinda (1982); 4 episodes. This is a tough call, but I'm gonna have to with this one. It's a very unique choice and not the most conventional but it works. All I can say is watch this one during series 3 of New Who. 6th Doctor- Vengeance on Varos (1985); 2 Episodes although for some reason Season 22 had 45 minutes length episodes. Whenever anyone asks what the best 6th Doctor story is, most usually say this for very good reasons 7th Doctor- Remembrance of The Daleks (1988); 4 episodes. Yeah despite not actually being the 25th anniversary, most people credit it as such, it has just everything, alot of callbacks to An Unearthly Child, an interesting plot, it's awesome 8th Doctor- the one and only story he has (outside of Audio dramas), the TV Movie from 1996. Yep after the show got canned in 1989 they tried to revive it in 1996 for American audiences... It did not go well, but do give it a watch, it's REALLY fascinating. Well assuming you've seen this and my other comment, I wonder what your thoughts are, I'm always excited to see new whovians.
Great reaction, made me subscribe. I first watched it when I was 10, the 5th Doctor (early eighties) was my first (this is the 9th), later got my children hooked, and one day at university, one of my daughters sighted that 'nobody' of her friends watched Doctor Who and another student replied he would give it a go if she would watch 'his' show (Stargate) and now they are married. We still watch Doctor Who - live - together cause it really is a family show and when it get's into the core of your heart and soul, you can't stop loving it. Be warned. Also be careful with *spoilers* cause in this show, even *spoilers* are *spoilers*.
> one of my daughters sighted that 'nobody' of her friends watched Doctor Who and another student replied he would give it a go if she would watch 'his' show (Stargate) Seems to me everyone won in that arrangement > and now they are married. (hadn't read that bit before my previous comment) Hey, I was right!
@@valmoer It gets even better (thinking this is not a spoiler): his last name is Paternoster and they said, when they have kids, they'll call them selves 'the Paternoster gang'.
The baddies here (the plastic autons) first appeared in the early 70s for the third doctors first story..... they couldn't afford to show them breaking glass of the dept stores and so you just heard the sound of breaking glass.... the showrunner for this reboot of Dr who loved the original and that's why he brought them back for his first episode, and he MADE SURE u saw them break the windows....
Doctor Who is a show that can be whatever it wants to be. Genres are its playground. Throughout its history, its unofficial goal was finding ways to frighten children, creating the meme (before there were memes): watching from behind the sofa. It's what made it so popular, but also got pushback from some conservative circles, famously led by Mary Whitehouse in the 1970s.
Very cool, so a show that could really do just about anything they wanted and were able to based on the landscape of time travel (the tardis), alien worlds, and the show/writers enjoying pushing the show in a bunch of different directions, is that right? something like that... 🤔 That's awesome to make a show that has that kind of range and uses it well. I really may need to dive deep into Doctor Who after everything the community is commenting about it, and after that first episode being so enjoyable.😃
This is my favorite show of all time. I love watching reactions of people going through the show for the first time. I subscribed to you channel and I can’t wait to watch you react to the series. Hopefully you can avoid as many spoilers as possible!
You can't pick an age that Doctor Who is aimed at, it doesn't really work like that. It's the archetypal family show, the show that can be enjoyed by all ages on different levels, with very adult jokes and themes that go over the heads of the small children watching it uncritically.
THERES NO SPOILERS IN THIS COMMENT doctor who was really cheesy due to 2005 tv in Brittan being cheesy. it does get less and less cheesy as it goes on but its the charm that makes it special. i will say doctor who is always scary. some episodes even being directly pushed to the extremes of fear. also one of the best things about doctor who. and what to keep focus on is the damn soundtrack! its so good. and this show will make you cry at some point. i cant wait to see you watch more
All of that sounds correct, cheesy and creepy, and amazing 😀 my episode 2 reaction is coming out at noon today, so hopefully i did well and you enjoy it 🙂
Regarding the lore of the Doctor's name, in universe of the show he is only known as the Doctor. However, when the British media often refer the character in promotional spots or entertainment news, they will call him Doctor Who--it's just easier for them since he's the central character.
@@reactingafool You'll notice that Christopher Eccleston is credited as playing "Doctor Who" in the credits. :-) It's a reference to the mysterious identity of the character. He refers to himself as "the doctor", but we don't exactly know his history or identity. He is a "man of mystery".
@@Exlonox32 And the credit changes depending on preference of the the producer or starring actor. For example, Patrick Troughton was credited as "Dr. Who" but Peter Davison was credited as "The Doctor."
And for the record, that episode is very much seen as a good introduction, but overall quite an average episode. You should definitely do the full show as reactions on here - it's a great way to grow your channel and you'll love the show too - if you enjoyed that one, it generally only gets better.
Doctor is his name. "Doctor Who?" is The Ultimate Question. Gallifreans called themselves with these significant words that define their nature through all the incarnations. Doctor can change bodies and personalities - Doctor can be male of female, tall or short, sweet or rude, red or blonde, old or young - but he remains the Doctor. There's also another of his kind that were called the Master. He is the antagonist. Actually Doctor has another name - but noone ever voiced it. It's kind of an intimate thing he can only tell to the closest people.
This was the most entertaining reaction to this episode I've watched for a long time (and I've watched a lot of them lol). It helps that I couldn't stop looking at your eyes, just FYI. :D
Do all of us a favor please and dont look to the camera while you talking. You are missing stuff to see. You are not paying 100% attention that way. Also you talk too often too much at once to the camera while the video runs. We want to see you having fun with the show and react to it, instead of childish behavior from a grown up man !!
Whelp, time to get invested in another DW reaction series for a whole year in the hope they get to season 11-13 (may favourite seasons) and actually like those
Oh, my! I love Doctor Who. Watched entire series starting with classic from 60s. I can recommend "Silence in the library" episode. And "The Empty Child" + "Doctor Dances" These are my favorite of all times. Also I love Amy+Rory arc. Actually there are lots of episodes that are outstanding. The Family of Blood The Satan Pit Blink The Doctor's Daughter The Beast Below Vincent and the Doctor - (this one's sooooooooo bittersweet) The Doctor, the Widow and the Wardrobe The Snowmen Heaven Sent + Hell Bent many more probably - but if you are not going to watch it all - watch these ^_______^ The current Doctor is nice - but the screenplay for the last seasons is horrible. Hope they fix this. Very sorry for Jodie Whitacker - she could have been great Doctor.
Thank you so much for this list of great episodes.🙂 If I can't do all of the show for some reason, then yeah I didn't even think that I could do some of the fans' top episodes instead, that's brilliant, thank you! 😀
The various spin-offs are aimed at specific age groups, but the main show is specifically meant to be for the “whole family”. FYI, the second episode is … umm … let’s just call it “Barmy” … don’t let it throw you off the whole show.
@@whereami2477 back in 2005 when I first started watching, that second episode almost turned me off the whole show. Luckily I stuck with it and am now a whovian. It's so popular and the fans of the show seem to absolutely love it and vouch for it, and after that first episode I can tell why. I definitely should be doing some more episodes at some point🙂

XD
Anyway, welcome welcome, hope you enjoy your stay.
That's as much as is worth you knowing for now
900 years old, whattttt! That's nuts, and awesome. His character seems so loose and funny, but stern when he needs to be, I loved it 😬
The first recording block on nuwho is infamous for being a production mess.
Thank you for the welcome pleasantries, it should be a fun time 😀
In the UK the episodes from 2005 onwards are referred to as Series with the original TV series upto 1989 referred to as seasons to differentiate between the two.
Casual doctor who fan here🙌
I rlly enjoy ur interview with the vampire reactions and so glad u gave doctor who a go!
Totally agree with the episode being kind of scary. Doctor is sort of a mix of sci-fi, horror, comic and drama. But I think compared to some later episodes, this one’s creepiness is way behind😂
And I think doctor who is for children in some level. It’s like the standard childhood fantasy in the uk😅although Iv never understood why.
Really glad u start from season one of the reboot. I think the first 5 seasons are the best, especially season 4, gem of all gems😍
Hope you could continue reacting to doctor who. It’s really looong but totally worth it!
Great reaction!
Thank you for coming in and watching my reaction! 🙂
So I need to get to season 4 is what I'm hearing from you, alright 'll try to and should be able to based on this 1st episode's vibes.😁
Season 4 of DW >> most seasons of television ever
It's common classification as kids show but while that's the core target audience it was never (iirc) produced by bbc children's dept but the drama dept - more aimed at family ie. 8 to 80....
The mannequins first appeared back in 1970s Dr Who. They were probably even more frightening!
The mannequins are so creepy but so fun to see 😅
This whole episode was great, I'll definitely be doing more episode reactions to this show. It has a great vibe to it 😎
Yeah.... I think there also was a sofa that devoured people. Like... a plastic one.

Fyi.....going into this show just realize its a "family" show. Not a kid show. It has humor for adults, but its a show about life and death in the grand scheme of things..
Yeah that feels like the perfect description of what this show feels like so far, I agree with your assessment 🙂
@@reactingafool no other show has a higher kill/death count. Since death is the one thing we all have in common. Its the story of all of us.
15:35 the only thing that gives me nightmares at this point in the show is Rose XD
I hope you'll keep watching, cause the show gets better. Well, for a few seasons, anyway
Im pretty sure I'm going to shoot episode 2 today, and hopefully get it up sometime in the next couple of days 🤘🙂
Great to see you reacting to Doctor Who.
Glad I did, it was a great watch, real fun 😃
Yet another channel I’m subscribing to to keep up to date on their doctor who Journey
Oh man I hadn’t watched this show in forever. I’m definitely subscribing for this. Good stuff dude I hope your channel grows.
Thank you for the subscribe! 🤘🙂
It's nice to see the callbacks to classic stories - there's 2 off the top of my head - when the autons(the dummies controlled by the nestines) first appeared
theres a scene where shop dummies break out of the shop windows and also the doctor wrestling with the arm is reminiscent of the doctor wresting with the nestine,(i think) in the same story....
This show will have you experience every emotion out there, "Never cruel or cowardly, Never give up Never give in."
Despite some of the comments, the effects improve immensely...... in a few seasons you'll get worldscapes that wouldn't look out of place in star wars, and baddies that (in my opinion) are better rendered than most movie monsters.... you'll know when u get there...
Awesome, can't wait! But until then, it's super fun seeing the low budget stuff too, it has a great feel to it🙂
@@reactingafool brilliant... your gonna honestly love it
I think with the budge they have from start this looks more a show from the 80s, but I still love it! And Eccleston is my Doctor! =)
So, if you ever see this comment; This modern version from 2005-Now is NOT a reboot, it's a revival and continuation of the original show, with Christopher Eccelston being the 9th Doctor. Im sure you already knew this but don't worry, you don't exactly need Classic Who to watch New Who (we separate the eras of 1963-1989, and 2005-Present into ClassicWho and NewWho) but I would recommend it ESPECIALLY because In the later seasons they start celebrating the shows history alot (I have the perfect episode recommendations for which Classic episodes to watch if you don't feel like watching THE ENTIRETY of Classic who along side New Who)
This show is a Legendary British icon and probably my favorite show ever made, have fun in this wonderful journey.
@@reactingafool well my first set of recommendations are in the comments, but I do have more for after those so if your interested, there you go
As a follow up to my previous comment assuming you've read it all, here are my Classic Who recommendations. I'll give 1 for each Doctor, and probably another set of recommendations if it catches your eye
First though, watch An Unearthly Child Part 1, the very first episode of Doctor Who. Yeah not watching this atleast eventually would be a sin. Anyway onto the actual recommendations
1st Doctor- The Aztecs (1964); 4 Episodes.
Whenever anyone asks what the best 6th Doctor story is, most usually say this for very good reasons
7th Doctor- Remembrance of The Daleks (1988); 4 episodes. Yeah despite not actually being the 25th anniversary, most people credit it as such, it has just everything, alot of callbacks to An Unearthly Child, an interesting plot, it's awesome
8th Doctor- the one and only story he has (outside of Audio dramas), the TV Movie from 1996.
Great story about your daughter. 🙂 Thank you for the subscribe! Episode 2 reaction coming out shortly 😁
> one of my daughters sighted that 'nobody' of her friends watched Doctor Who and another student replied he would give it a go if she would watch 'his' show (Stargate)
Seems to me everyone won in that arrangement
> and now they are married.
That's awesome true fan knowledge right there, love it 😀
I first watched Doctor Who in the 70s and the Autons were in that. There were way more scarier with wigs on lol I was about 7 in 8 at the time
They were scary enough as is, no wigs required 😂
That's awesome to make a show that has that kind of range and uses it well. I really may need to dive deep into Doctor Who after everything the community is commenting about it, and after that first episode being so enjoyable.😃
What a great show.... stick with it, you'll love it.......
Oswald the Lucky Rabbit!! More scary is on the way.
Good! BRING IT ON!! :D

Thank you so much for the subscribe! The first episode was so fun, so I should continue to do this series 🙂
I mean I watched it and never got a nightmare, the empty child however... I was so scared I threw up and wouldn't sleep on my own (I was 7)
Make it to episode 8. If you make it that far you'll never stop. It gets so good. :-)
I'ma try to get there and beyond, but we'll see🤞
I am so glad you didn't skip Nine
You can't pick an age that Doctor Who is aimed at, it doesn't really work like that. It's the archetypal family show, the show that can be enjoyed by all ages on different levels, with very adult jokes and themes that go over the heads of the small children watching it uncritically.
The fact the whole family can enjoy it is probably one of the reasons it got so popular 🙂
If you think this gives people nightmares wait for blink
I don't know what blink is, but I'll start bracing for it now 😉
Great reaction, this is tied for my all time favorite show, so I am happy another reactor is watching it
Glad you enjoyed it! I should keep putting out episodes here and there, so be on the watch out 😉
THERES NO SPOILERS IN THIS COMMENT
doctor who was really cheesy due to 2005 tv in Brittan being cheesy. it does get less and less cheesy as it goes on but its the charm that makes it special. i will say doctor who is always scary. some episodes even being directly pushed to the extremes of fear. also one of the best things about doctor who. and what to keep focus on is the damn soundtrack! its so good. and this show will make you cry at some point. i cant wait to see you watch more
All of that sounds correct, cheesy and creepy, and amazing 😀 my episode 2 reaction is coming out at noon today, so hopefully i did well and you enjoy it 🙂
Regarding the lore of the Doctor's name, in universe of the show he is only known as the Doctor. However, when the British media often refer the character in promotional spots or entertainment news, they will call him Doctor Who--it's just easier for them since he's the central character.
Gotcha alright, thank you for that :)
Looking forward to your Who journey

And for the record, that episode is very much seen as a good introduction, but overall quite an average episode. You should definitely do the full show as reactions on here - it's a great way to grow your channel and you'll love the show too - if you enjoyed that one, it generally only gets better.
Good to know since more Dr who reactions will be coming 🤘😃
Doctor is his name. "Doctor Who?" is The Ultimate Question.
Gallifreans called themselves with these significant words that define their nature through all the incarnations. Doctor can change bodies and personalities - Doctor can be male of female, tall or short, sweet or rude, red or blonde, old or young - but he remains the Doctor.
There's also another of his kind that were called the Master. He is the antagonist.
Actually Doctor has another name - but noone ever voiced it. It's kind of an intimate thing he can only tell to the closest people.
Good stuff to know; I forget stuff all the time, hopefully I remember this as I'm watching 😁
You should watch „The Unearthly Child“. This is how it all started 😁
