There are so many funny bits in this episode. "bitchy trampoline", Toxic by Britney Spears being called classical music, and "what are you gonna do, moisturize me?"
Yeah hearing toxic by Britney spears was cool for sure, I enjoyed this entire episode 😀
It's so rare to see someone start this for the first time like 17-18 years later
I'm excited. My 12 year old and I were just talking about starting the season over....
I must be some kind of rarity then 😉
I think the phrase "making about" is the British way to say "screwing around".
It's "mucking" about, not "making". But yeah, you pretty much got the meaning right.
"TARDIS can do stuff like that?"
TARDIS.... is alive. 💕
Yeah. We celebrate days when people don’t die. Not dying is rare.
The Doctor Who theme music was created in 1963 and, being one of the first electronic music signature tunes for television, it is widely regarded as a significant and innovative piece of electronic music, recorded well before the availability of commercial synthesisers.
Long before the end of the series, when you hear "dumdum dumdum dumdum dum, dumdum dumdum dumdum dum, dumdum dumdum dumdum dum, dumdum dumdum dumdum dumdo we dooo, weee do weeee, do we doo, do we do we, we doooooo, .... " your heart starts beating faster, or at least, you can't hold still during the openingstune. Thems the rules.
Anyway, fun reaction, though your moral compass is in sinc with this show, so I'm sure you will hang on to this series, if not for the cheesy stories, the humor will please you.
That's cool about the theme music. Im definitely enjoying the vibes its giving off 😁
Doctor Who began as a children's show back in 1963. It has become an all ages show, meant to be something the whole family can watch together and that all ages can enjoy. I'm really enjoying seeing someone discover one of my all time favorite shows. I'm American, but I was living in England in 2005 when this came back on the air after more than 20 years off. It was so much fun to get swept up in the absolute Doctor Who mania that took over. I only just found your channel this eveningand I'm definitely sticking around to see more.
Doctor Who is mostly aimed at kids when it started back in the 60's it was intended to be a children's show but then adults became invested as well and the show grew more popular so it became abit more grown up as the years went on.
It's a family show sort of like "Star Wars" sometimes Doctor Who can be over the top violent and sometimes they have to tone it down depending on who writes the stories the show has alot of history behind and a great future going forward i hope you continue on.
This is the longest running science fiction series in the world.
To answer your question on the Time Lord thing yes they are a species there will be some people who were only introduced to New Who that will tell you otherwise that Time Lord is a rank or title but it's not it's there species name but i won't tell you the name of the planet for spoiler reasons that will come later.
The Time War happened sometime between The 1996 TV Movie with the Eighth Doctor (Paul McGann) and New Who.
The foes they lose against are the baddest baddies in the show... and the first indications of an impending war were seeded in the early 70s era of the show when the time lords used the doctor to try to interfere with these baddies back in time before they became too strong to limit their evil/impact on the universe.... the time lords existed all throughout classic Dr who, the time war happened between classic Dr who and this new who you are watching...
That sucks to be such a capable species and be able to time travel, then lose so badly that there is only one of your species left 🙁
@@reactingafool if they lost....?
@@reactingafool It's a bit more complicated then that... A tiny little bit. Just as tiny as TARDIS from the inside. :)
@@oyami4444 The point is: the Doctor currently thinks they lost. He's thinking & acting out of survivor's guilt. He doesn't recall correctly what happened that day when he had the bomb...
I'll never understand why people think talking spoilers is okay on videos like this...
Another Harry Potter link 😆 The voice of Cassandra is done by Zoë Wanamaker who plays Madame Hooch (the one who teaches them how to fly broomsticks in the first film)
She's also a somewhat major character in the Fable video game series.
Re: him encountering a future technology … he’s a time traveller, see?
Great reaction, so glad you're carrying on watching the show. One of the wonderful things about it is that it changes week to week. It's the present day, then 5 billion years in the future, then a hundred years ago.
So true! i love that about the time traveling aspect of the show, anything can happen from episode to episode, good point to point out :D
The Time Lords were the rulers/hierarchy of the Doctor's homeworld. The aristocracy. They encountered another species, a malevolent species, who also discovered how to travel in time.
We eventually learn more about the war, the role the Doctor played in it; & discover he may be remembering wrong... The significance of that episode is up for interpretation.
Great reaction video! So cool to that you are enjoying them, hope you continue to enjoy!
Rose's catchphrase will be "Bad Wolf"
No not google it or u get spoilers!
This was really fun. I hope you do more. Rose has incredible story arcs. I mean they all do, but she goes through a lot...
It was really fun for me too, more is coming! 🙂
Something had indeed happened to his species... you'll find out what as the show unfolds and indeed seen it happen in all its glory!!! Can't wait to see u react...
Love your reaction 💜💙🖤 I’m really glad you are watching Doctor Who. This is a wonderful episode and probably the most underrated in the entire show. I hope you enjoy the rest of the series. 🙂
Yes
Yes, Clive died in the first episode and was understood that other bodies were dead as well
'Do people get killed' errm yes ....
It's always been produced by the BBC drama dept - family 8-80 (even though its target audience is sort of 8-13 and because of that always tends to be assumed to come from bbc childrens dept).
For his next trick ....
(the next stories highly rated and the next but one - but persevere through the one in the middle - in the first couple of series they threw threw a lot at the wall to see what stuck)
errm yes lmao So many of people and things will be dieing is what im getting from you 😂
“F£@& that little thing!” Bro I hope not… 😂
First episode they told the Doctor has a constant companion, D3ath
12:24 thought you'd say "the birds and the trees"
Id say after series 1, just for a history lesson watch the first ever episode, An Unearthly Child (specifically Part 1, obviously). I say after series 1 mainly because I feel like it's better that way because Series 1 acts as a "tutorial" for the younger generation that never watched the show during the 60s-80s
Excellent suggestion :)
Perhaps also do what other reactors do - after finishing each series of the modern show,go back (before starting the next series) and watch one story/serial (perhaps voted for) of the Classic series,in order to get invaluable background on the characters and the show.
That would be a good idea, may just stick to the new who for now and if i get far enough jump back there, we'll see. But that sounds smart for sure and im now pondering if i should, so youve got me thinking :)
Nice idea - certainly towards the end of series 7 an unearthly child ep1 and another particular story of an earlier doctor make sense for context ... but thats to be explained closer to the time - do series 1 (or 27 to be pedantic :-) ) first !
The Doctor is the BEST! So glad to see you reacting to Doctor Who. After you finish the first season I recommend the spin off series TORCHWOOD. It has a character you'll meet in a few episodes.
IF his intention is to explore the whole expanded Whoniverse (if!) then Torchwood technically begins after series two of modern Dr Who. It's more fun to watch them in sync:)
I'll have to check it out and maybe jump into it after season 1 or 2 :)
This is a great episode, and a good concept, a dark one as well. I think it's a good point to dump a bunch of lore on as well not, in the first episode - Learning more about the doctors origins and the first mention of the time war. Anyway
this show is great. watched it many times plus reactions. takes a while to warm up but you will be hooked.
I know you like to talk about cgi effects but can we also bring up how amazing the make up and coustume department for Doctor who is
Very true, I didn't even think about bringing that up, but the whole team, like everything looks to be doing a great job in this series! :)
Great reaction 🤘 and lol rosés catchphrase is yet to be revealed 😂😂👍💯🤘n yes the doctor is a time lord 🤘
I've never really considered Doctor Who a kid show . I personally would say early teens and adulthood
To be honest, I was too busy looking at your plunging neckline to notice the video ❤
Billie Piper baby! Love this era of The Doctor!
I didn't know her real name until someone else's comment but now I do. Yeah she's great, really enjoy her acting and her mannerisms 🙂
You are a really really entertaining reactor! Last time it was your eyes. This time it’s your arms. Keep looking hot man. 😉
lol
I hope you continue to watch the show
I should be 👍🙂
@@reactingafool Fantastic news
Do people die in this show hahahahaha that is funny.
The answer is yes they do 🤣
By the way, there will be another episode about that "last human".
Very interesting, you got me thinking now. 🤔 She will be in actual human form (not skin form) and further into the past is my prediction based on what you just told me. Correct or nah?
@@reactingafool It will be the future. Episode will be more... dramatic. The ending at least. And she will have a human form... But... It's complicated.
Spoilers!
(Its "New Earth" from season 2.)
@@oyami4444 Could you please not spoil future plot details for the reactor?
don't spoil the show it ruins it
@@Exlonox32 Please, check out the difference between "spoiler" and "teaser".
Or do you also protest against movie trailers?
I'm sad.
After series 1 it gets a bit less comedic, a lot more people die XD
if it maintains some of the fun and interesting time traveling, and different beings and crazy plots and what not; then I should still be happy with it.🙂
After series 1? Does that mean season 1? 😂
@@reactingafool no series 1, it's a BBC show, hence it is Series. Americans always put season tho...
@@DoctorWhoShorts To be pedantic:
Classic Who is defined in 'seasons'; while the Revived show is defined in 'series'.
@@reactingafool the classic era is classed as seasons. The new era is series.
Also 10s era is also very fun and crazy. 11s era is strong. 12s honestly is where the show goes down for a few people but his era still has a fanbase and until the the last episode I loathe everything from 13s era personally.
@@DoctorWhoShorts You can't really blame Americans, because Classic Who was seasons. It's not like it's a universal thing that every single British show is gonna say series instead of season.
But here's some context as to why, as Americans, we tend to say season. In the US, series basically exclusively means a tv show. Where you probably say program (which we don't say at all), and might say show (I'm not completely sure about your lingo), we just say series or show. So when we hear "series 1" it sounds like you're saying it's the first tv show/program. Whereas a season in the US always means, well, what a season/series is for you.
I feel like the show keeps getting better with each season til about season 7. After that it’s still decent, but I haven’t found the plot writing quite as engaging after that.
Season 7, alright I'll try and remember that. Did they get new writers or something else to make it change then?
@@reactingafool Doctor Who changes. Sometimes the change is great and everyone loves it, sometimes not.
@@reactingafool actually if you ask me, Doctor Who didn't go down until series 11, personally anyway, and even then I wouldn't say it went down, heck I have a lot of fun with series 12, but eh series 11&13 could be better... I have optimism for the next series
@@reactingafool I guess it matters on the person to person, some people like certain seasons and others don't it really just depends
@@arkthegreenwolfx3627 And then there's people like me, who think it really went down post-RTD. I still enjoyed what I've seen of that (I think I've seen through series 9 or maybe some of 10?), but to me the show lost its heart. Of course, then there are people who think it got better post-RTD. It all depends on the kind of person you are and the kind of shows that call to you. For me, the core of Doctor Who that made it so incredible was the heavy focus on characters, their interactions, their development, and psychology. There was some of that post-RTD, but it wasn't the same. It felt more like the characters were created to serve the plot, rather than the plot being created to serve the characters. And that led to the show being way less engaging or compelling for me.
:)
