- In this video I discuss some of my favorite magazine pouches. In particular I discuss the Blackhawk triple panel, the HSGI tacos, the G-Code Scorpion and the ITW Fastmag.

I knew someone would appreciate the use of the word "musings".
I am surprised to not see any ESSTAC's ?
They make a very good product. I have considered them for my work rigs. I just haven't gotten around to them yet. I have a hard time buying something new when what I am using is still serviceable.
@@GunfatherMilsim Thats a very valid argument, if not broke dont fix it kinda thing. I have a set of 3 m4 tall esstac, very very happy with em. if i play with my gbbr the mag weight a ton and some regular airsoft pouch just let them slip out... the esstac dont. they are hard in there but easy to move when needed. I also bought a chinese knockoff version just to compare.. and holy crap, real one are so much better.

@NightWarp If ESSTAC sent me some of their pouches to review I certainly would. I am not at that level. I currently get stuff to review from affordable Chinese gear companies like One Tigris. A lot of that doesn't make it to the channel.
@@GunfatherMilsim ESSTAC is not cheap so I totally understand that, One Tigris is usually a good call for gear.
Watching your channel and some others, and the stupid amount of gear I accumulated over the years (your comment on having bins full. oh I feel that..) is making me consider trying to do some gear review myself.
Any tips you might share are welcome :)
@NightWarp Sure thing. Cordura is Cordura so you won't see a lot of difference there. Focus on quality of the webbing, the hardware and the stitching. A lot of the discount Chinese manufacturers have really improved their stitching but they cut corners with a lot of their materials. Also they cut corners on some aspects of their design. Check out my review of the One Tigris chest rig. It is honestly a good product, especially at its price point, but the lack of reinforcement between the magazine pouches is a huge negative for me.
Also understand that the vast majority of products are made overseas now. It really comes down to what price point the company is trying to hit and where they cut corners to meet it.
