Omg I love this video! I’ve been so unmotivated to make video as a solo (and novice) shooter (I was always happy *behind* the camera, but I no longer have anyone else to shoot ). This really helps! And I absolutely love your final result… the way you edited the sequence of the bike falling 🔥🤗
Uhm... definitely hats off to the amount of time and energy it took to film this how to video! I am learning little bits, pieces and ideas to use in my own solo video creations from having watched this. I also learned in watching this video: Filming solo requires a good deal of setting up, having multiple cameras is key, semi planning, a ton of hoping it will all work when said and done... In addition, I have also learned I have no interest in investing this much time and energy into filming and editing. Thus am now in search of hiring someone who loves this particular art form, has the cameras, has the time, experience and energy for filming while I create the audio content... this is a wonderful video, a pleasure to watch, great insight... strongly suggest it to those who have the time to invest as a solo content video creator... strongly suggest to those who want to specialize in filming for those of us who need to have great videos to go with our content!
Thank you for sharing your experience. 45 seconds - B-roll length 9000 seconds - shooting time (2.5 hours) xxx seconds - editing -------- Total less than 0.5% efficiency. Viewers must appreciate each b-roll and every video on RUclips, as creators consume insane amount of time for shooting and editing their videos, which people even do not bother to click "Like" button.
This was amazingly helpful and concise, a lot of great tips and ideas in under 10 minutes! And I love that ending where you pound the desk to start the outro music. Good stuff.
Thanks, Joris! I am the only subject I have, so I make lots of self videos. I use the upside down camera shot of feet (always bare) often. Love the sun peeking behind the tree shot. I also use a drone, sometimes a ways off the path and tracking me. Not much inspired to go out and shoot because I just sprained my ankle at work.👣😵
I always love watching your videos! educational and very fun to watch. I just started a video producer course last week. Today we literally discussed this type of workflow, gathering as much different shots as possible from a prediscribed idea. I'll make sure to share this with the group 😃 Spreading the word! Or the video....whatever haha
Wow this is such an informative tutorial video. I've been taking such boring videos of myself on my journeys but now you gave me so many good tips. So thanks so much. Cheers
Love it! Thank you for this! Thank you for educating us and also giving us tips on how to do better at what we love! Thank you! Im a very, very beginner!
Great video and really awesome tips! When I travel and want to explore a new area, I prefer to enjoy the moment rather than stop to set up all these shots, that is why my preferred method is more vlog style with some b Roll to show off the area. Amazing job though!
Anyone want to see an editing breakdown of this sequence? 🤔👊🏻💥
EDIT: Editing breakdown 👉🏻 ruclips.net/video/B9BatAWs-bo/видео.html
Yes, Indeed @Joris Hermans 😀✌👍
Definitely
Absolutely 👍🏻
Yes!!
Yes!! Please
The wide medium close for each scene was a real gem of a tip.
Joris, I really like that you teach people the classical laws of cinema in simple words and pass on your experience to newcomers like me.

Love how you describe the way you want to make the video and the 3 types of shot angles that we should have to get more scenes to edit is incredible!
Thank you for sharing your experience.

We don’t have to appreciate anything.
He’s been burying a body in the forest folks, this video is just his attempt at an alibi. Don’t fall for the shenanigans.

🤣
Bro is kind of people who believe editing 😂

Great video! It looked like a lot of work, but the finished product was so worth it.
