Great straight forward instruction, no distractions, no drifting off subject, no music, job done!
Just subscribed. Your neutral switch change video helped me do the job right. Now the rocker box gaskets. Thanks!
Thank you for the sub...Have a great day..If you need any help let me know.
Love your videos :). No unnecessary chit chat but straight forward and understandable explanation and good recording as well! Easy to understand for a Dutch guy ;).
Happy to help, Any questions just ask. Thank you for your Sub. Let us know how this works out. Ride Safe and have a great day.
Thank you so much for the videos!! Your videos are the most helpful. I changed both top rocker cover gaskets today by using these videos. Your straight to the point and thorough and explain things very well. It made my job very simple. Thank you so very much.
Happy to hear all went well. Thank you for watching and your sub Richard. Ride safe and have a great day.
Great video! My 09 1200 just developed a leak on the back cylinder and you're video is awesome for straightforward instructions. Love it.
Happy to helped! Any questions just ask. Thank you for your Sub Greg. Let us know how this works out. Ride Safe and have a great day.
Same here, just ordered a kit from JD.
Thank you for the expert coaching. Remembering you say easy, take your time saved me from exploding a couple of times. Whoever designed the coil position should be shot. I have to get a better swivel before I can torque the 4 large bolts, then the other 5. Got the front almost done. The rear tomorrow, I hope. I had no idea how to remove the gas tank until you showed me.
Happy to help, Any question just let us know.
Let me know if you have any questions. Ride Safe...Have a Great Day.
Rocco - great vid. Just did my rocker box gaskets using your method. Waiting the 24 hours for the Ultra to cure. Anyways I used a little trick to ease re-assembly. I put 1 1/2" Allen head set screws in the two small screw holes in the cylinder head. This made positioning the gasket and the rocker box a cinch -all other holes line up. Once the rocker box is bolted down, the two set screws are easily removed and replaced with the proper Allen bolts.
how many miles did the bike have? i heard they only need replacing at about 20-
30k
Love the way you explain. Great guide. My nighster also leak at the same position. Will do it once I get all the required tools together.
Happy to help..Let me know how this works out.
This helped me so much with my girls Buell Blast. Thank you!
Happy to Help...Ride Safe and have a great day.
Thank you for this , I too have a nightster that leaks from the same corners and it's getting messy. Ever since I put synthetic in too. You made it look so easy I hope to have the same results ! THANKS ROCCO
Any question just ask....You will do well...Ride Safe..
I’m going to replace my gaskets on my 2000 XL1200C on just the front cylinder....gonna try doing it without pulling the tank. Thanks for your video....very informative and precise👍🏻
It is a must to remove tank. easy to do. You will not have the room. Let me know how this works out.
Two Wheel Rocco finally got around to fixing my bad gasket for my front cylinder....only thing in my way was the ignition coil, other than that I had plenty of room. However, if I ever have to do my rear, I will remove the gas tank.
Thanks for the easy explaination. My Superlow just started leaking from the corners. You helped me make up my mind.
Happy to help..Have a great day..Ride Safe.
Nice job. My nephews 883 is leaking in that general direction. You make it look easy.
Thanks. Subscribed.
Thank you for your support. Any question just ask. Ride Safe and have a great day.
Thanks for the videos, about to try it myself on 2013 Sportster 72, HD dealer wanted $360 so thought I'd give it a try first lol
Any questions just ask. Let us know how this works out. Thank you for your Support.
I replaced all the gasket and put everything back together the same way i took them out. I started the bike it runs but now i can hear a clicking noise. i love your video, by the way
Happy to help. You didn't have it on top dead center so just let it idle and the lifter will pump up. The lifter just collapsed when you put it back together. You need to have the free play when you are top dead center. Thank you for watching and all your support. Gustavo. Ride safe and have a great day.
That noise went away thank you .
Happy to hear all went well. I know you're proud your work. Good luck with your ride. I love the Sportster. Drive safe and have a great day.
Great instructional video. I just noticed oil spots all over my left pant leg after a ride yesterday. Sure enough, oil leaking from that spot! With your video looks to be an easy job. One comment, once the cylinder is at TDC wouldn't it be a good idea to put the plug back in? I say that because with my luck, I can see dropping something down the plug hole and into the cylinder, and then it is the head that then comes off to retrieve it! lol
Yes, You can never be to safe....Let me know how this works out.
I volunteer at the WWII Museum in N.O. and when meeting visitors from out of town I always try to guess where they are from based on their accents. You have an accent like people from the N.O. area and also from the northeast. I want to say perhaps the metro N.Y. area, am I correct or totally off base? :- )
Thank you for sharing your knowledge
Happy to Help....Ride Safe and have a great day.
Hi Rocco...I have leaking problem with the rear one, so the process and the step is the same?
Yes it is the same. Any questions just ask. Thank you for watching and your sub Mang. Let us know how it works out. Ride safe and have a great day.
First off great teaching video you do a great job instructing , i have a question would this be the same for a 1995 sportster 1200 rear motor and do you still have to make it top dead center or is it a little different to do ? Thanks
Yes it is...Let me know how it works out.
Exactly what I needed, thanks!
Happy to help. Any questions just ask. Thank you for the Sub Alexander. Let us know how this works out. Ride safe and Have a great day.
Hey there@@TwoWheelRocco ,
I was able to successfully correct the annoying leak thanks to your video, I greatly appreciate all of your sportster uploads especially this one.
Thank you very much for what you do.

@@alexanderoleson5628 Happy to read all went well. Drive safe and have a great day. Thats what makes it all worthwhile.
Thanks Rocco Great tutorial & tip on Black permatex ultra bc yes sir that exactly where 2000 - 1200 is leaking on kick stand side lower side both cylinders after 36k miles& I do use 20w50 amsoil syn oil but i guess I know @ least oils getting up to the top lol
Happy to help. Thank you for watching and all your support. Ride safe and have a great day. I love those Road King. any questions just ask.
Rocco I removed the upper front engine stabilizer when I did my front rocker box gasket. I was looking in my hd manual for torque specs. This is for the 2 hex bolts with lock washers. My book says 55 to 65 ft pounds. That seems like a high torque value for the 2 bolts going into the front head. Thanks for any info
I agree, It and engine stabilizer. Tighten it down and forget about it. Let us know how the head gasket works out. Thank you for your support, Ride Safe and have a great day.
Thankyou for the tip do you think it will be almost identical on my 07 sporster xl 1200c cuz I have that same leak by the motor mount bolts
Happy to help. Yes it will be the same. Any questions just ask. Thank you for watching and your sub Kyle. Ride safe and have a great day
Going to use this to guide me thru a Rocker Locker install to quiet that noisy slap of the rocker shaft on the 1/2 inch bolts on my Evo Sportster. Perfect instructional videos. One question...I have the '03 Sport 1200 model with the two plugs per cylinder. Will I have to remove the second plug at the center of the head? Thanks.
One plug from each cylinder will do it....Let me know how that Rocker Locker works out....Have a great day.
I will Rocco, Thanks again!
Worked out well. No more ticking from the head. Was driving me nutz. Thanks for the help. Do you have any vids on spring and fork oil replacement on the 03 Sporty 1200 Sport model? Different fork set up than other models. Thanks again!!
This will be the same as your Sportster forks

Hope this helps...let me know how this works out. Have a great day..
One last question: So, you use ultra black on the low spots. Is there any particular reason you don't u use it all the way around where the gasket seats? Is it just unnecessary? Would it cause a problem?
I just did low spots.....It can't hurt to do all....Don't wont to do it again.. let me know how this works out.
I have a leak on my 05 sportster xl custom under the primary. I was thinking it was gas but it could be the oil also. It only leaks when running, but now it's not running. I have no idea what's wrong, any advice would be much appreciated.
Take look at Your push rod tube...ruclips.net/video/8rTII4Eg1Nw/видео.html.
Im gonna be using the genuine james gasket kit on mine today hopefully. I like your video other than form a gasket. but that's just a preference thing. good video tho
I have a 2007 1200 sportster. The front rocker thing is leaking on the left backside. Just about to sell it when it started leaking pretty bad.... story of my life. What are the parts called, The gaskets I need to replace?

Take a look, This is your gasket. Let us know how this works out.
Hey, just a question, I have adjustable pushrods and I need to do this job, will I need to re-adjust them after this?
Don't disturb the adjustment when you remove them. You will have no problems. The stock push rods that were on there were non adjustable. There was no adjustment. They put the adjustments push rods because it's easier than removing everything. When cam work was done. What work did you have done? I hope that helps.
Could you follow the same procedure on the jiffy stand (kick stand)? Obviously finding TDC is harder, but otherwise it's the same, right?
Yes you can....But you need to find TDC by rotating your rear wheel..Let me know how this works out.
There is a cable on my rear cylinder that goes down through the hole in the top of the rocker box cover. What is it and how do I remove it in order to get the cover off? The manual doesn't show it.
Temp. sensor....follow wire from rear head....and unclip and unplug..two spots...let sensor stay in place...thread wire throw rocker box as you remove.Hope this helps. Let me know.
Two Wheel Rocco Thanks! Got it.
Hey Rocco do u recommend changing all 4 gaskets when doing this?
Yes I do. Buy the kit.
If I change out the Rocker box covers could I get by without changing the gaskets or not?
Yes if that is where it is leaking. Clean and a little ultra black gasket permatex. Problem solved..We hope. Let me know how it works out.
Oh it's not leaking. Just going from chrome to black covers.
That will look nice.
Thanks great work
Happy to Help...Have a great day.
Dont you need to use the black glue on the upper part of the gasket too?
I agree, To be on the safe side. It is an o ring style Gasket on your top gasket. I do use it on those weak low spots. Thank you for your Sub Ed. Ride Safe and have a great day.
If only the top cover is leaking should i remove the whole thing anyways?
Fix the top and you are done....less work is better. Let me know how it works out. Have a great day.
Rocco is this the same instructions for a 2003 sportster?
Yes it is...
I just replaced a gasket that had a leak and then the new gasket leaked as well in the same are but it on the break side on the rear rocker on the low side. You think this could solve my problem? Btw, love the vids.
Happy to help. Am I understanding you right the gasket leaks that you just replaced? Thank you for watching and your sub angel. Let me know how it works out. If it leaks just redo it. This time use some gasket sealant on the low side where that gasket failed. Ride safe and have a great day.
@@TwoWheelRocco one more question, should I apply on both parts or just as seen? Thank you
@@FATALMONSTROCITY both parts on the low spots. That will get the job done. it happens just be patient clean it reapply. Let us know how it works out.
does a harley davidson include a gasket already or does one need to install it?
You can buy them online..Ebay..Let me know how it works out.
the allens you put in after the four rocker bolts, what size are they?
3/16 Hope that helps..Have a great day.
Thats what i needed to make sure i had all tools ready.
Hey bud, if i wanted to replace both rockers, would tdc be the same if i wanted to do both of them same time? Thanks man
TDC will be different ...one at a time...set TDC for each cylinder...Hope this helps.
Yes makes sense, thank you
Happy to help...Let me know how this works out.
Hey man, i put bottom rocker on diddnt sit flush, have it torqed to 20 pounds, pins arent spinning, any suggestions? Thank you
Sorry what i meant is, are the rods supposed to be able to spin, once put back together
I thought u used blue loc tite in your old video on all the bolts?
I did at one time. Now I have notice that the bolts tend to stretched so not a big fan of loc tite or torque specs on all bolts I use it on the four main head bolts and that it.
@@TwoWheelRocco ok can I use the blue locctite 300 degrees or do i have to buy the high heat 450 loc tite?
Yes, Let us know how this works out.@@ernie5187
Did you replace the gasket ?
Happy to help. Yes, you must replace the gasket. I like using James gaskets. Any questions just ask. Thank you for watching and your sub Ragen. Ride safe and have a great day. Very rewarding to repair that oil leak. Like I said let us know how it works out James gaskets
Why you don't apply liquid gasket to the entire surface?
James gaskets are great. So I just do the weak spots. That would be the low spots when on its kickstand is the common spot to leak, If you have any question just ask. Thank you for your Sub. Ride Safe, Have a Great Day.
I snapped the middle 7/16 how screwed am I?
If you could send me a cell number I will call you.
That is one of your 3 fastener?
I have air coming out my rocker box but no oil ? Any one have any idea I can’t find anything about this online (sitting on the bike right side is leak)
Happy to help I would put my money on an Exhaust gasket. That's the only way Air can get pushed out if there's a vacuum leak it gets sucked in if there's a leak at the rock box, you're gonna have oil shell only thing that emits air is the exhaust, check all the gaskets. Thank you for watching and all your support. Ducky hits Bills. Ride safe and have a great day. Be careful when you tighten the nuts on the exhaust. I don't know what year your bike is., but I would check the exhaust gaskets.
@@TwoWheelRocco what is a jaw gasket
Sorry about that, I meant exhaust gasket.. Small inspect and check for loose hardware on your exhaust system
@@TwoWheelRocco tighten all bolts up and 100% air coming from rocker box I tighten them down a bit more less air came through but no oil I will try gaskets
If it was your rocker box gasket, you would leak oil,. Ride it and enjoy it.
My nightster leaks there also
Fix it....
Two Wheel Rocco another one for you my front cylinder head pipe glowing slightly orange but no leaks plugs look normal and been riding it a yr
What year? And it is a Sportster.
Two Wheel Rocco 2009 1200 nightster
I got a Vance and Hines LCD fuel pack on it also
Mine was leaking low point of rear cylinder
I'll take it that I don't leak no more. Happy to read all is well. Thank you for watching and your sub Leroy. Ride Safe and have a great day.
I'm actually in middle of it. I've had trouble with silly things. Like I knew my valves was shut on top but didn't know if it was on the right go round and bought a cheap tourqe wrench couldn't figure it out lol. But I watched the video a couple times before I got started made every thing familiar. It really is helping a lot. Again Big Thanks
I would recommend anyone that can afford it get a descent touqe wrench instead of a generic one lol
