This worked out well on the trail, except that I ate my fenders cuz I ran out of clif bars.

I used that as seen on tv stuff on my 12 jk . Almost 2 years later and its still working . I probably wash my car through the drive through at least 24 times a year , depending on the winters . its called rustoleeum wipe new . Your welcome . lol

Have to agree with you....the Wipe New is hands down the best stuff. Small bottle but a bottle will do entire jeep and bumpers.

I think your crazy not to use Cerakote on your fenders. I put it on my new 2021 Rubicon and I love it. Not so shinny after a day or two on my fenders.

I can tell you I have used all kinds of products on my fenders and the best thing I have found was using a map gas torch that u can buy in home depot or lowes..im a plumber by trade and discovered this on accident..I seen you used a heat gun on urs.. heat gun works but a torch works much better

I have steel aftermarket fenders in my Jeep. But I'm gonna hit up my '06 Nissan XTerra with my heat gun. I would have never thought if that. Thanks, CPO.

G'day from Australia. This is a great comparison and test, I only just found you searching for heat gun restoration. I did hear people using linseed oil with a bit of thinner as the carrier for it, I will try to find the video I saw it on and get back to you if I find it. Thanks for helpful video.

Never ever use a heat gun, the issue is UV & heat bring oils to the surface of the plastics and cause them to evaporate & Oxidize on the surface. What the heat gun does is accelerate that process by bringing oils deep from within the plastic to the surface exasperating the problem making the plastic extremely Brittle leading to cracks & shattering.
