As a disabled gamer, I like hearing about how disabled-friendly a game is. I tend to play games 1 handed due to a severe tremors I have in my right, and dominant, arm.
If you get a wheel, you only have to use one hand to drive and your feet for the pedals, you'll have to play automatic but a wheel could be good for that problem.
I played the game for about six hours at launch, and definitely had some interesting screen tearing and artifacts on a high-end PC, but no crashes thank goodness! I did notice I had to make the AI a little bit easier than I am used to with Forza games, but I am enjoying it! Definitely a lot going on on the map!
Thank you for mentioning the accessibility options. I'm physically disabled and I use the Xbox Adaptive Controller, so it can be difficult to find games that I can play. I love your Before You Buy videos!
Its been a couple of years since I worked at Turn 10, but I remember studio heads talking about accessibility options at studio meetings with a ton of passion. Everyone at that studio was really jazzed to problem solve and figure out ways to make the games more accessible to more people. It never once felt like a thing people "had" to do, but rather a thing everyone wanted to do (because quite frankly it's incredibly rewarding to be able to share your passion and work with people who have never had the opportunity to experience it before.) Anyway, working there was a mixed experience. Plenty of good times and some less good times as well. But in terms of genuine passion for bringing increased accessibility to their games, i have nothing but good things to say about that studio.
@@freedbeefpontoons That's great! Sometimes devs don't understand the impact of accessibility options, or lack thereof, can have on a game. I wouldn't be able to Star Wars Jedi Fallen Order because of quick time events and rapid button pushing, for example. A lot of times there's a button, usually L3 and/or R3, that does something that could easily have a setting to do the command automatically or could be removed completely without affecting the gameplay. The search pulse (I don't know what it's called) in Dragon Age Inquisition, for example. Many games today use too many buttons. On the other hand, Forza 7 is very accessible, so I'm not surprised that FH5 is accessible.
im not disabled, but this comment makes me happy. im glad you could find a game to play that you can enjoy man. much love bro, you're much more than your disability.
@@deadeye388 I never thought about it before, probably because I'm not physically disabled, but it's weird that games don't have a "disability mode" where stuff like QTEs either gets removed or is completed automatically. That mode could also have options for remapping keys and getting rid of less important features on the controller/keyboard. Not only would it be great for handicapped people, but it would be good for children too. It wasn't until I was around 12 that I could actually finish PS2 games because a lot of them were too hard mechanically for me. I'm not a game developer, but it doesn't seem like a huge/troublesome thing to do if you set out to do it from the beginning of the development process.
Unfortunate that you didn’t talk at all about the new and amazing SOUND UPGRADES they’ve made. Everything sounds a world different than past games, much more life to them.
The reviewer definitely didn’t have a surround system. They have made some cool changes to the sound. I like how the music plays in the back speakers and the engine in the front sound bar while playing. Very immersive
100% agree. This was one of my biggest gripes of fh4 was the sounds were a bit lackluster and in some cases just a bit shit. Every car fan knows sound is a huge part of cars and they did an amazing job with this game, I'm so happy they paid special attention.
I played number 4 so much I got the big edition of 5. It’s more forza, but the maps better, the AI didn’t feel quite as annoying on harder settings (slingshot effect) definitely worth a go for those wanting a fun arcade racing experience and a fun time with friends.
My most hated thing in 4 was all the cars being normal to race against, then there's the one ai so far in front you'd think they were a whole class up. I still manage to win but that's besides the point, I want more of a challenge from the field as a whole rather than a mediocre field with one ungodly racer 🤷♂️

I’ve probably sunk 20+ hours into it and mostly do the cross country/dirt racing matches and progression and it is super fun. There’s a lot of area for me(as a player) to improve on. The sharp right turns and hairpins are a little hard.
@@GrimAbstract Japanese Gov doesn't like the idea of street racing. Last time I checked anyway, so if it were to happen, then someone would have to fork over a ton of cash, or do some special favor...
I’ve been playing it early due to pre-ordering the Ultimate Add-Ons bundle they offered for discount to Game Pass members - loving it so far! I’m a big fan of the Horizon series and so far Horizon 5 makes it even better. Really enjoying the improved details and performance mode still looks amazing on my Series X. The sound being improved is much appreciated, love the different sound settings included where the game lets you quickly choose presets like engine or music focused (I love the latter as I get tired of engine noises but still want to hear them). Side note, I drove the Porsche Taycan and even in a game it’s still super weird to not hear the engine.
Forza Horizon 4 was one of my favorite games of all time. I'm a huge car guy, and this game dropping right before the winter months in the midwest USA really scratches that itch while the real race car is put away.
I am loving the game, but finding myself wondering what I'm really working towards. I guess the game is more meant to just be a playground where you do whatever you want after casually playing and unlocking everything. I kinda miss games that start you off in slow crappy cars, and in order to get that 1,500HP engine you had to work your way towards that. I think Midnight Club 2 and 3 did a good job with this; slow tuner/muscle cars and then insanely fast super cars towards the end, with performance upgrades that took time to unlock.
I thought the point of these games is to make a build as if you were in real life(could be cosmetic, drift, rally or whatever) and do whatever you wanted.
This is my first Forza horizon game I ever played. I was a PS player but switched to Xbox series X this generation and I absoluetely LOVE this game! I never even played racing games, I never liked playing car games. But Forza Horizon is special.
I remember playing the first game when I was 10 with my older brother and I’ve been in love ever since, simply just driving and enjoying the vibes is amazing
I feel like the story just adds a bit of relationship to the person in the car. I think it’s a great addition for immersion in a game where it could be difficult to feel imerged
Recently bought this on sale for $30 on PC and I'm having a blast with it. Zero crashes so far and I've put 16+ hours into it, it's lots of fun and there's so much to do, lots of tiny little fun missions. Really nice game to just pop in and play for 30 minutes or so, complete a few goals and come back to it later.
Good times on test drive. Car meets up. Drag races. Buying an selling your favorite cars to friends an new players an just cruising the map trying to unlock every street for the achievement
@@racsoxl2047 right??! Made you feel immersed, like actually worth racing. Wanted a big house with an ocean view? Good, do the race where you circled the whole island (which I remember taking like 20-25 min or more real time lol) such an amazing game.
I miss the old story of Forza Horizon 1. Your character didn't talk but you had to beat these top level racers and rank up until you get to the best racer felt like actually progressing through a game. When you beat a racer you get their car and the barn finds were worth more because you could sell em but they were also really fast. Man I miss the first Forza Horizon
Finally somebody else who says it I cant wait for a Horizon game that finally brings back that style of Progression its so much better than literally being given everything from the start. Also it honestly needs to come back to Forza Motorsports games because ever since 5 its been really boring to actually sit down and play through the campaigns.
@@irgiraditya4853 No way, NFS mw is like forza horizon 4 instead, You have no story and you randomly get free cars. FH is totally different game, More like nfs 2005. If you played both nfs mw 2005 and 2012 you'll understand, Same difference here.
I hope we get two good petrolhead expansion packs for this, not something half decent and something weird. Tired of sponsored gimmicks getting in the way of realistic map expansions. Also hope we finally get to have selectable opponents in custom races so we can pick our upgraded and liveried cars to make matching grids. And the return of the offline convoy system too for making the computer drive a couple of our garage cars with us in free roam. TDU PGR type garages for a few favourite cars would also be nice to finally have.
Am sorry but gimmicky is the way forward the hot wheels track add on was the best DLC of any game in Forza Lego was bit crap but really hoping for a hot wheels again as that really helped put Forza out there not know 1 person that not like it but am guessing that might be you as if you want realism play a different game horizon is about braking realism but keeping a bit of it as track games are only for a few people. But do like the selectable opponents in custom races I always though about that even on normal Ai races would be cool if I could select what cars I am up against.
I played 8 hours yesterday on PC and so far I'm really enjoying it. I do agree they really throw alot of races at you within the first hour so it gets a bit overwhelming. I also noticed a texture difference to the AI cars when in a race but its nothing too terrible. The world is beautiful, the car sound upgrades are the biggest plus in the game as well
What are your PC specs? I love the hoizon series but I'm worried about my PC being able to handle it, as its pretty medium/low end because of the shortage

I'm just really happy that I CAN finally enjoy a RWD car in this game instead of feeling like it's going to send me through the Pearly Gates, backwards in a blazing fireball. Often got that feeling in FH4. Dunno if that was just me
RWD finally feels more competitive in higher classes. FH4 basically required a rear biased AWD tune to stay mildly competitive in online. Hopefully that doesn't change with time and OP tunes/meta cars.

ive been having some minor bugs here and there, stuff like when you disconnect from the servers it just instantly stops your car to 0 and puts it in 1st gear (like some kind of hard reset lol) or the engine sounds in the festival while tuning take a few seconds to load so its not quite as snappy as i would have thought at first, or occasionally when i saw other players in the world they would just turn invisible.. but apart from all these very minor hickups the game has been absolutely amazing so far and all of these issues really seem like stuff that'll be fixed a long the way. imo this is the best racing game to date, they have absolutely outdone themselves on the map and the new car sounds are so much better than in FH4, the only complaint i would have with them is that the downshifts might not be as agressive as you'd expect from some of the vehicles. like for example a Zonda should be way more aggressive on those downshifts but its really only a minor thing, for the most part you will love what you hear, i even have most audio settings turned down to 70-80% to have the engine sounds more pronounced at 100 :D

I do like the open world concept but I just think the driving looks extremely boring. No finesse, just pedal to the metal on huge wide roads with minimum steering input.
Idk why but I find that quite relaxing and enjoyable. Probably cause I'm a huge car guy. Just listening to the radio, casually driving across plain deserts in the night or day is so so soo fun! But that's just me.
This looks really fun! Will try it. Now I don’t want to sound like a hater, game looks great (!), but how come reviewers are not talking about the pop-ups, pop-ins, and late rendering of objects/plants, etc. There are a good amount and noticeable ones. I saw a lot here and in other footage of this game, reviews, playthroughs, etc.
Heard about in DF's review but honestly playing the game I've haven't noticed it. And if you're noticing it that often you probably aren't racing right lmao
there has been issues with the game since launch, check reviews on xbox store, we are still waiting on a hot fix, 5 days later..... most of these youtubers won't say anything because their job is more important to them than the truth... its symptomatic of the society they inhabit
I really like Forza H5 as the successor of 4. The only thing I dont really like is, that you can almost instantly get a S998 Legendary car. I wouldve liked it better if you had to grind a bit longer maybe start with an old rusty car and kind of work your way up the classes like in The Crew.
I JUST started play FH4 but this one looks phenomenal! I still may dig into 4 quite a bit exploring the UK countryside before removing it to make room on the hard drive for this Mexican adventure! Nice review Jake!
For sure! Take your time with FH4 the game is phenomenal. I’ve been playing FH5 for like 2 hours now and it’s also a blast and it seems to be even better than FH4.
Friend got me the game so that I was able to play it on early access day...7 hours binging in, I finished The Goliath in a Jesko on Expert mode after trying it for a solid hour. The race took an hour because of the AI and how they were just magically faster. My friend was in a Divo and got passed on a bridge straight away by a Meyers Manx (looks like the Bifta from GTAV) while he was on expert mode. That's my only complaint: AI are just magically faster than you even if you are using an amazing tune.

This game is amazing with the visuals and the incredible races and stunt you can do. I mainly play the online races though and I can tell they haven’t fixed it since horizon 4 because of the extreme one so I feel like without a good multiplayer this game will die down quickly.
You have some good arguments. Their team is making every game better and better so I'm looking forward for improvements anyway. FH4 didn't die til now. This year FH4 kicked into steam as a bestseller.

Forza horizon is my favorite game series to ever exist. Currently have a PS4(bought it to help my sister in law out) and am about to buy a Xbox just so I can play Forza like literally only these specific games lol
Game needs finally to allow selecting your custom races opponents individually from your garage cars that you’ve customised and liveried. because the races are unplayably awful to look at, build yourself an actual liveried race car and you can only race it against a bunch of stock cars & the odd one with a camo livery or hello kitty livery or an ambulance livery just all sorts of random garbage. And the free roam feels gets dull and boring very rapidly without the offline ai convoy feature that was in FH3, should have been added to 4 but wasn’t, and still isn’t in 5, being able to convoy with cars you pick from your garage would make roaming far more fun. And it still doesn’t have multicar garages like TDU PGR The Crew 2 etc all have.
Finally someone who gets it. Those little things could make the game so much better. And more. Detail just for fun like popped tires, fuel, engine damage. Ai convoy emotes ( like them doing donuts and other things) cruise commands. Proper working traffic lights and ai cruisers like in midnight club Los Angeles, a connected highway instead of a highway sprint. Online mode would be nice to have lobbys again with custom rules like the first game butt you could adjust it in game. Maybe you and another player could switch cars with you avatar if you both agree. Like a test drive. And other things. Why I am not excited for Forza horizon 5 the series has so much potential but they won't do these kind of things. I guess it's to boring. Maybe the PC guys can mod the game. Or maybe I'm just boring.
I also forgot a replay sequence Forza Horizon has a lot of cool intros into things but you can only experience them once if you haven't noticed. And they haven't fixed this and a layed back new game plus would be nice.
I had pre-ordered the game through best buy because I had some rewards available, but I still hadn't received my code by 10am the day of release so I cancelled and bought it directly from Microsoft. Still an amazing game in my opinion. Like some people noted, the AI is noticeably more difficult compared to Forza Horizon 4, and I have had lots of issues staying connected to an online session on PC. Those are the only "issues" I have dealt with so far. Definitely worth buying in my opinion
Fr dude. The last game horizon game I've played was FH1 and going into FH5 theres just a lack of story, Its like as I saw someone put it: collecting cars like pokemon. Too many giveaways and easy to get insane cars.
Bought this game yesterday for 70 cents due to a mistake in the xbox store. Glad I made the purchase. Edit: nevermind Microsoft already took it away from me :(
More forza horizon? Yes, please! Definitely playing this one! Probably only gonna play through gamepass, but I rather enjoyed all of the forza horizon games (100+ hours in each) so I am pretty excited for this one. Can't wait to get in there and mess around and race with the homies!
I just HOPE that the changes to driving / PI system has been noticable. In previous games, i hated how some cars were borderline useless cause PI buttf*cked them. Also, V8 awb swap everything to make it viable was just anoying... I hope i will be able to drive some of my favorite cars like s2k or evo without being punished for it.
I love the game. Got it on pc. Paid to much but it's a good game. Didn't crash on my pc which is pretty high end. Can't wait to dig in and have a blast
Honestly needs offline ai convoy cars to accompany you in free roam, picked from your garage. Badly needs this. Race opponent selection from garage cars too so we can make matching grids using the liveries for racing and photos. Also badly needs this as racing is just 🤮 currently with the PS1 looking random stock car grids.
Been playing this on high end PC, runs great for me, no issues with performance, on day 1 I was getting disconnected from the servers a lot, but it seems to have improved, I wonder if it was becasue im in Australia and maybe bulk people were connecting to Oceania servers to play early.
been playing since the OG Forza Motorsport. Looking forward to picking it up off gamepass. I think my most anticipated part is going to be being able to play without needing DLC to play the rest of the game
i haven't played this game but i feel so nostalgic watching this......its just like the classic old arcade style racing games we used to play with friends and cousins like nfs II but everything is on steroids. will definitely play this game
An absolute blast so far! Huge map, fantastic visuals and the exploration is amazing. I’ve been a fan ever since the first horizon and I genuinely don’t like racing games but this series has had me hooked, definitely recommend to everyone especially ultimate gamepass subscribers, you would be a fool to miss out on this 😊
As a fan of the Hoonigan Team Especially Ken Block (R.I.P. legend) and Travis Pastrana I was nearly in tears when the Forza team gifted the Hoonicorn and Ken's race suit. I drive the Hoonicorn and The Hoonigan Cosworth pretty much exclusively now. And I'm trying to collect all of the Hoonigan cars. (Kinda bummed they don't have Pastrana's Subaru builds though.)
My friend and I dogged on the fact that they chose Mexico for this release but I'm still quite excited to start playing a brand new Forza title again. It's not Japan like we were hoping for, but it'll do. Catch me driving my beautiful RX7 FC into a volcano for a scenic shot 😩
I never gelled with these games! Once you've played one, you've played them all. Crashing through walls & trees cutting corners without hardly any punishment is just boring. It looks great and there's a lot of glamour onscreen, just not much substance behind it all.
racing games? idk. Burnout, F-Zero, Need For Speed, Mario Kart, Grand Turismo, Forza play entirely different from each other. definitely a new experience with each one.
Just so y'all know, there's still a bunch of us playing FH2, FM6, FH3 & FM7 -- last two especially -- let alone FH4. Also helps that FH3 & FM7 & their DLC had huge boosts, which had high player retention, when Microsoft announced their delistings. A year+ on and I can find a convoy for multiplayer in FH3 (that was the best game in the Horizon series until now).
You know, I never liked racing games, but this review made me want to try this one, especially the multiplayer modes. Looks fresh and fun. I am def a casual racer, and just starting to dip into a bit more advanced rally stuff.
Honestly I have played the Horizon series over the normal Forza games and I have never been disappointed. I think they really opened up the fun alot more in 5, but man def go back get 3 and 4 wont be disappointed in playing those either
Not that big on racing games either but my friends put me on to forza horizon 4 about a year after it came out and absolutely loved it! Very excited for this new one.
I bought this game last year around the same time I was planning on going on vacation to the Yucatan just by coincidence. This game got me so revved up to visit Mexico! There are a few games out there that encourage you to explore our beautiful planet! I remember when I went hiking in Wyoming all I could think about was coming home to play RDR2! Lol
It's definitely great so far. Though I don't really agree with the 10/10's flying around. The thing is, this game is nearly identical to FH4, except for the improved graphics and a much better open world. Those two are obviously crucial; but that's as far as it gets when it comes to major changes. So it's basically like what Ubisoft did between Far Cry 5 to Far Cry 6. Also one big issue I have is that the game constantly cuts you out with terrible cutscenes and someone's always speaking into your ear for no reason. These cutscenes are unskippable and they're so bad, I ended up having to mute whenever a cutscene shows up. Every NPC acts like they're on drugs, it's an absolute cringefest. For the first couple of hours I just wanted to get over those shananigans so I could enjoy the game. I'm really hoping the rest of the game will ease on these interruptions or at least let us skip cutscenes. Also the ability to block out unnecessary chatter would be great as well. I even muted the speech volume in the game, yet some stupid NPC's sit next to you -so far frequently- in some missions and still talk into your ear regardless of that. It's extremely irritating.
I wanted to try it but after a few reviews I decided to skip. Its basically the same as FH4. Aside from the better graphics I see no difference lol. Even layout design and turns are all the same. I thought I was watching a FH4 review. Not saying the review was bad but Im just not sure what the hype is about in this game. Hopefully the FH series doesn’t become the Call of Duty of racing games 😂
@@UnofficialTwitterSupport Easily, without a doubt. It's basically a bit bigger and prettier version of FH4. It's not one of those sequels where they mess things up. Everything good about FH4 is in FH5 as well.

I’m getting an xbox series S just to play this with my friends. Coming from a play station guy I feel like I’m cheating lol. Btw I’m so goad they made it in Mexico. Beautiful country 👊🏽, some dlc down in south America would be awesome 🤩
So far it’s a solid new horizon, however the drift spec parts are a little weird, they seem to make the car slow down while drifting while spinning the tires a ton, almost like the cars have less “push” vs FH4. I’d prefer to set the car up to drift via tuning instead but I suppose it makes it more accessible to people. Also being this is more of an arcade style forza, I would of loved to see actual wheel offset and tire size customization vs the track width that we got, although it’s better than nothing, and can we please be able to put decals on windows already. But in the end it’s an improvement over fh4, and I do like the physics tweaks they did, and it’s such a beautiful game even if the character models are awful.

I still manage to win but that's besides the point, I want more of a challenge from the field as a whole rather than a mediocre field with one ungodly racer 🤷♂️

Proper working traffic lights and ai cruisers like in midnight club
Los Angeles, a connected highway instead of a highway sprint.
Online mode would be nice to have lobbys again with custom rules like the first game butt you could adjust it in game. Maybe you and another player could switch cars with you avatar if you both agree. Like a test drive. And other things. This is the Only game I envy as a Ps5 player, what a masterpiece
What does envy mean?
Just so y'all know, there's still a bunch of us playing FH2, FM6, FH3 & FM7 -- last two especially -- let alone FH4.
Also helps that FH3 & FM7 & their DLC had huge boosts, which had high player retention, when Microsoft announced their delistings. A year+ on and I can find a convoy for multiplayer in FH3 (that was the best game in the Horizon series until now).
5:40 Not to mention detailed views inside and out for every of the cars... It's insane.
Video shows cars jumping 16000 feet and dropping from half a mile high.
Jake: "I really like the realism..."
😅
Think he means the looks lol
Probably watched new Fast & Furious movies, everything will seem realistic then 😄
You know, I never liked racing games, but this review made me want to try this one, especially the multiplayer modes. Looks fresh and fun. I am def a casual racer, and just starting to dip into a bit more advanced rally stuff.
You wont be disappointed, hope you go for it
Honestly I have played the Horizon series over the normal Forza games and I have never been disappointed. I think they really opened up the fun alot more in 5, but man def go back get 3 and 4 wont be disappointed in playing those either
Not that big on racing games either but my friends put me on to forza horizon 4 about a year after it came out and absolutely loved it! Very excited for this new one.
If you not big with racing games, Horizon is definitely the one to star with.
Props to starting the game with the senna. Favorite car in the game!
I love how Jake says “wheels and tires” instead of rims 🥰
that’s what it’s called
Finally got a computer that can handle the game can't wait to try this out
I preordered the game and i have a rx580. Hopefully i can play the game at 60fps and decent 1080p settings
I have high expectation about performance after i see forze horizon 4 still playlable on even integrated graphics on amd apu although lowest settings
Lol
The main menu music in this game is so
soothing. Just listened to that for 5 mins. Every horizon game has amazing music. How do they do it?
Thank god, I thought I was being a noob. Same here
Hot damn, preloading right now, I love these games sooooo much. Just fun
I honestly suck at racing games, but they make this so enjoyable and satisfying for any level of player - I love it!
yeah drive with cool looking cars around the map for hours, that's my therapy
@@typer1911 sounds Are much better too
Would you say it’s worth to get over fh4 as my first fh game? Where I’m getting the game, both games are the same price
@@UnofficialTwitterSupport Easily, without a doubt. It's basically a bit bigger and prettier version of FH4. It's not one of those sequels where they mess things up. Everything good about FH4 is in FH5 as well.
@@gunmuratilban8667 ok, thanks for the help ^^ I had just seen tons of negative reviews (especially on Xbox) about fh5 crashing and being really buggy. Have you seen any problems with that? I’ll mostly be playing single player if that helps at all
Just played it for my second time today and got gifted about 20 cars. One of them was the Bugatti Divo. I absolutely love this game now, number 5 is way better than number 4 but i have not played the others.
Same, I got gifted a lot of cars like a divo for some reason, I don't know if its horizon doing that or if it's the event and people have to give out certain cars or something. (By the way I have played every forza game except the first three motorsports)
All I see is Motorstorm with this entries environment. Man I miss that series.
I've played it for 2 hours now and it's good
I can't say yet if i find it better than fh4 but from those 2 hours it's definitely amazing and the map is way better than the 4, probably even better than the fh3 one
Yes it is finally on a Level that the map from fh2 had and I’m glad it is !!! I love the game and I hunted horizon edition cars and got 10 different ! Got myself 3 and bought the other 7, glory to my collection !!! ahaha
The game is absolutely brilliant! And the steering wheel support is excellent, much better than FH4. You really feel that you are in control of the car.
I like the story tbh ! They just need to be deeper
But in the end it’s an improvement over fh4, and I do like the physics tweaks they did, and it’s such a beautiful game even if the character models are awful.
drifting is awful
not sure why I never subscribed to you I seriously only buy games after watching your videos.
Fun fact: Jake hasnt released a video that he doesnt say the word "forward" in it in over 10 years.
