This game is sick! I ride my mountain bike everyday to the local park to do some laps. This game hits the spot with tons of fun and puts me in the zone like I'm outside riding.

Eh, I don't know. Descenders has its moments, but the tricks look weightless while in the air. Grahpics are poor and animations are stiff.
The comparison isn't really fair though. One is from multi-billion dollar Ubisoft and the other is a small indie dev.
Both serve their purpose, but RR has the 1-up in my opinion.

I have been playing this game every day and I can say as a person who isn't into sports games or racing games and have lost faith in Ubisoft this is an insanely fun and awesome game that I recommend everyone checkout. Cosmetics you can buy with in-game money that is super easy to earn and gear is just earned by racing or finding collectibles, visiting landmarks, and doing little stunts around the map. Honestly amazing game.
Thanks man, I’m more of a storymode/RPG style of gamer and sometimes first person shooters. I played steep and I’m looking forward to this one!

as a person who spends most of their life on a mountain bike shredding trails, it is so awesome that there is a game now that really shows how awesome mountain biking is. I really do think people should be making more games based around extreme sports

The “fan parachute” is a super niche sport called Powered Paragliding, I’m so happy they included it into the game, it’s really fun to fly around and relax. I hope it makes PPG a little more popular.

Played the free week and had a blast. Definitely getting the game when I can, and so will my friend. Thanks to crossplay, we can party up and shred some slopes together. I have played a lot of Steep and think the physics in that are better, but Riders Republic gives you more airtime for tricks and is overall more forgiving.
When was that? Never heard about it, would be interested to try it if another free weekend comes out.

I loved the free week a lot! Full game plus progression carries off. The game pretty much lowkey released early! But I didn’t buy at launch because it’s a Ubisoft game and…well…we all know it’ll be on sale (50% off most likely) in a month. It was the same with all of their titles (Watch Dogs 2, Valhalla, Far Cry 6, etc) for the past few years.

I’m a massive steep fan. Seeing the trailers at E3 and everything got me really hyped up! I managed to play the closed and open beta and the trial week. Now I have the game as well, and it is exceeding my expectations, I really love it already!

I've actually been really looking forward to this, I miss all the extreme sports games we had back in the PS1/PS2 era. Glad to hear it's solid, I'll pick it up when I'm done with Guardians of the Galaxy.
After seeing the previews ages ago I was excited for this one and now so glad I picked it up. Fun pretty sums it up really well. It’s an absolute blast charging down the hills on those bikes and so much to explore. Excited and hope it keeps the momentum it seems to have for a long time.

I was actually really excited with Steep when it originally released and this game lives up to it and just expands on it. Loved my time in the betas and glad I can finally continue to progress whenever I jump on.
I am absolutely obsessed with this game! I played every free trial they came out with and played for a ridiculous amount of hours. It is a blast if you are into this kind of thing and definitely fun with some friends to ride around with.
oh dang, you mentioned all the old games i grew up on at the end. this game’s blowing my mind in the same way thps 1 and 2 and skate 1 did. it feels like such new territory, and a whole new world’s opened up!
I agree. The down hill mountain biking is hands down my favorite and I always do that in first person. The rest of the game is amazing because it combines a lot of the national parks all in one map then also if you hit those Vista spots hive you a bit of history. Definitely use those as a way to plan a trip through national parks for sure.
If you see this play Descenders it’s way better for downhill biking

My daughter is 5 and she loves it. She can't stop laughing and getting loud. She rips the controller out of my hands when I'm having too much fun. I might have to buy it again on my other Stadia account so we could play at the same time on different screens like we do with The Crew 2.

Got this game four days ago and it's absolutely one of the funnest games I've ever played for sure! It is very annoying getting stuck in the environment but I discovered hitting down on the d-pad and walking will help majority of the time 👍

This game really helps me take my mind off things. I love that there’s so much you can do.
This game suprised me. I usually play MMO shooters driving or Fifa games.
Since I don't have much time to grind for hours and days. This game is what I needed , after long day at work , in late evening I can just roam around do some events, just drive do tricks without grinding hours for one thing. This game is nice , me as and adult just drive around do tricks just to relax my brain.
Great game to play just to chill and enjoy if you got job and other stuff to do and don't have many hours to grind for some small shit.

This game was on my radar since it were first announced. Although I was really looking forward to a steep 2 ( which I though RR was going to be) this game will do!!!!!! It’s truly an extreme sports game that we haven’t had a a long time. This is just the beginning of Rider Republic and I’m here for the journey!!.

As someone who skis and mtn bikes a lot I loved steep and it’s massive variety of terrain and semi realism. Riders republic being the sequel to that got me really excited. Can’t wait to buy this

Mass races in first person are so intense! Had my heartbeat rising when I was batteling for a top 3 position.
The only thing i need for this game to be perfect is an option to continue 1st person during rotations and flips because steep made it work pretty well
I want a Skate version of this. Tight and precise controls with dialed tricking all the x-treme sports on a big map. Hopefully the new Skate will deliver more than just skating now that this is doing well

Sure, it's not perfect but it's freakin' fun to play! Plenty of sweaty palm action.

I love love loooove Steep. I looked forward to RR for a few years, but ended up putting down the controller for a few years because of work and school. Finally getting the chance to play this.
I bought it for PS5 just to give myself a break from 2k22 lol. Actually fun to be honest. Should of added rollerblading too would of been dope
Steep was a great game to just mindlessly mess around in and this looks like that amplified and brought into the future so it'll be great to have this is the library some day for when I'm not feeling like having to engage in a story or battle the other sweats
I played the free weekend, I was pretty invested the entire time I played. I had a few problems with the transition form bike to jetpack and caused me to lose a lot of races because of it. Other then that I had a blast and plan to buy it without a doubt.
I don't think I've ever seen such a review video that perfectly summed up the feel i=of game and be so accurate with it too. Good job.

You can play online with friends just to make that clear to people and be in a party of 10. I guess a big element of the game is the social aspect...like making a group, I think the game is trying to get people to meet each other.

Never been a big fan of sports games, but I keep hearing and seeing great things about this one, and it looks super fun. Actually might consider getting it for a change of pace. 👍

First time I’ve ever played a free trial (for a decent chunk of time too) and it made me want to get the game!
"game can be awkwardly interrupted by how it handles failure" is the definition of steep. so they learned not too much.
seriously no where near as bad as steep, not 100% but much better, feels fun to play
it's still better. Id pay so much to have a "press O to get back up" option in steep rather than tumbling for an hour lol

Got to admit the silliness of costumes and especially the Multi Race is it selling point. Also it can be a pain on your butt just to go for every stars in all challenges without proper guidance, players will find themselves lost and replay the same challenge very more often.
I wish they add your friends score/time at the end of an race, so you want to challenge each other en keep repeating the level
They might just implement that feature like at the end of each event you could press a button to filter between friends, lobby and worldwide leaderboards real soon.
The selling point for me would be if it had dirtbikes, and ATVs.
There’s always room to expand , there’s going to be plenty of future dlc :)

I'm usually not into these types of games, but this one looks like it offers a lot of variety and seems like it would be a lot of fun as well. Great review, I might actually give it a shot.
That's exactly how I felt. It reminded me of ssx, one of my all time favorites. But the awkward placed checkpoints and cutscenes exhausted me a bit lol. If it goes on sale I'd definitely pick it up.
Ps: I've only played the beta so take my opinion with a grain of salt.

i tested both closed alpha, closed beta and open beta. the game is showing improvement every step of the way and i quiet enjoy the game as it feels like 1 of a kind. sure there are some dumb glitches but those added laughter and memorable moments to it instead of frustration. if it seems fun to you, i definitely would say go for it
Idk where gameranx is located out of but I’m in Colorado. I ski, work at a ski shop and am surrounded by people who do all of the sports in Riders Republic and let me tell you, the “yeah brah dude brah” shit is real af
i recommend first person on a bike it makes racing so much better and fun

This games quiet cool I don't even usually like these kind of games, there's so much to do it's quite overwhelming but in a good way

I love it, I got it for me and my daughter, we are loving the snow!! and the multiplayer battles are great, recommended to scratch that extreme sports itch
I was always on the edge about this one but have been having lots of fun so far with it. My only gripe at the moment is it love to freeze during every other race.

I remember Steep getting not so great reviews and putting it off until it was free on PSN. I honestly didn't think I'd like it but I ended up playing it nonstop. I think I got to the point where I just ran out of stuff to do. This game absolutely looks like it's built on everything from Steep and I'm excited to play it.
I honestly think it would be really cool if some company came out with a free-roam snowboarding/snowmobiling. The game would be actually a pretty scary and realistic game, cuz the feeling of riding down a mountain at crazy speeds is absolutely terrifying but still awesome at the same time.
It would be everything, like the music and camera choices. like maybe how the third person cam would be further from the player when they’re snowboarding in a park or on a trail… like a drone shot almost, all this while hip hop and punk rock and just more upbeat stuff is playing in the background. but when they leave the popular areas to go backcountry off-trail riding, the music would change to a bit more darker tone (house music, deep metal, underground techno), and the third person cam would be closer to the player, making them feel…. lost and lonely, but free at the same time, especially during the night.
And it would be cool to have like different purchasable cabins with garages scattered throughout the mountain to sleep in and upgrade your gear.
But I guess what I’m trying to say here is, the point of this dream game would be to make the player feel the same feeling an extreme sportsman feels when it comes to fear and excitement.
Kind of like how peak 3 from ssx 3 makes you feel, if you’ve ever played it.
Played the closed beta back in Aug, instantly preordered it.

@Master Shake same dude. I played this game. Thought it was a good game. But holy shit it gets repetitive
the free event really scratched my Forza Horizon itch, but imo the steering control isnt granular enough. ive often found myself taking corners way harder than i actually needed nor wanted to. ive even tried it out while going slowly, the steering really isnt linear at all.
You have to get better gear I shred through sharp turn without even having to break

ITS NOT A RACING A GAME!! Its mainly about freestyle riding and doing creative tricks on some sick mountains and spots. Appreciate the graphics this game looks so good and they have done a great job making the game exciting. I am a BMX rider for 6-7 years now and to hear that they will also add BMX later on is so exciting. ENJOY...

@@Comic_Geek2001 yeah okay it includes racing and i agree that saying that its not a racing game is not true. But the guy in the vid stresses out only the races where the game is freestyle based and if u pay attention to the vid ull realize he does the same trick everytime whenever he does a trick.

They need to make a downhill domination 2. Allow racing, and the use of weapons to knock down other racers.
I only did the trial on the last day.. Just be prepared for 2 hours of tutorial before you can really play.. It was fun after that though
Played Steep and SSX, and this thing is straight up blast, honestly i didnt expect from Ubi too much, but wanted something like Steep but, better, bigger and Riders Republic does it, infinite amount of fun but what i have to point out due to the Ubi's and other companies lack of optimizing game, this game rocks 60FPS on low with i5 and GTX980 and the game on SSD (and it still looks beautiful) without bigger drops, and even the 64 man race works flawlessly, IMO this is definetely a good game from Ubi with lot of potential and i hope for more good content and updates!
So wanna play this but have so many assignments to do as it’s my last term of university. Come December and January I’ll definitely be playing this, in between my own adventures and skiing lol

The game is actually insanely good and fun. The outfits are one of the best things in this game. It makes racing and trick battles actually worth it. My characters outfit looks ridiculous and I’m all about it

Steep was a skiing game. It was amazing and I still play it but I don't think many non skiers would enjoy it that much

it wont. It feels like a loud cartoony take on these sports. People seem to like that, which is fine, but i don't. It makes me miss Steep, badly. Iv'e gone back and playd Steep since the RR Beta and Steep is just better, flat out. The real issue with Steep is the lack of career/structure/goals, etc, but after 14 hours in RR i beat all the career races and dont really feel like there's much else to do. Glad I only played it on Ubisoft+, i'd be pisssed if i spent $60
No kidding, I JUST started playing STEEP last week!! WHAT A FANTASTIC GAME! I think I grabbed on deep discount and forgot about it, only to realize I have missed out on years of fun.
@@colebuckhart Yeah i totally agree! i purchased steep when it released and i still highly enjoy playing it, trying to learn new tricks and grab-combinations. But in my opinion, riders republic just dont give me the same vibe that steep did ;(. It seems too floppy and arcady in my opinion :(
I loved Steep. Played for hours and hours on end when it released and this game lives up to it. It’s different, but it feels like steep.
Yes, there’s things I prefer about steep gameplay wise and environment but Riders is so much more streamlined and way more to do. Infact there’s so much to do in Riders, it can get overwhelming. The career mode AND online are super fun and the exploration is better than steep as there’s more to see.
The arcadey aspect took some getting used to it but it makes for super satisfying racing

Played the 4 hours and it wasnt long enough. Really enjoyed this game apart from some of the respawns when u crash and it puts you back to the same spot so you crash again. Visually stunning and really good fun 👍

As a person who grew up on games, and Tony hawk, and other games. I decided to take a plunge and buy it on ps5, especially since i found it on clearance brand new for 15 bucks at my local Walmart! Can't wait to install it
I played the hell outta Steep and seeing that game bet better and better with every expansion got me really excited for this one. I'm glad to hear it's so much fun because that's exactly what this kinda game is all about.
