If there is one car on this earth that the manufacturer should resurrect unchanged, it should be this car. I would comfortably bet if Audi did a re-run of this evolution the demand would outstrip supply. But it WOULD need to be unchanged.... same bodywork and same engine with that amazing warble. I think they *only* upgrade this vehicle might benefit from would be a modern auto gearbox. Other than that this car is an all round gem.
Brakes/wheels are the only essential upgrades required, the bloke reviewing this is a cock, the 20v he is reviewing was designed to eliminate turbo lag and is still an advanced engine today!
I remember going to the scrap yard in Birmingham saltley gate and seeing a white clean short wheel based quattro on the top of a scrap heap .I said to my dad that I want to buy it but he said you can't find the parts to Finnish it off. I wish I had because he only wanted £2700.

The 20v model has less turbo lag than the earliest 10v WR, that's why you didn't feel too much turbo lag. Cheers from Spain :)

Because the RR Engine is a KKK24 Turbo and the WR and MB use the KKK26 . To feed a bigger Turbo the Engine needs to run at higer RPM ....
The older quattros allowed you to hear the 5 cylinder engine roar up before the turbo boost would kick in
