Except it sounds like the Fiat and Volvo / Ford units. I know where you’re coming from though. In a forest during a Group B rally it was definitely unmistakable as it roared in the distance.
This is certainly more interesting then a supercar and hypercar. This is a car for real petrolheads. Most super/hypercars are owned by people with to much money and just want to have it as an investment and/or bragging rights. And yes a build like this is expensive, but only real petrolheads still remember these. This is probably more fun as it is more analog, and smaller. Personally I´d probably go down the Alfaholics route if I ever get to afford one. Nice video.
Agree 👍 money no object I'd have a garage full of useable 80s and 90s cars like this , quattro , hf integrale rs500 cossies ,lotus carlton the lot , would however have a 288gto and 959 because , well why not . They're stunning
If it wasn’t for cars like this, a lot of modern cars wouldn’t exist. The original Audi Quattro was built for rallying and since then nearly all manufacturers have some sort of 4wheel drive car (note I said car not 4x4 /SUV) in their line up…and that’s before we get to all the other stuff. HyperCard are great for one or probably 2 things - going fast on smooth flat roads and looking good. Cars like this are equally as good driving down to your local shops, honing around some off road rally track, messing about on an asphalt race track etc etc…in short you will always have more fun …..✊
Couldn’t the TTRS be considered a close relative of the sport quattro? In essence they are both the highest perfomance of their lineup, lightweight, all wheel drive coupes.
@@carswithluke Yeah the 5 cyl.. its musical equivalent - the 'major third' on its own is unique (though of course the V10 also has this 'major third' but not as pronounced as the 5 cyl as they've 'perfect fifth' octave companions that you get from 6 cyls, but all combined).

I had promised myself to get one if I ever could afford it, but they had produced so few models, which are now so insanely expensive, that the dream was bound to remain one and never be materialized. Although still expensive, the LCE Performance cars allow me to hope again. One day, one day….
This was one of the greatest cars ever produced by any manufacturer. In the 1990's to be able to extract a 0 - 60 time of 4 secs was unheard of. To this day, it is one of the fastest best handling ICE cars that there is. I had the non turbo road version of this car for 3 years and it was just a joy to drive.

amazing balance and dynamics? the sport quattro is a legendary car, but far away from being balanced and dynamic. Very short wheelbase and the motor placed in front of the axle make it very very front heavy and even röhrl said it was hard work to drive it fast. In rally spec they swapped EVERYTHING possible from the front to the back like water and oil tanks, cooling, pumps etc to get somewhat of a balanced car
@@Creyzooo Fair enough for the coupe, I did not notice this as much with the sedan and it was for street use. This was the 80/4000 qualttro not the super short wheelbase Sport Quattro. When every car manufacturer was doing “retro” models, why didn’t Audi recreated this model!!! Could you imagine how cool that would have been....😢
I feel Audi are so focused on only promoting electric now but saying that a retro model of this in electric would still be cool.
