This is certainly more interesting then a supercar and hypercar.
This is a car for real petrolheads.
Most super/hypercars are owned by people with to much money and just want to have it as an investment and/or bragging rights.
And yes a build like this is expensive, but only real petrolheads still remember these.
This is probably more fun as it is more analog, and smaller.
Personally I´d probably go down the Alfaholics route if I ever get to afford one.
    Nice video.

If it wasn’t for cars like this, a lot of modern cars wouldn’t exist. The original Audi Quattro was built for rallying and since then nearly all manufacturers have some sort of 4wheel drive car (note I said car not 4x4 /SUV) in their line up…and that’s before we get to all the other stuff.
HyperCard are great for one or probably 2 things - going fast on smooth flat roads and looking good. Cars like this are equally as good driving down to your local shops, honing around some off road rally track, messing about on an asphalt race track etc etc…in short you will always have more fun …..✊

Personally, I associate true automotive engineering with that, and those among us having had the chance to experience these cars will agree, that everything else is for kids ..

I’m in my early fifties and been a sport quattro lover since my teenagehood. I had promised myself to get one if I ever could afford it, but they had produced so few models, which are now so insanely expensive, that the dream was bound to remain one and never be materialized. Although still expensive, the LCE Performance cars allow me to hope again. One day, one day….

My DREAM car when I was in my late teens after driving my parents 4000s Qualttro was the sport Quattro. Tesher made one with a mad bodywork and wheel setup OMG.
If I had time and money I would love to rebuild a 4000s Quattro but perhaps drop in the 10 Valve trubo motor instead. This 500hp Sport is amazing but to me it was Audi's amazing balance and dynamics that made the car unforgetable, that and the best sounding powerplant ever...

    • @Creyzooo
      @Creyzooo 2 года назад

amazing balance and dynamics? the sport quattro is a legendary car, but far away from being balanced and dynamic. Very short wheelbase and the motor placed in front of the axle make it very very front heavy and even röhrl said it was hard work to drive it fast. In rally spec they swapped EVERYTHING possible from the front to the back like water and oil tanks, cooling, pumps etc to get somewhat of a balanced car

    • @chrisgravel7157

@@Creyzooo Fair enough for the coupe, I did not notice this as much with the sedan and it was for street use. This was the 80/4000 qualttro not the super short wheelbase Sport Quattro.
For me I could 4 wheel slide this car, and place it withing inches of where I wanted to be in a corner and it was a dream to really learn how to performance drive.
Perhaps the new BRZ/FRS is a good comparo but neither the WRX or any Subaru I've driven owned come close to being as fun and communicative, nore balanced at the limit.

Great video Luke, you have the envy of everyone who's watched this video, I had a close friend who had one of these new almost 40 yrs ago, in white for the time it was stupid fast and nothing could catch until maybe 60-70 mph and he had a formula 2 racing license in Canada, and really knew how to drive the car, in winter it was brilliant with 4 studded tires almost unstoppable, we live in Central Canada and would drive to Lake Louise Alberta which is about 1000 miles to the parking lot of the ski resort in under 11 hrs in the winter from door to door and did it 3 times in one winter , the only part that wasn't a blast were the speeding tickets, ouch around$ 1800.00 between us, it was worth every dollar, good times, these builds by LCE even the first variant is a good price at 90k Euros for the amount of work that goes into a unit ❤️ just wish i had the other 45k needed to buy a base unit

1980s futuristic car. Clean. Nice wheels. No entirely, all black wheels. The inside is more impressive that my 2016 car.

I once had a choice between an Audi and a 911 turbo. I went full Quattro.
About the ''feels more than that when turbo kicks in'' feeling, I did scare myself on a couple of occasions with a spooled turbo while downshifting in first, the car turns into a missile without drama, there is no wheel spin.

Iconic car. When I win the lottery next month, I’m buying one. Also buying a Viper, Vette ,EVO9, and 10, built Hawkeye STI, Hummer, Ram Trex, and maybe even a Rustang

Good God, that car is cool.
It reminds me of a fox body mustang. It does the 80s look perfectly. And in glossy black, too? Great car.

Wheels are too big. Should have the same white 5 spoke wheels from the competition cars - small wheels give more room for articulation which makes for a faster car.

I have a Porsche 944 conversion with that Audi 5-cylinder-engine with "only" 420hp, due to original pistons and compression ratio. Advantage is to have same response and power as series Audi Cars had at lower rpm. Anyway, I fully agree: No car I ever drove made more fun than this! And I dont need to be the fastest on the road or track to have great fun with that engine: it is simply fun at any speed, due to typical sound at low rpm, turbo sounds at mid rpm and enough power at high rpm... keep going!
