I saw the the factory Rally going car of this on the Rally of New Zealand, 1985. Stage 1, Woodhill forest west of Auckland. The helicopter came first but soon drowned out by the glorious sound of this car, I watched it take a 70 degree corner, maybe 40kph, we were 350 metres up the road. By the time the car past us, it was sideways, doing 200+kph, screaming to go faster, flames everywhere! The driver, 1984 World Rally Champion, Stig Blomqvist. My life changed forever. We could hear the car on the rev limiter, for kilometres..... while waiting for the next car, the helicopter trailing far behind!
I love this. I'm in New Zealand too but I'm only born in 2002 so wasn't a able to see my favorite car in it's prime

Wer ist aus Deutschland noch am Start😃
Ich fahre mein ganzes Leben fast nur Audis. Mein erstes Auto war n 80er GT in Oceanic Blau Metallic Typ 81 danach kam n 85er Urquattro über n 80er 2.0 16V und nen 90er 2.3er als S2 Umbau bis zu meiner heutigen A3 Limousine. Besonders die 5 Zyler sind der Hammer ...der Sound Gänsehaut pur. Wenn ich die Kohle hätte wüed ich jeden Ferrari oder Lambo oder Porsche oder oder oder liegen lassen und mir so einen Traum von LCE bauen lassen.

It's amazing how the Carrera GT still looks contemporary, although closing in on being almost 20 years old. Imo, the design has aged even better than that of the later 918.

To be honest the 918 still looks brand new to me. Like it´s been released in 2020. The CGT sounds better though
The only thing that ages the Carrera GT is the primitive active-aero rear wing. Other than that it still looks like a full on spaceship.

One of the Best sounding 700hp engines of all time, spine rattling rocket ship racing seats, and Quattro powered greatness!!! It just doesn’t get better than this!
Man I cannot say how jealous I am :D My dad drove ralleys back in the 80ies (in a Sierra Cossworth) and always told me how beautiful the Audi 5cyl turbo quattro sounded. He ever wanted to own one and this dream still lives inside me. The best sounding and performing car ever!!

back in 1987 i bought a 1982 ur quattro same car it was nowhere near the speed of this one, but the one thing that never changed from my one to this one is the handling their was a diff lock lever which you pulled out it locked the diffs 50 50 split you never lost the front you never lost the back the whole car just went sideways one of the best handling cars ive ever driven good memories.

Friend of Mine did almost the same tuning an Audi 100 Quattro. Drove a lot of fast cars in my life but that experience I’ve had with that 2.3L 5-cilinder Quattro was such a beast that even now 20yrs later my neck still hurts thinking about accelerating that car from 0 to speed limiter 😍

Why i love my 1994 urs4. 5 cylinder is the best engine sound out there. You can never get fed up with the sound of it.
The sounds, rattles, turbo noise etc. remind me so much of my first track experience with a race ready blob-eye STI... THE EMOTIONS!
