when you slap on a decal. press alt button and hold before you project it. then use your mouse to sling it on. It will attach to your surface automatically like shrinkwrap.
Thanks for making these Decal Machine Tutorials, I just got Decal Machine and found some of the documentation very long and extremely confusing trying to understand it. The other thing I don't quite understand is how to bake (combined?) the decal into the texture that is already on a mesh. An example would be baking the stickers + the suitcase in your example into one diffuse texture. A project of mine needs some custom decals because I couldn't find any for it so I found your video, very well explained.
Thanks to you Justin I have been using DM for a while now, and I love it. The part I am struggling with is exporting my model with decals on it, and importing it into Substance Painter. I haven't found any good tutorials on this. Can this be done? If yes, please consider making a video. Thank you!
Very late question. I have done exactly as you did with som play pause rewind, etc symbols in white and alpha. they are transparent and png. but as soon as I create the decals with this method. the black is no longer transparent and its like a black square with the white symbol on it. Any idea what I am doing wrong? I I import them as image they are transparent. so I dont know what is converting them to solid images.
@Jeff G - in the documentation it does say there's a way to do this (machin3.io/DECALmachine/docs/export_introduction/) - I have not done it myself, so I'm not sure how easy it actually is to do or how good the results are.
Tried creating my own decals today. It worked the first time but then after I cleared the images to make a new folder it stopped importing different decals in. I can press the load images button and select the images but they don't load.
hello brother wanted to make a request. Pavel just released his buildify compatible desert kit... was wondering if you'd be willing to revisit buildify and go over custom buildings now that we have a kit that doesnt have the licensing issues that the quixel scans have 😊😊
Hi everyone! Let me know if you're using decal machine in the comments below! :)

Yes, Decal M is a fantastic tool. One of my three or four favorites actually.
Same - it's a lot of fun!
What are your other favourites?

Hello!
I should say Bagapie, HardOps/Boxcutter , Rantools and, of course, KitOps.
They are all excellent in my (amateurish) opinion.
Very cool !!! Thanks for the heads up. Have many of my own decals now I can us.
Cheers mate

Great video, how do you bake the decal for exporting to GLB/GLTF file?
Do you happen to know if this supports export for game engines (with same parallax effect)?. Thanks

@@TheCGEssentials - thanks, good to hear.
