Il Puma, noto anche come Coguaro o Leone di montagna, è un mammifero appartenente alla famiglia dei felini. Il Puma viene classificato tra i piccoli felini, di cui è la specie più grande. Si nutre di mammiferi, dai cervi alle renne, fino ai ratti ai procioni e ai castori. Caccia anche uccelli e pesci ma non mangia, invece, le carogne e i rettili. La tecnica di caccia è quella dell’agguato tipico dei felini. Attacca le prede e con un morso alla gola gli rompe l’osso.

It feeds on mammals, from deer and reindeer to rats, raccoons and beavers. It also hunts birds and fish but does not eat carrion or reptiles. The hunting technique is that of the ambush typical of felines. It attacks the preys and with a bite to the throat breaks the bone.
