  • I have been asked to do a video where I presented some of my recommendations on soundtracks. It is not really ranked or in any specific order. These are my picks and I'm sure that there will be some that you think should be on the list. That's what part 2 would be for.
I realize that this is a long video. Trust me it had to be.
    Please enjoy and comment.

Great video, Rob. Makes me want to do my own Top 50 video now. Having said that, I’m sure my video would take a few days to get through due to the sheer amount of talking I like to do! 😂
    Keep up the great work!

I remember Andrew was also buying vinyl much later than the rest of us.

"Thunderheart" has James Horner in synths and in indigenous mode, so maybe that's why some people have difficulty?

You might have a point about that unusual combination. I have just always found I liked the unique spin Horner put on Thunderheart.

The original TVT "Television's Greatest Hits" LP was one of the first albums I bought, and STILL the only double LP I've EVER bought. (I have all the CDs in the series.) Glad Chuck Cirino's there.

Yeah, I have all the CD's in the series too. TVT did some fantastic releases.
I interviewed Chuck Cirino a number of years back and when I told him that Deathstalker 2 was living rent free in my head. He asked the simple question "Why?" we both laughed.

A fascinating, wide-ranging, sometimes startling and very idiosyncratic list. I love how few of these I've heard. I can't help but kick myself at the mention of some titles that I saw on the shelf back in the 90s but never bought, like The Right Stuff.
Coincidentally, I was just browsing Jerry Goldsmith scores and bought Medicine Man. I mean, I don't wonder whether or not to buy Goldsmith scores. I just shut up and buy them.

      Thanks,
Yeah I know what you mean about The Right Stuff. I found a copy of the Varese "Lifeforce" on vinyl and hesitated. Next time I went to find it the record was gone and that's just a recent example. I saw CD copies of the scores to "Split Second" and "Eve Of Destruction". I'm still regretting leaving them behind back when they came out.
There are certain composers I will buy without hesitation, Jerry Goldsmith is one. Enjoy Medicine Man.
