Electronic Warfare: Electronic support measures (ESM) and electronic countermeasures (ECM) systems are part of its suite, enhancing its defensive capabilities.
Aircraft
Helicopter Facilities: The Jiangwei II class has a flight deck and hangar to accommodate a single medium-sized helicopter, enhancing its ASW and search-and-rescue capabilities.
Crew and Accommodations
Crew: Approximately 200 officers and enlisted personnel.
Living Quarters: Designed to improve crew comfort, with modern accommodations and facilities.
Operational Role and Deployment
Role: Designed for anti-surface warfare (ASuW), anti-air warfare (AAW), and anti-submarine warfare (ASW), the Jiangwei II class serves as a versatile surface combatant in the PLAN.
Deployment: Operates primarily in the East China Sea and South China Sea, contributing to China’s regional maritime security and presence.
The Type 053H3 Jiangwei II frigates are considered a significant part of the PLAN’s modernization efforts, bridging the gap between older patrol craft and newer, more advanced frigates like the Type 054A.

Ku (u stands for under) band is just under K band and is from 12 GHz to 18 GHz, while Ka-band (a stands for above) refers to frequencies from 26.5 GHz to 40 GHz. K band is 18-26.5 GHz.
Thank you Mr. Aaron.
I love this stuff. Absolutely great.
Ku-band is a frequency band approximately 12 to 18 gigahertz (GHz).
I.e. the short part of K band. So good resolution.
That's just kuku
Good quality post. Tks Aaron
Can’t wait for the next video!
Every time I watch your videoes I want to design new naval equipment!
Australia’s new Hunter Class ASW frigates are likely to be even slower! Due to being overweight.
the sub-rocs can be super deadly. very useful for litorial waters, which is what they have to control. if they are fixed, then they are almost certainly supposed to be calibrated for a set "zone" that you can steer the ship based on sensor readings to. at least, that's how they should have them set up, if they aren't just there to look fancy and impressive booms during live fire drills. unlikely but quite possible.
This class seems to exemplify late Soviet-era naval thinking re: Armament (Kirov and Grisha classes, for example):
Q: 'Which weapons should we equip the ship with, and how many of each?'
A: 'Yes.'
Hi Aaron, I've been watching your videos with great interest.
Can you do a video on the French Barracuda and the smaller version that the Netherlands will be getting to replace the Walrus?
"Know your enemy ", excellent
Ku band is what Direct TV uses. Also older police radar guns. Maybe to intercept low orbit satellite comms?
Could you please comment about the RUclips video of the so-called nuclear submarine leaving the Port Everglades area on April 4th. Not enough information in the post about the boat
Bro is giving me small scale Perun vibes and Im here for it
Aaron it can be found on cruise ships live from a few days ago. Not enough details or info in the comments either .
Interesting.
Good video as always, thanks!
That title on the other hand, uuh..
yea... it's the meta.
@@SubBrief Ya missed the red circle and arrow pointing to something completely irrelevant, I give it 8/10 for effort
Just kidding I've been watching since warcrime wednesdays were a thing I come here for the content not the title haha
I've bookmarked this video in case I ever run into one of these bad boys in battle.
I NEED to know how many heads does the ship have.
When you gonna do Project 15S or 15B of Indian Navy those are probably ships that gonna fight along side USN ships.. please do for same
What is the difference between the guys in the front of the boat and the guys in the back? The guys in the back can convert metric to imperial accurately. :)
Do something on the type45 and astute sub combo
*Hey When are they going to release a multiplayer submarine combat simulator??!!! I'm starting to get bored playing cold waters.
Why do you have two of the same comment 😂, different amount of likes
Try nebulous fleet command; you might like it

Aaron...what's the status of the SSN Connecticut? Is it being repaired or scrapped? Thanks!
Status: Forgotten
sounds like an appetizing charcuterie for a handful of AGM-84s to share.
I salivate like a Coner at the sight of these things.
Deep Intel + Not What You Think 😂
Didn't even make the arrow in the thumbnail red!
So Ward Carroll with an accent giving 80% accurate information 😂
"Deep Intel", now meaning reading off the spec sheet with added online photos, lol.
not what you think is one of the most annoying channels ever
@@MicroSBs
It's annoying on purpose....
"But it's not what you think!...."
Is he going to say "But it's not what you think..." like that other military channel?
actual the PLAN one is transfer to coast guard
Ku-band radar is a thing. It sees use in American armed forces for instance.
Chinese Navy has gone a long way sine the late 70s.. quite scary esp for the USA.
Yes, Ku is real. Ka too
Isn't this class slated for retirement within the next few years?
They only has 6 off this type i dont think they are meant for any kind of battle, probably training
Tons of problems with their infastructure builds. Quality standards are vastly different than ours
Absolutely this, it's called tofu dreg construction
the problems are grossly exaggerated. Compare china with any other country of its level of development ie: mexico, Malaysia, Romania. ect. and its infrastructure is vastly better.
Stop trying to compare a country with a GDP per capita of $13,000 to ones with over $60,000
The fact that a country thats on average poorer than Flint Michigan has better airports and better trains than the US should be embarrassing.
Insane cope
@@wadephillips3887😂their bridge didn’t collapse after being hit by a ship. Lol😂

OK I'm 10000000000x lost heere.. why do I need tro know any of this at all??

You are in the shortlist for navy conscripts

SHIP BRIEF BABY
I would have titled this video: What The Frigate
Ku band is for old school satellite TV lol. They watchin blue movies beating themselves senseless 😂
What I really want to know is the tonnage of stores these things carry. How many tons of Piss-Eggs can this thing hold when underway.
-If you don’t know what piss-eggs are, look it up. SUPER gross!
YJ literally translates to Harpoon 😂, Eagle Strike😅 who came up with this.....
It totally boggles my mind that radars are now so sophisticated and have enough processing power that the limiting factor (in some situations) becomes the 300,000kph SPEED OF LIGHT!
(Kinda like how GPS, and all satellite communications have to take special relativistic factors into account so they can function properly.)
The more I consider such, the more I understand just how those considerations are necessary, and just how bonkers that that is necessary! 🤔😬
Difficult for you guys to understand our feeling... to experience all the changes from 053 to 055....
It just like watch Erya stab the Night King after all seasons.
Another war thunder forum lleak?😂

Bro can u cover type 55 and 96? Please cover new stuff not old garbage
Can you at least have some damn modicum, sub brief produces high quality stuff all the time, none of it is garbage for civilians like us. I think I speak for the majority of people when I say whatever he makes a brief on is welcome!
@@willzulu8844 that or he doesn't want to pay for patreon, or membership.
It's coming soon(tm)
never heard 053, I think the new ones are 052, 054, and 055 (the last iteration, not the 1st version).
How can we take you seriously as an intelligence analyst when you've never heard of Ku band RADARs?
You shouldn't and I'm a Sonarman, not a Radarman.

Quite racist of America is give those names
13:08 - not 100000 feet, 10k m is 33k - ish feet.
14:08 - Ku (K - under) band radar, it does exist. NATO calls it J band.
30+ minutes hell yeah
