This was super helpful and informative as I am in the process of buying my first Wrangler and this top option seems like you get the best of both worlds and is a nice alternative to the hard and soft top. This definitely made my decision easier and I appreciate the demo on how to take the back windows off. Thanks again!
To those asking. Its only to my knowledge available for the 4-door Jeep Wrangler. It is much quieter than a soft top and a little louder than a hard top. I never experienced leaks with mine. In general there are limitations like adding a roof rack as the rack will interfere with opening and closing. I opted to permanently have mine removed so I could have a rollcage installed. I may do the pioneer roof rack which would also be impossible with the Skytop. Owner preference they are about $4K. Maybe more now.
Just picked mine up with the One Touch. Basically ... it makes my Jeep feel exactly like an SUV with a panoramic sunroof. No open air feel. Of course I won't get caught in a rainstorm but there is not much freedom feel. Not sure why they wouldn't make the rear glass removable. Also the giant bag with the huge panels in it takes SO much cargo space. It almost makes a 4 door feel like a 2 door. Not a fan.
So weird. I have one, and when open, with the windows down and the quarter panels off, it feels SUPER open. Doors off even better. And those quarter panels are small. You can put each one in the back seat or in the back cargo area upright. I mean, if you're carrying cargo that needs that space, why would you take the panels off anyway? I do agree about the rear glass. That SHOULD 100% be easier to remove. As it is, 4 bolts, disconnect the power and washed supply, and pop off the struts... It's a big of a pain. But seems better than leaving it on.
I wish theybwould just make the 3 pc roof a 7 pc so it wouldnt be such a pain in the back to take off and you could configure a hard bikini top front or rear with all the rear and side glass out. Even if it meant 5 pc but front row back row as I have only ever removed 1 panel from the 3pc a single time
I live in Phoenix, wondering how much hotter that top and cab will get in the summer time. Any feedback us greatly appreciated. Also, do you get more road noise and rattles compared to a regular hard top.
May 2020 is when I got mine. I’ve been to the Texas Gulf Coast, park in the Houston heat, up to Black Bear Pass, and it’s been incredible and reliable. Enjoy It!
What about rear window, if I take everything else off including the doors, do i really have to drive around with the window down? Or propped open like you’re showing in the video? 🤨
No you can have it anyway you want it. If you push and hold it down when opening as soon as you let go it’ll stop opening and will stay. If you just push the button one time it’ll open all the way
I enjoy my skytouch roof. Easy open and close when I need it. My only thing is that it has rattle, clicking sound when riding over uneven surfaces. It gets pretty annoying when I can hear it over top of the music playing. I checked all around and nothings loose on top just seems like its something within one of the bars across the top. If I push up slightly on the bar then rattle stops, I'm not sure what it is but its definitely getting old.
I have the sky roof on my 20 Sahara, no rattling…did you check the rails…something is not right. I’m sure it won’t fix itself, I’ll bet the stealership charges a fortune.
It’s a factory option $4k…convenient, but you’ll never get that open look, like when you strip the Jeep of the tops and doors…oh, and grab handles won’t fit!
Best Video on RUclips about Sky top and panels...hands down.....
I wish more videos would be like this! Perfectly structured information for me, to understand all options, their pros and cons. And all very short.

The best thing about my Wrangler was taking the top off. The worst thing about my Wrangler was the hard and soft tops.

I have this on my 2024 high altitude and I love it
Awesome video for someone who never owned a Wrangler def helped me .
Thank you. This was helpful. I'm going to try with the windows out next summer. Looks like I can do it.
great info. what wheels you rockin on that? looks great
2008 jeep liberty sky slider edition. Exactly the same!! One button
I’d be embarrassed to admit I had a liberty
Very helpful thank you. Great review as I decide
Nice video, I will be ordering mine with this top
From where?
I ordered from Montrose Jeep in Kingsville ohio
2019 JLRU hard-top with Freedom Panels here .... and I'm am craving the Sky Top now!! Great video!
I just purchase a 2024 Lariat Ranger and love it. However, if they add this feature to the gladiator I will trade-in my ranger in a heartbeat 😂
road noise with top closed?
Great video! Love mine! Is there a shade to put over the roof to keep things from flying in when the roof is open? Thanks.
Wife has a wrangler with a manual flip back fabric top. Air blowing over hood/roof keeps stuff out including light rain.
What size tire is that on the back ?

Put the windows in the bag. Leave bag home. Enjoy.

Any updates?

I live in Arizona and just about to buy my jeep but was concerned how thin the retractable is. How does it hold up with the sun beating down on it?
Good, I have one and live in south texas where it’s almost always summer

Any issues with leaking?!
@@MasterYoda55555 Not at all.
Heavy rain, and the car wash doesn’t seem to bother it.
So did you get it
What if I want to take it off and replace it with a soft top? Are half panel doors available between 2020 and 2022?
I might have missed it, but do the doors fit in the back? Thanks!
Question about the sky top in snow & rain …
I am assuming more durable than the hard top, but wondering …

Do a video on the new top roof of the 2024 wrangler its waaaay better and looks hard as look
Is it possible to open the sky top halfway or is their only one setting for a full extension?

I wish they offered it in textured black. I really don’t like body colored hard tops.
Maybe get a warp that matches the twill? More $$$, but you know what Jeep stands for?

What year and model is the Wrangler featured in the video?
Where do I find this
Can you still take the roof off if you want?
There are videos on. It requires two people and is not the easiest process.
How is the wind buffeting with the two rear side windows removed? Is there any way to remove the back window?
I saw a video on RUclips comparing all 3 tops. Yes, the back windows can pop off easily.
@@gingerthetrailpup7223he's referring to the actual back liftgate window, not the back side windows.
Details on those rims please!
Do they make one for a two door?
Did I hear you say you can't go over 50 MPH with the top open?
It won't open over 50 mph. You can open it at a lower speed and go as fast as you want
Thanks for sharing
very helpful video...thanks
What about having a roof rack?
If you still want to completely remove the hard top, is it possible?
yes its bolt on
Where can you buy this or is it only for new jeeps?
It’s a factory option $4k…convenient, but you’ll never get that open look, like when you strip the Jeep of the tops and doors…oh, and grab handles won’t fit!
wish gladiator had this top!
How is road noise / highway driving with the sky top roof?
Loud lol
Yes mine was worth it 71K for a Jeep, not so much, but I love her
Can you also take off the back or does it have to stay on?
Back window always stays on unfortunately.
@@bluxe7372 back window actually bolts off
back window can bolt off
Can you lease a wrangler with this top?
You should be able to. But I think you have to step up to high altitude trim or custom add on if you order it yourself.
sold
is it available on a 2 door version?
🔥
It just seems like there will be problems with leaks after some time. Anything like this for me is suspect.
Mine is a 2020 and it’s good, I’ve even taken it through car washes more than once and nothing has happened
ALL Jeep tops leak after some time.
It's extremely convenient, but also extremely ugly.
I like it
