@HotHead headliners. The velcro sounded oftly crunchy when retracting the onetouch back. Does that sound ever go away...say after the material loosens up?
Thanks for your question! The sound you’re hearing is primarily from the Radiant Barrier layer sewn into the headliner. This layer plays a crucial role in regulating both hot and cold temperatures inside your Jeep. While the noise may be noticeable when opening or closing the top, it usually lessens over time. Most of our customers, including ourselves, find that the noise becomes hardly noticeable, especially given the significant benefits the Skyliner provides.
Hi there, seemes you brought out a great product. Is there any way could do a noise video with the one touch soft top ( before and after). This would help us to understand to which level the noise would be reduced to. Again, your product looks really good and seems to be what everybody would need ;-)
We haven't done a video of that, yet. Our Hard Top Headliners reduce road & wind noise by up 3-6 decibels (dB), depending on your setup. I would expect the soft top & SOT headliners to be a little less, as the environmental factors are more extreme, but there is still a decibel change. Although a few decibels doesn't sound like much, if you take a look at the decibel scale, there's a pretty significant improvement over each decibel reduction. Hi Jack, the Wrangler is the only Jeep model with the retractable Sky One-Touch Power Top. The great news is that we do make both Hard Top Headliners and Soft Top Headliners for the Jeep Gladiator. My only concern is warranty. If for whatever reason I have an issue with my sky slider roof leaking and I take it in for warranty, my dealer could cause an issue saying the added weight from this was a contributing factor. Not that I’m saying this would cause any issues, I’m just looking at possibilities for warranty being denied over it
Thanks for the comment! It's always smart to consider warranty implications. Our Hothead Skyliner is designed to be lightweight and won’t put much pressure on the SOT motor. We’ve rigorously tested it and sold thousands without issue, so it shouldn’t cause any problems with your Sky One-Touch Power Top. If you have any concerns before visiting the dealer, you can easily remove the Skyliner, and if needed, the Velcro too-just be aware that some adhesive residue might need cleaning.
We haven't done specific calculations yet, but we believe it helps a lot, especially with phone calls and not needing to turn up the stereo as loud. There are a lot of reviews already on JL Forum with folks talking about their experience and how much improvement they have noticed.
Thank you for uploading this informative video. I am exploring buying a wrangler with the Sky- One Touch. However, planning for the future, and considering all the issues with the Jeep Liberty’s sky slider roof, is it possible to replace the entire Sky-One Touch roof with let’s say the freedom roof? If so, will the jeep chassis need manor adjustments? Again, this is considering the worst case scenario of this roof being discontinued and replacement parts not being available for repairs within 10 years from now or so.
Hi Manuel, we haven't swapped the tops on those, but since it's Jeep, I'd imagine you can do it pretty easily. I would suggest looking for answers on the JL Forum. It's a great place to get answers. We're on there all the time.

This is a valid concern, however we sell a TON of headliners in hot climate areas without issue. The adhesive we use for our Headliners is a high-quality 3M VHB tape with a high heat rating of 300°+ degrees Fahrenheit. It's pretty serious tape and with proper preparation, it should last a lifetime. We are aware that some folks may miss a preparation step and also that installation conditions aren't always perfect, which both can absolutely cause issues. Whenever there is an issue with the adhesive not sticking, we will take care of you and send out new tape and instructions to replace, on us. We pride ourselves with providing all of our customers with the best customer service as possible and we want everyone to be 100% satisfied with our products & service.

There website shows the color side facing down afterall what would be the purpose of different color options if you'll never see them?
The color options are visible from inside of the Jeep. The other side is never visible as it's underneath the SOT.

I would be concerned with the adhesive giving up in high heat. Anyone notice any failures with that?
