  • Those Ryzen 3000 CPUs can be quite a bit power hungry if you let them behave like they want to, which is why today we're setting this R7 3700X to be more performing in multithread AND more power efficient, with lower temps and stopping it from overheating. The only downside is losing a bit of single core performance, but it's negligible in the real world!
This also works for the following models of AMD Ryzen 7: 3800X 3800XT

Hello, I am writing this through a translator. Thank you very much for clearly explaining, the settings applied well to the Ryzen 7 3800X, the temperatures dropped by about 11 degrees in AIDA, they were 78 to 67-69, and the overall performance and stability became a little better. Thank you very much again for your video, it helped a lot.

you want to try testing it w/ OCC & Prime95 depending on the CPU even if its a 3700x it might not like a -0.075 offset and get an error.. or it might tolerate higher offset than this and gain more performance.
Don't do Soc Offset that offset will surely cause a RAM stability you can check it by using prime95, OCCT, karhu ram test, memtest etc.
Its also better to use manual PBO value of 300-230-230 for ryzen 3700x however this increase temp by more or less +10 C.. while the offset will reduce temp by more or less -10 C .. so yeah it will remaing like a stock setting however you will gain more performance inc. using both option why? the PBO manual setting will allow ryzen to boost higher on higher temp instead of suddenly reducing its core clock a lot. While the offset remove the added heat by PBO manual.
Additionally if you only use your PC for light multi tasking and mostly for gaming then you can disable SMT this will allow you to further lower your temp and increase your Vcore offset higher as well get better latency and gain a performance inc. on single threaded games (most game utilize 1 thread) this will again reduce temp.
You also change the CPU's temperature limit from 90/95 to 120C, disabling C-state & AMD cool & Quiet both of this are power saving modes.. This will force CPU to not go to sleep/idle below base clock of 3.6ghz unless CPU requires to hit higher clock for a few core and will reduce other unused core below base clock to get higher clock on current used core.
While the temperature limit will allow ryzen to boost more frequently in lower temp however this increases temp so combining this with PBO your CPU now will boost slightly higher both on lower and higher temp underload.
While the Offset reduces temperature to maintain better boost now all you need is a good cooler.
Well the true performance boost of ryzen is by tweaking your RAM to the tightest and highest possible frequency you can reach.
Combine both and now you have a performance in between of a 5600 & 5600x stock.

@@fabr1852 TBH 1hr isn't enough for stability test for either RAM or CPU OC/undervolt.
Just like what most user and tech says do a 12hr min. Or a 24hrs test for Rock solid stability.
For example I have 0 error for an hour to 4 or 6hrs and suddenly will get error oh 8th or 9th or 10th or soo on.
And readjust setting and do a test from the start again.
Until I got a Rock solid 24hrs no error.
Well even then it's stable I also keep trying to find the lowest stable voltage.
For example I'm at 3733mhz CL-15-8-19-13-21-(34) trfc 280 (150ns) and most secondary timings at safe to tight timings.
      Soc vol 1.136V
Vddp 0.97v (will get some IF stability when lowered)
Vddg/vddc 1.0v (0.985v no audio noise but still get unstable AKA weird freezes can't click on desktop, autominimize app, screen turning rainbow and going back to normal)
Then I'm gonna do this offset vcore offset to reduce temp and increase boost (PB) until stable then going to do a (PBO manual) with user recommended setting 300-230-230 x2 scaler "which is somewhat tricky to understand TBH I don't understand this at all'.
But what clear is ryzen 5000-7000 uses the same manual optimization as Curve Optimizer which reduces temp and increasing boost while pushing PB and PBO to limits in a user friendly interface which is easy to understand than ryzen 3000 vcore offset+PBO manual+OC
And you can manually adjust voltage per Core out performing a all core offset of ryzen 3000 and reducing a lot of temps while increasing higher boost clock.
I S**k that ryzen did not do the same on 3000 series... They allowed Resbar or SAM on 3000 series but not curve optimizer support.

Why undervolt SOC voltage. Motherboards don’t overvolt SOC. If anything, it should be bumped a bit to 1.1 to 1.2v. CPU scaler does nothing, so that’s a useless setting. Undervolting the stock voltage is ok, but you could have done more. Otherwise, why not a static voltage and a true oc of the cpu multiplier or set each core per CCD. Not sure I’d call this an overclock/undervolt at all. Pretty basic……pretty simple. For increased PBO performance you’d want to set manual CPU package power in watts, EDC limit, and TDC limit. Even at a static voltage, if the CPU isn’t doing anything there is no wattage/amperage draw. Bottom line, for a proper overclock or even just tuning PBO, there are many more settings and voltages to consider. I surmise these settings would gain you “nada”.

I followed this guide a year ago however not all ryzen 3700x will be stable at -0.075V offset.
Mine is stable in prime95 & OCCT Small FFT + AIDA64 24 hours test each.
However its unstable in idle it causes code 19 error in the event viewer PC restart when idle yep only in idle state and fully stable underload = not stable.
I find out that at stock the highest offset i can set is -0.066V which fixed the code 19 error/random restart in the windows event viewer.
Now i applied PBO manual x2 scaler, +200hz auto OC & manual value 300-230-230 for power limit and 120 thermal limit.
What happen is since the power limit is now gone and the 3700x can use the max power it is allowed the offset -0.066V is no longer stable and need to tune it down to -0.054V to become fully stable.
Now i tweak the system again to gain a lil bit more performance by disabling C-state + AMD cool & quiet (cpu power saving modes) & pref core (ryzen 3000 better to turn off while its better to turn on this on ryzen 5000).
I also disabled SMT to gain more perf on games that don't use HT (specially in Online MMORPG games are not optimized for HT).
Disabling SMT reduce temp which mean I can increase the offset value since its no longer using the additional thread.
I increase offset value to -0.090V (best sweet spot for me -0.0096V is stable but find out that single core & multi core performance drop).
    Set Bclock to 100Mhz.
CPU's IF is also OCed due to RAM manual OC of 3733Mhz 98% manually tuned RAM past all RAM stability apps yep ALL for 24hrs -48hrs++ each test (to much work last year took me 6 months to stabilize GDM Off 1T w/ the tightest primary, secondary & tertiary timings).
Oh... i don't advice the Vcore offset, if this is ryzen 5000 yep you can do that for 3200Mhz XMP even on manually tuned RAM OC you can get away with 1.1V or even 1.05V for good binned ryzen 5000.
I'm currently at Soc Voltage 1.190 V. for my RAM OC if i reduce it this will produce error in 1 or 2 Ram stability app, well 1.2V is safe for ryzen 3000, If i remember correctly 1.25V for ryzen 5000 when pushing above 1:1 ratio 4000MT/s OC

You can set PBO in two ways in Ryzen 3000
Set Auto temperature limit in PBO and play with offset and limits or lock max temperature limit whatever you want and check effettive clock and stability but Is more complicated.
EDC Is dependent from Watts and Vcore, TDC Is dependent from EDC and Watts temperature and Watts are limited from your CPU tollerance.

On 5000 series you can do it only using PBO and the curve optimizer, its very easy to do, see ruclips.net/video/veav1CBTl9k/видео.html
But on 3000 series the curve optimizer is not available and needs to be done like in this vid.

Currently I just set the ratio to 42.50 and set precision boost and rebar. Would your technique be better for fps? It seems to help in Msfs but It could be placebo? Thinking of getting the R7 5800X3D tho since I play Msfs heavy.
