That was incredibly useful. Ever since school I've wondered why I struggle to remember facts or specific information about a subject but am sure that I 'understand' it better than others. Thank you so much.
*INFJ and INTJ: Tips for Switching to Extroverted Sensing (Se)* * *0:00** Introduction:* The video focuses on helping INFJs and INTJs switch to their inferior function, Extroverted Sensing (Se), especially when needed for specific tasks. * *0:34** Importance of Switching:* Utilizing the correct cognitive function (Se in this case) for a task enhances efficiency and reduces distractions. * *1:04** Se vs. Ni:* Introverted Intuition (Ni) is for finding hidden connections and using imagination, while Se is for connecting with senses and the present environment. * *1:35** Use Cases:* Se is useful in situations like sports or conversations, whereas Ni is better for creative tasks or predicting the future. * *2:43** Challenges with Inferior Function:* The inferior function is often underappreciated and opposite to the dominant function, making it difficult to access. * *3:34** Personal Experience:* The speaker shares their struggle with accessing Se, especially during teenage years, possibly due to social anxiety. * *6:25** Learning to Use Se:* The speaker emphasizes that learning to use Se takes time and practice, similar to forming any new habit. * *7:33** Tips for Switching:* * *7:37* Focus attention on Se and understand its nature. * *8:10* Block out Ni when aiming to use Se. * *8:34* Recognize the feeling of using Se (energized, enjoyable). * *10:24** Difficulty in Recognizing Se Usage:* It's easy to mistakenly believe you're using Se when engaging in Se-related tasks without actually activating the function. * *11:42** Not Fully Shutting Out Ni:* When using Ni, Se is not completely shut off, but rather out of focus. * *14:15** Analogy of a Camera Lens:* The speaker compares the focus of cognitive functions to a camera lens, where the dominant function is in focus and the others are blurred but still present. * *14:42** Illusion of Using Se:* Engaging in Se-related activities without truly activating Se can lead to exhaustion and frustration. * *18:05** Energy Levels:* Paying attention to energy levels is crucial, as it indicates which function is in use and when to switch. * *20:07** Practice:* Consistent practice helps in developing the ability to switch to Se more easily. * *23:14** What is Se About?:* Se is connected to the body and the present environment, focusing on sensory input without interpretation. * *25:40** Using Fe + Se:* INFJs often use Se in conjunction with Extroverted Feeling (Fe), which is acceptable as they are both extroverted functions. * *27:50** Balancing Ni and Se:* It's normal to switch back to Ni momentarily, but the key is to quickly return to Se and maintain a balance. * *30:20** Se and Information Intake:* For INFJs, Se is crucial for taking in new information literally and in the moment, unlike Ni, which processes information more slowly. * *35:51** Summary:* The speaker reiterates the importance of practice, focus, and understanding Se to improve the ability to switch to this inferior function when needed. It was really interesting to hear the ways you use to switch into Se. You've now got me thinking about how I can apply this idea to the other functions too! How to find ways to help bring them out and better understand them. Looking forward to hearing the rest of your thoughts on Se in part 2!
Really, really useful video and thought provoking, thank you! Sometimes when I forced myself to use Se', I didn't feel energized like when I was young, somehow it worked then naturally. It didn't work all the time but I remember events when I felt really charged up. I needed alone time after of course but the Se worked. As you said, I cannot response quickly in social situations, I feel like my brain is not working but it's exact the opposite. I am just not there. I am using Ni' too much. I am sure this thing is connected with my social anxiety too. I am focusing on me, my thoughts, what the other people think and I am not there in the moment.
Se is a bodily function like watching a realistic movie with present feelings, or thinking about the immediate environment, not before or after Interesting interpterion. I think maybe it's about balancing extrovert sensing with any other (extrovert) functions that can maintain focus on the body without overwhelming the mind.
have a video on infj and infp difference because idk whether im infj or infp because chatgpt say me infj i dnt whether im infj or infp if u can help me out that would be great!
As a RUclipsr who also has Se inferior, the struggle to get the editing right is so real. I just want to take a moment to appreciate people like you who point things out like that because we're so focused on the ideas that we can be a bit oblivious to it at times 😅
Amazing to see so many interesting ideas being explained on a topic that so many of us Ni doms are strugging with

I took the mbti test and it told me I have only 2% of sensing..😭😭😭
This is really helpful. Thanks for the amazing video
