What a race, a Torana was a great car just about makes you cry watching this. This was the best racing not that crap these days

Before "parity" was important. You're losing? Well make your car faster then....

Back when Bathurst was worth watching! A9X Torana was my teenage dream car and still is today. I'm 53 now and still haven't seen another car that moves me so much.

Those Fords looked great, but were lumbering giant with poor brakes and weight issues...Holden were an amazing team...

I can't believe the front end size difference of the Ford coupes and Toranas on the grid. Awesome stuff.

Yeah the back end was way bigger on the Fords too...One of the best looking grids ever I think.

People, understandably, love Monaro's, GTHO's etc, but I think the A9X is the best looking Aussie car ever made. Hard to beat the fast back, reverse air scoop and classic front grill. And the 308 V8!
But the original 351 Ford Cobra's pretty close second.

@@BorkenGarage Harry become some sort of scrutineer after he left HDT. He told George Sheppard in '78 that the HDT Toranas didn't comply with the rules. George asked how did he know, Harry said that he knows because he built them. Harry later said that as a team manager was his job to get around the rules if you can, And as a scrutineer it's his job to make sure that the cars comply with the rules. He wasn't call the fox for nothing. He never went back to the dark side as you put it.
