RANT UNDERNEATH
↠ forever grateful for the originals s1, which cracked open their relationship to its very core, tore it apart brutally and then built it back together again. 1x16, always in my heart. i wish they could've dug deeper still after s1, although i suppose that was difficult with claire only guest starring every now and then. shame.
↠ their final scene tug at my heartstings, but i believe they should've got more in s5 - some sort of connect through hope, who was klaus' redepention in the way rebekah never could be. who was protected and loved by her father in the way klaus never was by mikael. hope, who is the humanity rebekah was deprived of against her will, the humanity which she longed for for a thousand years. that very same humanity klaus called her foolish for clinging to.
↠ klaus' love for his daughter NEVER EVER could erase all the wrongs, all the mistreatment towards rebekah. it never could erase her suffering. but in her eyes, that love did set HIM free from the abuse he suffered from his father, broke the cycle. and that in turn confirmed that her own ache for a human life was justified, that she'd been right all along, that klaus had been wrong. and he knew now how wrong he had been.
↠ god, there were so many levels to explore !!!! but pff, of course not. this way it seems like klaus is setting rebekah free only because he is dying anyway, which .. it's not what happened lol he let her go times and again. she kept being dragged back into family drama against her wishes, yes. but truth is, she lacked the determination kol had (or tried to have anyway lol) to make that break stick. she would always go back when needed without a second thought. maybe she was just waiting for the moment in which klaus finally proved HER right.
Ugh see? not that difficult, writers.

I was so mad that she barely was there in s5... they put their relationship in the background like she was just one of his siblings but que was'nt as he already said in others seasons. They should have had more time together 😭💔
