Anyways, yes.
Rebekah & Klaus, one of my favourite relationships in tvd/to.
I tried to represent them as honestly and as candidly as I could. Last thing I wanted was to erase all the bad, and fake depict them as getting along and being kind to one another when in reality their relationship is something quite dark and problematic.
Klaus's overprotectiveness borders on abusive. Times and again he displayed a kind of emotional cruelty that really has no excuses. Plus, Rebekah's unwillingness to leave him for good was never the healthy choice. I don't think anyone would disagree.
I've had a soft spot for them since they first showed up in tvd, but s4 really put me off. Some scenes really were terribly hard to watch. The way they portrayed Klaus's obsession with her - how he mistreated her - really crossed some lines, idk.
I'm so grateful for TO. It's not like things were easier, but I appreciated the effort they put into playing out that particular storyline, providing ample background for explanation and resolution (re: calling out Klaus on his bs, cough)
1x16 absolutely destroyed me. & i'm positive i'll cry again if I watch their scene in s1 finale. I do every time.
& I'm particularly glad they left angst behind after that (well, most of it anyways) I lovelovelove those s2/3 episodes with Rebekah, every time she shows up Aw I love her.
Seeing Klaus being gentle with her is soothing (and baffling!). It's like he's paying her back in kindness for all the misery he put her through over the centuries. Sigh. She could've - SHOULD'VE - ditched him a long time ago, but she never did. Not really.
It kinda shines back a light over their whole story, and how much history they have together.

So I stopped TVD after mid season 6ish and haven't watched TO but their relationship is so fascinating to me, Like you said in the DB, his overprotective nature is borderline abusive and I love that you didn't shy away from that aspect in this video and showed just how OTT he can be in trying to protect her while still showing why he is like that and how over the years he's felt this weird need to protect her even if he may not realise he can be overstepping. I loved the editing where the music picked up near the end, it felt frantic and desperate, just like the music there!

and you reassured me about the last part, because i felt like my editing didn't quite keep up with the music, ha
woah, love your editing in this video from the quotes you chose and how words flow with the scenes. i especially love the moment where you match the "now you can be brave too" quote with the scene of rebekah driving away. you show the ups and downs of their relationship so well. and showing that no matter what they go through and what they do to each other, they will always find their way back to each other. i love all this relationship and i love what you've done with this video.
This is excellent. Their relationship is definitely...far from healthy :)...but I love TO for fleshing it out and letting them get back to a place where they can be kind to one another. I hope that continues in season 4.
This is stunning. The sheer amount of work and thought you put into this coupled with the beautiful transitions and coloring is breathtaking. Amazing job. I love these two as well.
