I didn't ask for this but it was very informative. I will apply on my next shoot!
Im a rookie. Im a makeup artist who want to shoot besuty couse there is not many photographer since i moved to the country . How do i shoot close up beauty potraits setting and focus wise ?and what lense ? All reccomendation is gladely welcome 😍hugs form Europe
You’re the reason why I purchased the A7iii, I’ve been in love with it ever since. Your tutorials helps soooooooo much
I love how Diana gives you a bad time constantly ! 🤣 Makes the videos fun to watch as well as informative !
latina
Dale Whitehead exactly!! Funny!
I fully thought his 'alright guys i'm gonna stop the video here' - was going to address Diana and throw up some proof of the comments lol
Dale Whitehead that’s the best part
Manny, I know this is 3 years old but I just purchased the Sony A7R III and this tutorial helps me out. Thank you!
Diana: “well there you go...you answered the question that no one had asked”
😆
Manny: "Oh whats next"
Diana: "Guess"
The A6000’s have great autofocus features, something I miss so much when I got the A7II. Can’t wait to get the A7III
I first had the A7II as well. It's night and day difference with A7III autofocus. There is eyeaf on A7II if you map it to a button. I didn't know that for the longest.
@@stevesvanderpool8653 is that really? I've got the A7ii and the camera store told me it does have eye af, i have tried to set it to a button but i can't select it, it always says it does not work with this lens, and i have tried multiple lenses
me 2 i upgraded from the same to the same.
Thanks for adding that BTS part at the end. It's nice knowing that things aren't all seamless and peachy when making a video and that you have to do multiple takes to get things right, and also to have fun with it.
Your wife is so beautiful but also so funny. You guys are a great match. Love how your focus on multiple brands, equipment and software while providing real live perspectives. Keep it moving Bro.
David N. Beasley Jr. multiple brands? Bruh always in Guess apparel 😂
@@mrmar90 i think he means, he is using Nikon, Sony and other (camera) brands instead of clothing brands, though correct me if i'm wrong.
I have been struggling with this since I got the A7iii so make sure to let your wife know I am here asking about it! Thanks for showing the steps to make it seamless!
@mannyortiz There's an easier way to do this. Set your camera to af-c and flexible spot with back button af then map the ael button to af-on plus register af (af-c plus wide). This way af-on is flexible spot and ael is af-c plus wide. No more changing af points but just 2 buttons that controls both.
After shooting Nikon for the past 20 years, I switched over to the Sony camera system at the beginning of April. I was playing around with my Sony A7 iii at a wedding and ran into this same issue. The camera was focusing all over the place, and I did not understand what was happening. I am already a subscriber of yours and knew somewhere on your channel you provided us with the content on this problem. I’ve changed my setting to yours, and I’m off and running. Thanks.
Manny Captured “The One” a long time ago. He doesn’t need capture one . 😁
Lmao
Photo-Me-Ike 🙂👍🏻

wooo hooo
Yooooooo!!! nailed it lol
too late to win the programme capture one, I saw this video announced on my telephone and lost it, but I'm happy that I found it again, Thanks for these tips which must seem so elementary too you now, but soo good to us out there in the middle of thousands of youtubers each telling us how to get the best out of our sonys, stay natural manny, you are very good in what you do!!
Nobody:
Manny Ortiz: "Since I've been getting so many questions on what settings I use..."
hahah love your videos!
I love the fact that your wife is so supportive. I was just telling my girl how appreciative I am that she supports my passion. So kudos to you guys.
Thanks for sharing Manny and Diana! You guys have inspired me to go Sony! I’ve been watching your videos to help me prepare for the switch! Great work!
Britney Sharp I made the switch about a year ago and never looked back. You’ll love it!
@@houstoninternationalmedia3408 thanks! I just got it last Thursday! It's definitely a game changer! Now I'm trying to figure all these Sony components!
Britney Sharp yeah it’s a lot to figure out at first. Just keep watching manny and other great Sony users and you’ll great in no time!
Houston International Media thanks! Currently doing so!
I love this content. Makes me (the viewer) feel like I’m part of it. Having Diana not only as a model, but a genuine person was awesome.
"Nobody has asked him anything about it" 🤣 I love how you guys are on camera.
Manny i’m switching from a Canon 6D to an A7iii thanks to all your videos. Idk why i was stalling all this time. Anyway! Thanks!
The love you have for photography ( not just Sony) but all Art. I will continue to follow your work. I learn a lot from your videos. Just a question, can you do more Nikon ideas...lol
Its probably hard when Manny shoots Sony. Dont wanna sound like negative whining asshole but id suggest you to get learn how your camera works and get used to it. I shoot with Nikon d7200 and man, i wish the body could do more, since i love to shoot in low light (alot in the night time) and the 1 stop from more from fullframe sensor would give me so much more. Cant afford better camera atm so got to work with that!
I am a beginner in doing photography. Your vids are so wonderful. Thanks for sharing.
First time commenting on any RUclips video ! Influenced my A7iii purchase ! Love the vids !! (also I love Capture One ;) )
Thank you. I went and got my camera and made the adjustments. And it works great.
Y’all have to be one of the funniest couples in America🤣
Diana's hilarious persona.. And Manny's knowledge/inputs.. A perfect video.. This is a great tip.. Thanks alot..
Your wife is AWESOME! my wife is the same and I love her for keeping me real. Sending you guys all my energy 🤗
You're the reason why my husband has learned so much!!! Both of you guys are the best!!! Thank you!!!!
I liked using capture one... its just a bit more expensive 😭. Sliiide that free year over here fam
It's always great when I don't ask for anything but still get the useful info. 👌
great info
I asked in my head 🤷🏾♂️. Manny Out here reading minds
This is actually a great tip. I’ve had some issues in low light conditions losing the eye and I lose all focus on the area I want to focus on because of that WIDE setting. I’ll have to try this out. Looks like it will help me at least move to the area I want to focus on rather than depending on the camera and waiting on it to decide. Thanks Manny. Appreciate the tip. - #ShootDopePics
Thanks Manny and Diana.. I like watching you work together like that.
You’re a lucky man, beautiful wife, and absolutely hilarious 😂
Thanks for this video. It’s going to really help me out when I get my first Sony. Switching over from the Nikon z system to Sony and I am going to need all these tutorials to get up to speed with the new system. Tell the wifey this video was needed. Lol.
The fact I was convinced into Sony cameras, I like your a Sony user for several years makes everything well worth it, thank you 🙏
Dude you have no idea how much this helped me. Thank you! I spent hours incorrectly messing with this before
Watching this vid
Thanks! I have found using "touch to focus" helpful when I lose subject. I'm just not a good manipulator of a joystick!
Great tip! It even works great on A7II In AF-S and with AF-C the face detect still works and In both AF-C and AF-S that flexible spot takes over when the face Is not there 👍 so nice tip! Thanks Manny😊
Got the a7iii today and I asked myself this question. Manny had already answered. He's awesome!
Gonna try this on my first shoot ever today. Wish me luck. Thanks Manny
I’m glad you decided to make this video even though nobody asked for it
What a great advice!
Im about to put my hands on a a7riii this weekend!
Cant wait!🎉
You two are the best RUclips photography couple!
I was a die hard Canon user until yesterday. This video reiterates I'm making the right decision switching to Sony.
Glad you 'read out' the difference in using flexible spot rather than wide for shots where the eye is not in view. Few have noted that the little boxes are actually focusing on the nearest point; actually, answering this question was important for us who have the tracking focus in one camera, but not in the A7 III (Sorry, Diana.)
Great info been wanting to have a travel camera other then my APS-C Fuji. I bought an A7ii and wasn’t impressed at all by the auto focus it was awful honestly. The lack of joystick was a bummer too. I am humoring trying the A7iii to have a full frame walk around camera that’s the size of a Fuji. Tell her this was EXACTLY the video I needed to sway me to try the A7iii as a contender! Thanks dude!
I’m still waiting for the Manny & Diane RUclips channel. I love your chemistry. You guys are truly blessed to have each other. I’m staying with Canon and continue to watch your channel. Keep up the great work.
Thank you Manny! I feel like I owe you money every time I watch your videos! I am a new Sony photographer this helps me out a lot! Bdw your wife is gorgeous!
With someone like Diana in your side. You’ll never be bored😎.
Tracking is also on the a6400 and a6600. I have the a6600 and I love the tracking! So convenient!
Even though I didn't ask this question, I'm glad you posted it because it was something i was worrying about with regards to grabbing proper focus in those situations
Capture One, is calling me 😂😂😂😂 let’s try it, thx Diana for the fun 😂😂😂
Since I have Sony A73 for last week, I'm still learning so much on this camera. And you made it much simplier with this. Thanks!
I always had issues with the autofocus Eye with hair being in the way. This was a great Tip. You guys are great!! Thank you!
Thanks for video Manny, I’m a canon shooter but I love your videos. I’m trying to learn portraiture so I can do weddings and portraits in future, mainly shoot landscape and street right now.
I didn't askfor this, but I have just got my new A7iii and this video is a huge help to get me started, thank you!!
I sense a common theme in your videos. Diana always trying to troll you at least once. LOL. I like your videos.
You guys are so funny I love how you both work together to
Impact the channel it’s a real inspiration to us married individuals looking to get on RUclips with our significant others. Do you ever do beauty shoots I’m really interested in beauty photography? I’m trying to get into tethering so capture one might be the way to go
excellent set up, sorted my issues of having shots not as pin sharp as id want. cheers for sharing
Manny,
Thanks for answering the question that’s has been a challenge for me for a while. I have tried different settings but couldn’t get it to work right.
This did it for me.
Thanks for answering the question that Diana didn’t think anyone asked or needed the answer to. Sorry Diana ☹️
This is a great trick that I would never have considered in my a7iii to toggle between eye af and non-face object af. Thanks for sharing
Oh yes capture one pro here we come. Thank you Manny.
First of all thank you for all your great content you post. You really making me lean more towards Sony especially showing more capabilities of this camera of autofocus features.
Thank you Manny for all your videos you made a huge difference in my photography life. I hope you stick around for many more years!
Your videos are great but it's the chemistry between you and Diana that makes it for me, its hilarious that she rips into you and gives you a hard time. So much more real that some channels where everything is all one big fairytale.
this was great and informative! But my favorite part was the bloopers lmaoo
LOL That's teamwork right there. Photography looks so fun and I am waiting to start having fun. Just need to get out and shoot more.
Always looking on making my skills better with info like this
Excellent, thank you. New a7iii owner here send this is great!
Many people say Capture one is too complicated, but to me it is very easy to use it. Much better than LR :-)
That Sony a7Riii is a monster! Love it!
I have been struggling with this since I got this camera last year this was very helpful thank brother. And congratulations to who ever won the free program
This video is extremely helpful. I was getting frustrated with the little boxes focusing on the wrong subject. Gracias!!
Watching this video reminded me on how much better red or white focus area selector on mark 4 is.
I am cosidering the the A73 myself , thank you Manny and love your banter with your MRS .
Thanks for the focus settings, means a lot. Other Photographers maybe curious on how other photographers shoot, tricks and tips and settings.
Whenever I need a lift, I look at this video...!!! "Nadie"... LOL! Ay Dios mio..!! LOL! "Trying to read Manny's shirt"... Priceless.....! Thank you, Diana..!!
Too funny!!! Your sweetheart keeps you sharp man. Happy for you! Takes a supportive partner in life to make our photography passion work. If she/they are unhappy, our passion suffers. Good for you guys!!📸👍🏾👍🏾
Manny, you have a beautiful wife and family. She is helping you. It's the best! Very good tutorial. Greatly appreciate it!
My dude took it bs back with the guess!!! Speakkkk. Straight classic bruh..
very informative in my opinion, plan on getting this camera really soon.
thanks for the setting Manny Ortiz....just bought the Sony 55mm Zeiss lens....i'm currently playing around with the trial for Capture One...
Bro your wifey is hilarious y’all make a good team and I enjoyed the video
Didn’t ask but often wondered, am switching from Canon so this helps, y’all are hilarious 😆 ty
Changed the settings on my A7iii, thanks for information..👍🏻
"Cars drive that's what they do babe" 🤣🤣 awesome video! Thanks
Manny, tell Diana that you are so attuned to your viewers needs that you just know what we want to watch! Thanks for clearly explaining the best autofocus settings now that we have updated our Sony cameras with the latest firmware. I am feeling the need to go back and revisit all my in camera settings to see if they are still optimal. A quick tutorial on A7iii/riii in-camera menu settings in 2019 might be very helpful ( I am asking you, Diana, ha,ha!) Jonathon looks like a patient young man but surely he is Diana's baby bro -not her son!
That’s her son alright lol
@@MannyOrtizShe got you both 'trained'. ha.ha!
Love you guys chemistry & banter
Great tips, I shoot mostly weddings with 2 A7iii and the Eye-AF is unreal!!
Manny I love how you are always honest in your reviews and how clear you are with your tutorials. Thank you for being a big inspiration and continuing to serve in the photography community.
Adding this to my camera ref playlist. Thank you!
Thanks for this tips, I want to try the A7III and capture one it's new for me
Bloopers are money!!! 🤣👍 thanks guys-great vid!!!
Thanks Manny, I had used most of these features separately but did not know when/why to move from one setting to the other and when one took priority over another. Your demonstration connected all the dots for me and now I understand it. Big thanks - Chris
This was sooo funny and informative at the same time. 😂😂😂😂
I have been considering switching from LR to Captured One. And endorsement from you will likely seal the deal. Heck I switched from Canon to Sony after watching all of your videos a year ago!
Crazy I was searching your videos Friday night To see if you had something like this. I had rented the Sony A7iii for a shoot on Saturday.
Been using just like that, I only though that the flexible spot would also enable the zone where the face/eye is, learned another thing today 👍🙏
