    Over a year ago I got my robot and it arrived the same day I took a kid home from the hospital as he healed from horrendous wounds. I haven't touched my robot since someone set it up for me. This tutorial was easy, clear, and succinct. Will definitely use your channel for future needs. Thanks for making a task - that seemed so horrendously difficult - easy and quick. I may actually clean it quarterly now .... cheers and thanks again!
    Added bonus - if you leave the chamber in your driveway and turn it to follow the sun as it dries, your neighbors will think you're channeling aliens or stealing their cable. Made for extra fun.

    Oh thank you! This is the best vid on cleaning! I now have a happy Robot, and a very happy cat :-) One little thing I changed up was after hitting the empty button, I took the tray out and left it out with the litter. I saved it 'til last, so my cat could still have a "cat box" of sorts while I cleaned and then waited for the globe to fully dry. It was a good move, b/c my cat ended up using it during the whole process. Once everything else was fully dry and ready to reassemble, I cleaned and dried the tray, added a new liner, and put it all back. Thanks again for this vid!!

    Thank you for this super straight-forward cleaning tutorial! It was my first time cleaning it and there are some LONG videos out there! I was using walnut litter as well but cleaned it to switch to clay as the company suggests. We have some issues with smell but it seems as though the drawer doesn't close tightly on one side so I've contacted the company. Thanks again!

    • @Prixiepets
      @Prixiepets  4 года назад +2

      Your welcome Julia! Glad it helped. Yes - the walnut litter is great in traditional cat boxes if you remember to scoop daily, but would stick to the rubber litter pan with Wally's pee. We got the fence piece but a little pee still hits the raw rubber. Clay litter stopped most of the sticking.

    I have the Litter 3 Robot model and am thrilled to have. No doubt they have their quirks, but I’m guessing it has to do with lack of proper maintenance. I took my Litter Robot apart after seeing this video. Mine has the inner heavy duty rubber liner. I was able to release one screw so I could take a high pressure hose and clean inside both sides of this liner. Then scrub both sides of the rubber liner with soap. I also note it’s probably a good idea to lightly vacuum the electronics for those of us who use clay type scoop. I’m guessing this is what may interfere with the routine cycle dump mode that seems to miss. The Litter Robot was a gift to myself about two years ago and I know my kitties love it. It took them about 3 days to get on with it. The next year I acquired an IRobot vacuum that now cleans around the Litter Robot twice a day. We have kismet and we are thrilled with these products.

    I just successfully cleaned mine thanks to your video! The instruction manual is pretty vague and this really helped.
    Something for owners of the newer LR3 to note: you can completely remove the guard by undoing the 4 Phillips head screws on the back, where the waste drop hole is. Then squeeze the guard gently (like a taco) and it can fit through the front for full washing. There was a bunch of litter that was stuck up in there that I was able to wash out finally.
    Really, the hardest part is drying it out, but an old towel and gentle hair-dryer session helped that along.

    A plastic scrub brush will scratch the plastic tub, over time it will make the surface rough and more wet litter will get stuck to it. That's why the company always recomments using a cloth to wipe it down.

    • @Prixiepets
      @Prixiepets  4 года назад

      That's actually a good point. They just came out with non-toxic wipes - share.litter-robot.com/j7cBp. Just keep in mind that the brushes are much softer than cat claws. We didn't notice any scratching from brush, but eventually the cat nails get to the rubber litter pan which we replaced after a year and half.
