    Great video! HERE ARE A FEW MORE TIPS: After disassembling and cleaning the globe I run a dry cloth inside and out to dry the large drops of water and then position a fan to thoroughly dry the globe inside/out. I position the globe in the clean litter tray to keep it from rolling. Everything is getting thoroughly dry including the clean litter tray. For those who dont live in a climate that they can put it out to dry, this will do the trick. I do actually live in a climate that I could put the globe/tray out to dry but using a fan to dry my globe/tray is 15-20 minutes tops as opposed to an hour or more. While the globe/litter tray is drying with the fan, I am cleaning the area where it was. When Im done cleaning the area the Litter Robot is going back to, the globe/litter tray is dry. Yay! I re-assemble and Im done in about 35 mins. From here on out Im going to spot clean the inside of the globe until it is absolutely necessary to dis-assemble and clean. Oh, one more tip: I dont struggle with those expensive Litter Robot litter tray bags, I use 13 gallon plastic trash bags and insert the whole litter tray into it. I adjust the bag so that it is concave to receive the kitty waste as it rolls out of the globe, then insert the tray into its spot. You might have to adjust the bag around the entire litter tray so that it does not bunch up around the top, this makes it easy to re-insert. You can see a bit of the bag from the outside once it is closed but I dont care at all. This tip will save you $$$ and it's super easy to do. So, at the end of the day my post saves you time and money. More time to enjoy your kitties and everyone loves to save money, right?

    Thanks for the great cleaning video. I'm cleaning my Litter Robot for the first time today! I think I let it go a bit too long! We have 4 cats(5 if you include my cat which stays in my room with her own regular litter box). I was a little bit nervous but I pretty well. I made sure it was a nice warm day so that it would dry out pretty fast after giving it a good washing. I watched a lot of other videos as well about cleaning and picked up a few other cool tid bits on some things you can do to help prevent some things. I was getting a lot of sensor errors. Someone a a neat suggestion of taping a small piece of zip lock bag over each of the sensors to help prevent litter from building up. I had a lot up on the edge near the sensor blocking it so we will see how that helps. This community is so great! I got my first Litter Robot for my mom cause she has a lot of issues bending down so much. She's 80yrs old now and she loves her babies! So I got her the Litter Robot for her from Mothers Day this year. We are loving it! Hopefully in the future, I will get another one for my lil angel. Thanks again for the great video!

I had to replace my sensor in one of my units and they sent me a Lil guide boom that had photos. Not sure, but that might be on their website too. If jot let me know and I can send you photos if you like. 😊 It's no problem.

    I wanted to say thanks for making these videos and being so helpful in the comments. We bought a litter robot just before the new year in large part because of your videos and could not be happier! I was wondering how often you fully replace the litter? I’ve been doing it every couple of weeks, it really looks new even then but I didn’t want to possible cause issues for my cats. Wasn’t sure if I should be worried about going longer..

    • @Floppycats
      @Floppycats  3 года назад +2

      oh cool - i am glad the videos helped. i add litter once a week or so - but i do not fully change the entire amount of litter until i do a deep clean of the unit. if the litter is fine, i don't see the need to switch it out. i do deep cleans about every 6 months.

    I've watched a few of your videos today (specifically on the Litter Robot 3). I have a talent for covering/showing things and answering questions we viewers would have on our minds. If we order, we'll certainly go with the bisque color (as much as I like/prefer the grey) as you already also covered it... the grey shows more dust. And you've answered other questions I've had on my mind. One I'll ask, as you're clearly 'pro' on liking this unit... and it saves on scooping, while yes there are bags to empty. This unit (with exchange rate) runs over $700. up here in Canada, considering it does need downtime, minor disassembly to clean (I predict early spring and late fall here to avoid winter) do YOU see the benefit (time-savings, convenience, etc.) to have this unit? I suspect I know your answer (I don't like to presume/assume). And anything you'd like to add that you wish you had put into the video? Thank you in advance for your time. @Floppycats #floppycats

    • @Floppycats
      @Floppycats  4 года назад +1

      I run this website - so over the years I have heard cat owners rant and rave about it - and yes, I have a lot of videos to help address multiple concerns. Do I see the benefit? Yes. Would I need it in my home? Not really. I don't mind scooping and never have minded it. We were originally sent one to review - and at that time I didn't realize what a huge asset it was to many households. After reading thousands of comments over 30 or so videos, I have learned what a great benefit it is to many. Many say the savings they have from litter alone is worth it.

    I'd suggest taking the globe apart completely because there's A LOT of nooks & crannies where litter will hide. I did that for the 1st time in 3 yrs & I was shocked at how much caked on stuff there was around the seal of the 2 halves. I'm also replacing the rubber liner because the weight fell out & I couldn't get it to go back in the last year. Also, the liner has lost it's non stick capabilities + it's pretty scratched up from my cats using it. Overall, I'm pretty happy with this, but there's a few things I would change if given the opportunity.

      you're welcome. i use dr. elsey's - ruclips.net/video/D_5XVcDya5w/видео.html - litter sticks for multiple reasons: 1. diet, 2. humidity level near the robot, 3. depth of the litter, 4. amount of pee (a kidney cat or diabetic cat will produce more urine, so more chance of a larger clump forming and seeping to the bottom of it. I sometimes got it, but not always.

    Great video!! I am going to tackle cleaning it over the weekend. I have only had it a week but one of my 3 cats stands to do his business so there is a mess on the walls afterwards. I have to splash some of the litter on it to cover up the smell. And I have noticed it has actually gone out of the vent hole that is on the top of the box. So needless to say it is very messy. My questions are, when the tray is full, is it actually full or can you use it for additional time or will it stop working? And any ideas about the blocking the hole with a small piece of wee wee pad? Right now I put a wee wee pad on the floor behind it. Thanks for any additional ideas you or others may have.

    • @Floppycats
      @Floppycats  Год назад

      You can open the drawer and shift around the pee if you're getting a full indicator. I cannot recall if it still works or not - the problem is that the clumps will get blocked. I gave my LRs to a friend who has no legs below the knee), so I cannot really double-check.
