Lip sync? Call it what it is. Miming. In other words ripping off the audience. People pay to see a live performance and miming is cheating by second raters. I love it when they get caught out. Things like they drop the mike but the "singing" continues.

I'm 54 years old and have been playing guitar for 41 of those years and going to concerts for at least 43. While I am a devotee of players like Clapton, I have always respected the energy that Neil brings to his performances coupled with good technical ability. His playing and Pat's singing are truely symbiotic; they fit like hand in glove.

Around 40 years ago I saw Pat Benatar live in OC MD. “Hit Me With Your Best Shot” was just becoming a hit. She must have still been contracted with small venues. The club was built to hold a couple hundred, at least 500 of us were packed in there. Luckily a friend had connections with club owners. We skipped the line and we’re given a table inches from the stage. Wow, great night, great memories. Loved it! Thanks Pat.

long ago when this song came out ,my father loved it. when it would come on the radio while we were at work,he would turn it up..even though he was country western all the way,he loved this song.one day i seen this vid come up on tv and i ran into the other room and told dad to hang on and i changed the channel on him.after seeing them start pounding out this song dad started smiling.then when they started focusing more on pat,my dad looked at her and said,''ohhhh myyyy..she is one hell of a basket of sweet peaches''. i said,'' dad,i just wanted you to see who was doing one of your favorite songs." man..he was just grinning from ear to ear. when my dad passed away, there were 4 of us still at the grave site when every one else left.we popped in the cassette tape 'as planned' and rocked the cemetery..**RIP dad, this ones for you buddy!

Benatar Giraldo were clearly a great pairing. Musically speaking, he was the perfect player: hard driving, chunky rock guitar with the skills to add in interesting creative solos. Of course she had the voice, the presence, and the ability to combine them in a way that made each song their own. Rock on.

I just made my first solo trip back to my hometown in over 27 years. I had a lot of anxiety before and during it so, I listened to a Pat on repeat to give me plenty of sass and bravery. Thanks to lots of music and mocha I had a blast.

Notice how the stage is clear of clutter. Only the essentials to ensure the focus is on Pat and her band.

I was fortunate enough to be an 80's girl...class of '88. I got to see Pat Benatar live at age 14. We had pretty close seats & she was AMAAAAAAZING!!!!! Sexy as HELL, her vocals were incredible. Her energy was unstoppable. Her husband Neil & the whole band blew the roof off the arena!
I can totally see why she married Neil, & why Neil married HER. What man who isn't insane would let this beautiful, talented woman ever go??? Found out later she was a classically trained OPERA SINGER. 😱 But had the rock n roll bug BAD so she took it that direction. We're all blessed that she did!
I had covid last year on 9/11/2021. It hit me SO hard I wound up with long haul covid, almost died 4 times then wound up in Hospice. 😢 I was released from Hospice 3 weeks ago & am now having to "self-rehab" myself at home, to re-gain massive muscle loss from being bed-ridden for A YEAR. I was a professional ballet, jazz & modern dancer started age 4 then went pro all thru my upper teens. And I can tell you I know what real pain is. But this is THE most excruciating pain I've ever felt, head to toe...like my bones are shattered head to toe at night after being up just normal activity.
Anyway, it's getting better slooooowly & I'm just now able to start taking 20 minute walks outside each day.
I'm having to go all-out Rocky Balboa on recovery HOWEVER.....I jam this song during my re-hab walks etc. & tell myself "BRING IT!!!"
Pat Benatar will probly never read this. But I want to put this out to the universe....
Pat & Neil.......THANK YOU FOR THE MUSIC!! You are still touching (& even SAVING.....) lives this many years later with your amazing music! I respect & love you both SO much.
    ❤️ 🕊 ✝️ 🙏 💃 🚶‍♀️ 🚶‍♂️ 🕊
Lastly, fun fact.....Loverboy opened for Pat Benatar at the concert I was at. I had a HUGE crush on Mike Reno LMAO. And he wore his red leather pants he had a picture of on his break-out album. (The album cover was a picture of his butt LOL!)
Ahhhhh the 80's were the best decade. Music was sooo fun. The talent was real. MTV had exploded on the scene.
I still want my MTV! HAHA 😄

If you couldn't sing live, you weren't going to make it pre the 1980s. And obviously, Pat could sing.

Both Pat and Neil seem to age very well ...
    Splendid ...
    And that husky voice ...
    Hasn't faltered even a little bit ...
