i have been playing this song on my guitar for AGES and didn't know whether to cover it but i finally decided to do it last week cos i love it very much. it's one of my favourite songs ever in the whole wide world with my favourite ever lyrics and i wish more people knew it :]] the lyrics in this song inspire me a lot for my own, so i hope u like this rendition of it :D

Actually, about a month or two before my dad passed away last year, I had played this song right before talking to him on the phone for the last time. When it happened, he lived across the world and I couldn’t go to the funeral but I remember this song meaning much more to me afterwards. I played it on the guitar and piano so many times. Now it’s bittersweet to listen to, but dang I’m glad I listened to this cover. That bitterness is just a little sweeter this time. Thank you beetlebug 💛

@@imlafonz8047 The part in “Vincent” that goes “And when no hope was left inside on that starry, starry night, you took your life as lovers often do,”reminded me of Auri’s lyrics and general melody, “Arrows burned through the skies as we swallowed our pride, and we ran with our backs to the moon, to our demise, from a friend full of lies.” The general melody and tone of the lyrics, with the slow emphasis on the climactic words, just struck me as very similar and inspired on Auri’s part.

Great job! I am 62 and really don't listen to very many covers of this classic. You nailed it, beautiful. While watching it I came across this quote of Van Gogh: “I would sooner paint people's eyes than cathedrals, for there is something in the eyes that is lacking in a cathedral - however solemn and impressive it may be. To my mind a man's soul, be it that of a poor beggar or of a streetwalker, is more interesting.” I too struggle with my mental health so I hold this song as something special. Thanks for covering it.
