Fun fact: they didn't even have to plug it into an envelope filter. All that quacking wah was a result of Itt's BASS FACE!!
You just gotta Frank Itt Up !
Now this bass sounds spectacular.
Thank you for the commentary and playing. Cort's been releasing interesting instruments of late. All the best.
Oh man, I want one!
That’s a pretty cool sounding bass. Even though I’m not a big fan of headless instruments, the design on this bass looks nice.
WOW! The sound is incredible!
Good to see Cort are finally mmoving up in the guitar world. They've always made really nice beginner guitars, but never did much with the high end.
One huge benefit of a headless design is it eliminates dead spots. Ned Steinberger way way back, did incredible research relating to the pitfalls of wooden guitars. The most immediate benefit of the headless design, is it's balance and weight. Far superior to the more traditional style of construction. I have a headless Status Bass, I wouldn't part with it for any price. You will get a big bang for your money with this Cort bass, and a great introduction into the world of headless.
I got mine 10 days ago and took it out for a spin tonight. 5h partycover gig for about 1000 people. What should I say. Niw I have to explain my wife, that I will not send it back. It is a keeper. Lightweight, well crafted, very solid tone, fits in all genres aaaaand the B string really is a weapon. Unbelievable for the price. ❤❤❤
I usually don't like slap bass but this tone is incredible!
I've been lucky to have been testing one out for the past month or so, and It's amazing. It has an almost piano like quality. It's also super comfortable.
I've been watching you for a long time, my friend. You've aged a little. but I really like that you don't give up your passion for the bass guitar. Best wishes for good luck.
The harmonic grove 👌🔥
although cort has made headless years ago, I think they have learnt a lot from the Ibanez EHB basses. I can see a lot of improvement in the headpiece, absence of nut and smaller fingerboard radius in comparison to the same batch manufactured EHB. the stick out string ends issue is fixed in this bass.
Gonna have to buy the stardust green one! Nice!
This bass sounded like having a build in compressor. Sounds really satisfying. It's suitable for any genres for sure.
Thank you for exposing this to the world. ✊🏽
Not so much into headless designs, but this one is pretty amazing ❤❤❤❤
This will be my next bass....dammnnn Cort, you making me buy a bass each year now. Last year I bought the Elrick NJS4, which is the best jazz bass out there and now looking to add this Space bass for a 5 string in my collection.
Get a Dingwall
@@craigmoran893 Dingwall is nice but prefer this roasted, non fan fret headless design.
Ein feiner Bass !
Does anybody know if it would it be possible to put Thomastik infeld flats on this bass, please? Heard that these headless systems are not always very friendly to flatwound strings.
Bartolinis aren't my favorite but this sounds very nice.
It does sound really good. I'm not a big fan of the finish, but that's just me.
What's the weigh?
Frank the Stank!
У деда лицо харизматичное)
how many kilos does this guitar weigh?
I'm debating grabbing this headless bass, or the Cort A5 SC (not fan fret). Which would you recommend? Going to a store to try them in not possible in the country where I live.
I have a cort A5 SC. Feels great. To me it sounds worse because of the active preamp being MK1 as well. The Space has a better sounding preamp. I love the A5 SC regardless. Definitely go for whichever feels right to you.
@christianhildalgo I actually got the A5 SC about 2 weeks ago. It's great. I'm not using the preamp and I'm using a Walrus Audio Badwater preamp pedal instead.
I'd love to see a multiscale version of this too. Glad it comes in at a sensible price, too
Hm.. change the Pickups for Häussel BassBars and the electronic for Glockenklang and I would buy it instantly. Never liked the mk1s as well as the mid and high frequency of the mb preamp
y’all mentioned that its 35 inch scale length, but the Cort website says its 34 inches. Which is it?
Patrick Hunter said 34. It's funny how if you think it's 35" it makes the B sound "better". it seems 34 is correct
I'd trust the website
Don’t worry about it.
They look like Kiesel finishes
This bass is another missed opportunity for Cort: If they had made it multi-scale, then with their prices it could have been one of the best-selling new basses, especially popular among metal players.
It not being multiscale or at least 35" is the only reason I didn't buy one immediately when they came out.
Although I mist admit the B string still sounds pretty defined. My Cort A5SC doesn't sound that defined, probably because of the different preamp.
I would have bought a multi scale version.
Whoa. Nice instrument. Maybe need a 5-er.
They do one of those too!
What is the amp/cabinet this bass is running through?
None. We’re recording directly
@@basstheworldofficial Wow 😯 No pedals, no plugins, straight into the interface?
Of course we’re using plugins in post production. But no amp or cab sim ones. Just EQ, compression, sometimes a tube preamp simulation, these sort of things
Navarro is covering these today too 😅
Yes, but will he have Frank-face?😂
@@Cobanaut04 no he has weird baby face lol
@@Cobanaut04 no he has weird baby face lol
@@Cobanaut04 lol nope, Nate has baby face
Who's Navarro?
I always disliked the Cort headstock, so this might be a GAS contender
já toquei um cort mas não gostei
So U know, Sweetwater site states they no longer are Cort dealers, so does not have them.
What is that purple bass at 0:33
It’s this one: ruclips.net/video/S-KnV2RDvcw/видео.html
The B string is a powerful weapon. You'll have to trust us because we aren't going to show you or use the B string at all
1:05
@@AVEEGEELIK I stand corrected, we get 0.5 seconds of B-string, I totally know how it sounds now. Thanks
few people today loaded videos with this bass and no one says that its cort in the name of the video)
maybe that way someone will likes it
but iits beautiful as their multicsale model? but stil something strange with sound and mayby quality...
i dont hate them but still havent seen cort guitar without issues
@@marontesla2982 all Corts have the most deadened sustainless sound I've ever heard. I don't know if it's their electronics, or their blend of woods, but they're not a good sounding instrument.
@@A_Stereotypical_Heretic i was hoping it was just my unwarranted dislike of these guitars and in a blind test i wouldn't have heard it but my first thought was in another video with this bass "why does this nice bass sound so dead" . i used to really like their multiscale bass too but the sound faded away... + later videos began to appear where people had problems with the setting and the scale did not sound as it should.
What does it cost?
There’s one on Reverb for $849, but the shipping is $200 from Korea to the US. I don’t see this model (yet) on the links in the description.
@@chrishansen-crowley3287 Thanks!
If headless basses are released, the are much too expensive because custom shop or I dislike some parts like the picks and electronic. Better put in better picks and other electronics and increase a little bit the price. Sounds like the Ibanez ones in my opinion.
Pickups let this down….
Link in description leads to another cort bass...not this headless one.
What is the string spacing? Cort website only provides the "nut" width
19mm
@@pgpeteThomann have it as 18mm.
Gimme multiscale and we will have some competitor to EHB series
YAY GREGOR IS BACK
WHERE IS THE OTHER PART OF THAT BASS
Does anyone know, where to get FLATwound Double-Ball-Strings (for standard Steinberger basses)?
I've not been successful in searching so far.
8-(
eBay?
@@A_Stereotypical_Heretic Nothing on ebay nor Amazon. I've been searching up and down the websites of Earnie Ball, d'Darrio, La Bella, but nothing.
la bella
@@A_Stereotypical_Heretic There are only the standard roundwounds to be found. THX
@@GodzaGaller Last time I lowed through their website I did not find a single hint for flatwound double-balls. I keep looking. THX
isn't it 34? on the site its 34"
our test bass had a 35“ scale. Just emailed Cort about this
@@basstheworldofficialThis is more for Cort, But if its 35" i'm buying one next week. 34 seams like a compromise for something that should at least take on the current prog oriented competition. By my book a 33-35" would have been perfect.
@@basstheworldofficial Just curious: Did you receive a reply from Cort yet? ☺️
@@basstheworldofficialSorry to be a pain but did you receive any reply from Cort regarding this matter? It’s a pretty important spec for a 5-string bass so it would be nice to know what we’ll get if we buy one of these. ☺️ Thanks for your extra efforts! 👍🏼
Is it me or I see it veeery similar to the Ibanez EHB series?
The only thing they really have in common is the headless design. They feel and sound completely different
I was so excited when you said it has a scale length of 35’’ just to find out that it’s 34’’. 😨 What a bummer. 😣
it's definitely 35". I've measured it myself. That's an error in the specs list
@@basstheworldofficial Really?? 😳Wow, that's a massive mistake by Cort. Everyone else is advertising this bass with a 34'' scale length. And I know that for a lot of people this is a deal breaker on a 5 string bass. ^^ Thanks a lot for going the extra mile and clarifying this for us. This is a huge help! 🤗
Why does Frank always look angry? 😇
He’s thinking about your life decisions 😉
@@basstheworldofficial Yeah I am too
this is an IBANEZ, they pay Cort to make it for them, no Difference.
No information about the string spacing at the bridge. Someone said 19mm but nothing found on the web about that. It's so important for a 5 string bass.
Nice bass, but I'm just here for Frank's bass stank face.
Can frank be my dad ?
If I see another poplar burl top and set of Bartolini Mk1 pickups on a mid-market bass, I might just.. well, tut and sigh a bit. Utter lack of imagination. There are much better pretty figured woods and commodity pickups out there.
Bartolini Mk1is a boring stock standard pickup, alright.
I think that the person who invented headless instruments should be in prison
Q: Have Cort ever made an attractive looking bass?
A: No
as a steinberger owner, I think its nice
@@pgpete as a steinberger owner, I don't think it's nice.
Cort has no sound
These sound terrible...
This produces good bass face
