"If you don't know by now, Chicagoans will be quick to correct you. Illinois has a silent "s" sound, so it should be pronounced "Il-ih-NOY," not "Ill-ih-NOISE." 😉🍻
Lmao yes we will 🤣🤣
OMG Whoever told him to pronounce the S had to be trolling.
NO “S” is correct, Michael.
The word is French, so it has to be "Ill-eeh-nwah".
Apparently it is pronounced both ways, depends on what part of Illinois you live in. I’ll continue to leave the s silent. 😉
Ive lived in Illinois my whole life. The s is silent. You were right the first time.
Really? I was dupped! 🤣🤣🤣 Thanks for clarifying.
I fell for it.
@@Youthman lol. People do it all the time.
Hey Youthman, yes the s is silent. I have lived 37 years in IL and we never pronounce the s at the end.
Well it seems that it depends on where you live.
Michael, the “s” is silent. You only hear a few people ever add “z” sound at the end. But the pronunciation is without the “s”.
Agree with Mr. TB ^^^. Illinois rhymes with "boy."
I was dupped! 🤣🤣🤣
@@Youthman just make sure you don’t do any tours in Oregon. That could cause some debates. 😂😂
@@Youthman Yeah, I'm a Michigander and we have always been told it's ill -in-oy. the "s" is silent. Plus I'm a Chicago White Sox fan and see tons of ads for the Illinois Lottery. They don't add an "S" in the commercials. I think somebody was messing with you, Michael.
Yet another "over the wall" (or, behind the bookcase) system Michael!
Love the motorized screen!
I can't imagine what it would sound like and feel like compared to my own modest theater room.
Love JBL. Have M2's for L/C/R, they're awesome!
This might have been my favorite one thus far.
I am running those JBL 590s LCR and 580s for my surrounds with 530s for my hieghts of my Marataz pre driven by QSC amp rack and SVS subs. Love my JBLs for my home theater!!! At the sale prices they are an out of the park deal. I drive my mains with a qsc CXD4.3 and they are incredible at just eating the power and not coming apart.
The coolest thing was those diffusion panels. I am waiting for a X-carve do some diffusion and absorption panels faves. Can't wait!!!
Loved the idea of the motion lights.. gotta copy that one, always searching for the remote or telling Alexa (yelling) to turn some lights on just to see where I am stepping.
Love seeing what others do!!! So many ideas and projects!!!
I have the 590s in my ht setup too! Of course my room is nothing like this but 590s are great perfect for the job!
YES, the 590's are perfect for this situation.🤗😇😉
Great job youthman,, and hands up on this wonderful hometheater also...love it thks...chow
Glad you’re enjoying the videos
Hi youthman dont worry about the pronunciation so far i been enjoying this tour i follow your channel like 2 or 3 years ago and this tours just brought a new dynamic at your channel i can see how many different home theaters exist and the possibilities and how they enjoy their own home theaters no matter how big or small they are 👍
Thank you kindly Luis glad you’re enjoying the videos
No The “S” is silent in Illinois you were correct in the first place… who ever told you that is wrong!!! When I heard you say Illinois in the beginning of your videos the first thought I had was wow he’s not from there and he pronounced it correctly… nice … and now I hear this episode and I’m like what!?
🤣🤣🤣 I was duped
@@Youthman 😆
Love the home theater tours. Keep them coming.
Thank you kindly. I’ve enjoyed it but I’m thoroughly whooped LOL
I have the monolith HTP-1 and haven’t completed my setup yet . I am interested in what control system are they using with the iPad? I would like to find the optimal setup as I build my system. Thanks Yout man !
@UCbDJG3gIf2uXg-xq8Xwt8mQ Truly appreciate the response I’m am currently checking your group out and the interface you’ve suggested . Thanks 🎭
Love the setup and some of the things he did in the room for controlling the sound. I am going to look in to those diffuser panels; my room is fairly live and I dont want to over damp it with absorbers, those panels could add some scatter to help.
Having a pair of 590's in my music system, I can imagine how that many towers fill the room.
Thanks again for all these tours; I know you had a blast doing this and we all get to enjoy the ride. A lot of great ideas to pick from that most of us have not thought of
Gave me a great laugh this morning. Thanks. Looking forward to more
I totally agree with you Mike, we're learning a lot with this "home theater tour saga" 👍🏼
Great content man, thanks for sharing.
Will be sad when these are done. How was the bookcase door? Any rattling? I was thinking of doing the same.
There are a few drawbacks with the door. First, it's not soundproof, so sound will easily leak out when watching a movie or listening to music. There are only two of us in the house, so it's not a concern for us, and the aesthetics are worth the tradeoff.
Deep bass can cause some rattling, but it's rare. Having books on the shelves help a lot with that.

lol.. Awesome little tweaks and tricks for customizing the equipment and space for this one. Really cool to see =)
That's right, remember, injuries will heal but equipment must be repaired or replaced, don't knock over a speaker!;-)
Exactly! Priorities 🤣
Awesome 👏
I'll also add that as someone who grew up in Illinois there is no pronunciation of the s.
So how did the jbl’s sound? I’m a big jbl fan.
I'm looking for a 3 way tower for a large room. I like loudness and dynamic of the Klipsch rp280f and forwardness but I want a more fuller wider sound with some warmth and some sparkle on the highs something that has bottom end and mid range and can play loud 90-100db but no fatiguing high lvl listening. Somewhere between laid back and forward.
This room looks very cool.
I wish we could have seen a bit more of it instead of just the description of the visit.
I made an entire video of it ruclips.net/video/PHEaG2xKVhg/видео.htmlsi=FKlOMUtVWxzTlPBY
My friend also has the light sensors installed in his home theatre and I told him that he should do a sound bite of Billy Jean while people walk down each landing. He's the type of guy that loves the sound of that but he is just to shy to be fun like that. One of the reason why he is a 56 year old virgin. He hasn't even had a girlfriend and to my guesstimation has never even kissed a female because of his shyness.
Honestly the “Illihnoy” said by a southern Florida man sounds much more natural than forcing that s…. Many Brits pronounce America as “Ameri-ker” no ones correcting them but maybe that’s because they speak the kings English. Anyways Youthman there’s a lot of people in Illinois that claim the S is silent! So I think it’s up to you which you use!
You don’t say the “s” in Illinois
Who told you to pronounce Illinois with an emphasis on the "S"? I have been in Illinois in the Chicago area for almost 40 years and have never heard anyone say it like that Michael lol. Someone is messing with you
Hi I just wanted to know the hdmi cable you use for your home theater.
The HDMI cables are all certified HDMI 2.1, but I honestly don't remember the brands; it's likely more than one.
@@SRW1000 i looked at one from monoprice they seem pretty nice
As someone born in Illinois and who lived there the first 33 years of my life, the “s” is silent and whoever told you to add it was wrong.
Good explanation
May i ask what are your comments onJBL sk2 3300? i would get 3 of them in pretty good deal. 200 hours of listening behind.
I haven’t heard them
Youthman what color and band paint are the doors behind you.
Youthman! Will you please stop making great videos so I can have time to unpack and get moved into my new place! Thanks;-)
🤣🤣🤣 Sorry to be a distraction
@@Youthman Well, your videos are a good distraction I'll give you that! I should take a break once in awhile anyway right!
Nice chat but a sound test would have been better
I rarely do sound tests as they don’t provide much, if any value on RUclips.
Yea whoever told you Illinois has a hard (s) is just messing with you. Its silent.
Here is the bad thing about your daily videos. When you finish these, we’ll be expecting videos daily going forward. 😜. Just kidding.
Sous vide... yes 🤤
Hey Mike..I love the video's..I just bought (2) JBL 590's for my home theater.for $399 ea free shipping..I live in a trailer and ..Everyone freaks out when they come inside..I call it "Trailer Trash hpme theatre..."..I have (2) projectors, aPanasonic ptae 8000 for 1080p 3d movies, laserdiscs and video's..My main projector is the Optoma uhd 65 4k pixel shifter than blows my friends away..Saving up for the Sony xw5000.....hpw can I send You pictures of my awesome "Trailer Trash? Bill
Hey Bill that’s awesome man. Feel free to submit photos on my website at hometheatertours.com
It is without the S! I grew up in Illinois so I should know! There must be a lot of uneducated people on RUclips.
Who ever told you to add an S to Illinois trolled you. No one in Illinois says the S
Apparently there are a lot who do. We just know they are wrong lol
No no no.. its .. i-luh-noy
That’s what I said in all previous videos. I was duped
Lol, someone is punking you. There is no “s” at the end of Illinois.
That’s what I was thinking too.
90% of this video is just the presenter talking instead of actually showing us the room he's talking about.
I have 500 videos on my channel. There are plenty of “show and tell” videos for you to enjoy.
Nobody says illi noise. Whoever corrected you don’t live here.
Yes I think I was duped Michael LOL
ILLI-NOISE??? hahahahahahahaha
Ill noise? :)
No its not with an S....its ILLINOI...NO S My guy
Seems that way
Silent s it’s more like illinoy
Yes from the comments I’m seeing I was duped or they simply did not know what they were talking about.
SUCH LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOONG INTRO!!!! What a waste of time!!!!
You want some cheese with that whine? 😉
S is silent and always has been
I don’t live there so I wouldn’t know
