I was just scrolling through my subscriptions and realised I hadn’t seen any of your videos pop up in ages. Just seeing this now 5 months later, sorry I’m so late! My mum went through the EXACT same thing that you did with fibroids, so I’ve seen first hand how much suffering it causes. At 40, she was feeling incredibly weak due to fibroids and struggled to complete daily tasks without having to sit down. She had a blood test and was contacted in the early hours of the morning to come and have a blood transfusion ASAP. If it was left any longer she could’ve died and nurses were even shocked she was operating so long with such low blood count. She is now 50 and had a hysterectomy earlier this year after continuing to have heavy periods and yet another blood transfusion a few months before the pandemic. You’re absolutely right about the NHS being underfunded. She was taking iron for years but it was only a short-term solution to a long-term problem. I’m glad that the suffering is finally over for her and she can start to enjoy life again after 15 years of pain. And I’m glad you were able to get the help that you needed Oghosa. I’m desperately hoping that more money is put into women’s health. My female GP even said, “if it was men who had periods, they would’ve figured out a way to alleviate all their struggles decades ago”.

Dont mind the badminded ones! Glad you are overcoming your mental health issues. As for fibroids,they do not explain enough(doctors),but even worse are the elder aunties,mums and grandmas in the black communities who have suffered due to fibroids,from either ignorance, cultural issues(being scared of being an infertile woman etc)or blatant MEDICAL RACISM and they don't speak up to give younger ones a heads up! Google can be your friend when you need to understand something on ovary and uterine issues or better yet the sexual health clinic. As for the depression,fibroids and the bleeding can cause you to be like that,as well as having anxiety. I dont know how you overcome the pain,but im on natural medicines for most things,as I discovered ibuprofen was making me worse too,and hurting my stomach.. Sometimes science gets things wrong,especially as a melanated person
