Humbucker at neck position sounds too muddy. I don't like Gibson's creamy tone for lead solo, and i hate this tone for rhythm. So single coil at neck is the best. But for bridge position tho, humbucker is a must.
Why can’t I tell the difference lol, I don’t get why humbuckers are so much more expensive, I’ve heard they make it heavier but they all sound the same to me
I couldn't. Well I could hear one from the single coils but I can't really put it into words. Honestly buzz words like brighter, mellow, full, lively, etc... Mean absolutely nothing to me.
Me too. A lot of stuff goes over my head without me noticing but I see them holding on to ground out the hum or turning their volume pot off so they can talk. A good modeling amp can compensate for tone differences.
If you can tame the noise, you can do anything with a pair of P90s. Though I really like a P90 paired with a tele bridge.
Single coil and then Sting Ray!
I gotta go with the p90 or single coil, they work perfectly in the neck to keep it warm while also retaining brightness and clarity

Ive always been partial to humbuckers. Its a personal thing i think.
P90 is my desert island pickup.
Single coil for clean, Humbucker for distortion and I have 0 experience with p90s

I have P90, HH, HSH, Sss but for me it’s Hss all day.
Give me two split-able stacked P90's any and every day. On top of that, put a strat single in the middle for that sweet spankyness.
P90s and humbuckers sound exactly the same
I prefer the humbuckers. The sound is more to my liking
All of them sound like they are covered in blanket
Single coils ❤
Call me whatever but i could hear a difference in this video 🤷♂️
