First generation Ford Cosworth HB V8. Introduced at Paul Ricard that year. Had a pretty good power advantage over the DFR the other Ford teams were using.
That's right, Nannini had the chance to make an extraordinary career. Unfortunately the helicopter crash ended his career. But he was still lucky, he could have lost his arm. Same fate that Kubika had years later.

*Too bad about his helicopter accident. He was moving his way up. After Benneton, he'd have probably been picked up by one of the bigger teams.* *Always liked Nannini. He was in that Berger, Alesi, Patrese mold. Always pro, unflappable, knew how to hustle a car around a track.*
Nannini was killing it in the Hungaroring GP until Senna ran him over. This was truly the best era in F1. Starting with the turbo era around 1986
Indeed!
Did senna run him over at hungray in 1989?
PURE DRIVING, PURE RACING THAT MAKES ME HAPPY
The old Lesmo corners were amazing, really challenging!
Are they different now?
Still the Same
@Stewart Grindlay the second one was tightened years ago
@@davidostrowski679it was tightened for 1994

So thats a Bennetton ford?
Wow the engine really does sound calm as it does in asseto corsa
Yea, Arrows used the DFR at the time in the A11 with Eddie Cheever and Derek Warwick behind the wheel.
my hands literally starts to hurt, just watching how hard it was to handle that cars back in the day. Amazing
nearly lost it at Ascari!!
What a talent.
Alessandro,
pilota straordinario.
He was excellent with the rev matching on downshifts here.
Prefer the old Lesmo chicane over the modern one of today.
These were the True Years of F1 Drivers. Had to really Drive the Car unlike today. Where it's all pretty much Drive by Wire....

Back in the day, they had those gigantic kerbs everywhere! I guess why. Really.
so they would not cut corners like they do in 2021
Pure art.

Great stuff, though I'm not sure Nannini would say the same after that chicane

Ronco do motor e uma obra-prima...
Battle against the steering wheel to keep it on track.
Like if this footage and cockpit reminded you of F1GP2
Grande Nannini!
Save!
slide in Ascari
👍👍👍👍👍👍👍💪💪💪💪💪💪
He drove DTM car with only an arm practically
Quel joli son demoteur
mestre nanini

Será que esses caras pisavam fundo no acelerador?
there is always one cheeky mistake in nanninis laps
Better engunes , less chicanes!😁
Hes barely touching the throttle.
