I quote that 'tin snips' line all the time and I could have SWORN it was from the actual episode, but I just rewatched it and it was nowhere to be found. Had to come here to track it down; I must have listened to this commentary a lot when I was younger haha!

Starting with Season 3, the programme begins to go somewhere that makes for quality television. It's very refreshing after the incoherent mess that is Season 2.

If I could change one thing about history, I would require that Trey zoom through the remaining 16 minutes of each episode just to see if there’s anything that prompts comment. Because he and Matt are only ever directly reminded of things that occur in the first 4 minutes, and it’s often really insightful or funny to hear them react to the work itself. I just wish they didn’t skip seeing the whole *middle+end* of every episode, even just briefly scrolling through. So much goes undiscussed. I get Trey doesn’t want to ramble, but quick just see if there’s stuff worth mentioning!

Wild Wild West performed better at the box office than South Park, but relative to its budget WWW was actually an enormous flop. Warner Bros. must have been expecting a gross of $370-500 million but didn't get anywhere near that. The South Park movie was modestly budgeted and turned a healthy profit.
The way they show how amateur orchestras sound like is hilarious and very accurate 😆
24:14 I work at a movie theater and we still ID kids for R rated movies. One of my coworkers actually had to kick some kids out for sneaking into Halloween Kills when they bought tickets for some animated movie. I had no idea that started because of Columbine.

Season two is amazing, those first four seasons were pure raw gold, then it turned into a more purified gold and was definitely still amazing, even better in certain ways, but what those first 4 seasons make me feel is like Christmas.
Season two has some bangers I’m surprised they dislike it so much
It's one of my favourite seasons, that's how I remember south park, it was crazy and raw in season 2, some really great stuff

I can see why they do since there's some boring ones like the platinarium episode, but the one's that are good are really good like chicken lover and the christmas special

I think Matt and Trey weren't the lead writers that season and that season only as they focused on baseketball and the south park movie. They took the reigns back with S3.
i always catch myself making sexual harassment panda references and almost none of my friends watch south park and those that do aren't necessarily fans. so no one ever gets it, but the song is so good i can't stop. :')

I couldn't agree more with Matt and Trey about KoRn's Groovy Pirate Ghost Mystery. As a KoRn fan, this episode is my favorite and I love how they got to be goofy for this. Plus the animation style for them is amazing and also I love how it's the first time the entire world heard Falling Away From Me. And of course, Nibblet. We need him back.

Season 3 to me is one of the best seasons of all. Esp when you're high watching this still very rough animation with not fully evolved voices and yet already fairly well-defined characters is just the best. Especially the meteor night trilogy is among my most favourite of all, so much better than the Imaginationland imo

Wish they did season 2 . So many good episodes, Ike’s wee wee,chicken lover,conjoined fetus lady,the Mexican staring frog of southern Sri Lanka, summer sucks ,chicken pox, roger ebert , clubhouses, cow days, chef aid,spooky fish, merry Christmas Marilyn Manson , gnomes and prehistoric iceman.
They could have done without cow days in season 2

Matt and Trey are on record saying season 2 is their least favorite of the series, and of all the seasons, 2 had the least creative output from Matt and Trey due to them working on other projects like BL&U, and BASEketball so they probably don’t have much to say today.
They said they didn't cause the first season commentary wasn't on the DVD so they refused to make the second season. It's a shame, I'm sure they have at least something interesting to say

Anyone else found the season 2 flashbacks episode to be hilarious? Everything resolved with icecream and has aged seriously well with the shitposting meme humor of today.
No. I enjoy the concept of "Flashbacks" (kids getting stuck somewhere), but instead of an adventure story of getting back home, it's a repetitive, meandering farce with uninspired execution.
