Your a great teacher...just came across your videos this week...havent been able to stop watching....priceless information you cant get from watching most of the current gurus out there..Dont get me wrong, those guys are great...my first teachers so to speak...they helped me to get started and gave me the inspiration and confidence...but you've taken me to the next level...I wish would have found you first..i would have been a much a much better woodworker today...in the first video of yours that I saw, your demonstration using a hand chisel to show cross cutting and rip cutting gave me a deep understsnding of how my table saw blade works and why I get bad cuts sometimes. Your format and presentation is top notch, I almost feel like im in your shop taking your class. Your helping allot of woodworkers new and old, im sure of it. To make dados I like to clamp a small long piece of scrap wood to the saw as a depth stop. I use very tiny c-clamps for this. With this method I can just saw untill the saw doesn´t saw anymore and I have the exact depth I need every time. It also eliminates the risk of getting a hump in the middle of the cut. This makes work much easier and saves a lot of time, especially when I have to do a lot of cuts, and when making a rack with just 4 boards, you already have to make 24 of those cuts when you make 3 per dado.

Thank you for the methodical and detailed approach. I personally, do not have the space or money for machines, so the step by step teaching using hand tools is greatly appreciated. For example, the angle that you place the shelf at against the first knife wall to mark the second wall of the dado creates the tight fit. Or that the front of the dado and shelf is the critical part, the rest of the dado floor is only end grain so don't sweat the bumps and hallows. Seeing someone pour a thousand dollars worth of epoxy teaches little. Your gift as a teacher is so greatly appreciated.

I must tell ya, you are awesome! I have joined your RUclips channel and have watched HOURS of your videos in the past few days.
You are an incredible instructor and having been one myself, I understand the challenge it can sometimes be to talk about what you are doing, do it and all the while be thinking about what the next step on the process is and what tools you need and the measurements and - so on and so forth.
Having said that, I was watching this video on my second beer of the evening and completely cracked up at 45:33 into the video while simultaneously feeling really badly for you as I observed the expression on your face as you tried to remember what the heck you were doing next. I had to show my 20 yr. old son that part of the video because it was way too funny not to share.
I will happily continue to support your channel and will be looking for opportunities to purchase goods from your website.

In those times I hand made dadoes I always used a dedicated dado saw where I could adjust the depth of the dadoes. Those saws you can (easily?) make yourself - as a tool project.
