    Just moved from the US to the Adelaide area and I've been working on getting my resale business up and running. Learning about Aus postage, especially international postage and how to set it up in eBay, has been the most confusing part of it all. This video was extremely(!!!) helpful. Thank you so much. Hope to run into you guys out thrifting one of these days, though I'm south of the CBD so not sure we'll cross paths 🙂

    This is awesome! Thanks so much for putting that out, I could definitely give that a crack from having seen your vid :) I've just been using Pack and Send, they're even cheaper - but means sitting down with some one in their office and going through it that way. Bit of a drainer.... Thanks again

    Aussie post has crazy prices, for me to ship ie 20kg from China to Vic is cheaper than using Aussie post from QLD to Vic. I never used Aussie post as its the most expensive shipping worldwide.... 20kg from China to Vic cost me $60 b4 covid, now close to $100.

    If you opt in business policies - you can separate the listing with the postage - thus you set up first the postage policies - which then you 'link' the listing to that particular postage policy - this way you don't have to change the postage cost from listing to listings when the rates change. Note whatever postage amount specified by Auspost you need to add your eBay/PayPal fees - normally 12% is a good number.
    Combining region that has similar rates is also good - in your video - China and REst of Asia can be used with one 'region', US/Can/Europe/UK you can combined into one 'region' - of course you will use the higher rates.
    Note as well - on eBay, not sure if it change since, 'Asia' will include those countries in Russia and Middle East which is usually falls in to 'Rest of the world', if you do the mistake - buyer pays you less for the actual amount.

    • @2AussieThrifters

      Yea definitely, have recently set up some policies and has made it easier to adjust

    An added note, you can still get the Australia Post Business discount when lodging one of those handwritten forms over the counter. In your Australia Post Business account, there is a tab that says 'Send & Save', if you click that, a page will load with a QR code. If you present that code when lodging and paying over the counter you will get the Australia Post Business Account discount based off what band you are on.

    Auspost seem to increase their prices every year, so how do you deal with all your listings that are quoting a cheaper international price? Also, as eBay charges their fee based on total price, aren't you being hit with higher eBay fees?

    • @2AussieThrifters
      @2AussieThrifters  Год назад

      Yea they do adjust them yearly. We are pretty lucky that we are tier 5 my post so are still saving compared to general rates even with the increase. My understanding is they are charging fees on post which ever way you do it free post or charge, they brought this in a while ago as people where offering low prices plus high shipping cost to avoid fees

    Thanks heaps Brad! Just to confirm, if I’m sending through my post business, do they just give you a printed version of that customs form that you hand wrote on the vid? Or do you need to get a form separately? Like, is the process fill out all the my post biz stuff, then it creates the pdf label like normal (with everything international post requires) and you whack it on a normal flat rate satchel?

    • @2AussieThrifters

    Hi guys. I haven't watched this yet, but it looks extremely useful. I do have a question though and maybe you can help me. This morning I sold two boxes of the promotional glasses that Coles were offering over Christmas. My method of postage was Australia Post registered, but the buyer opted for Sendle, a method of delivery I had not offered. It came through with a form and everything. Is this normal? I don't have a Sendle account. Am I obliged to send the parcel this way? I offered freepost and it looks like Sendle is around the same price with signature on delivery, but should I be sus?

    • @2AussieThrifters
      @2AussieThrifters  4 года назад

      Cherrytree Blossom that is an interesting question. To be honest I have never had a situation like this before.
      I would probably contact the buyer and let them know that you usually use Aus post as you don’t have a sendle account. If the insist on sendle then you could look into it I don’t think it is overly difficult to use. Hope this is helpful

    • @cherrytreeblossom8475
      @cherrytreeblossom8475 4 года назад +1

      @@2AussieThrifters Thanks for your reply. I wrote to them asking them how they were able to choose that option considering I did not offer it. I also pointed out that Sendle picks up from the sender and that I am not always at home to wait for a van to pick up a parcel.
      As an aside, I guess if I end up posting hundreds per day (yeah right!) I would appreciate someone coming to the door to pick up, but just the odd parcel here and there at the moment? Ain't nobody got time for that!
