But no seriously the fishing community is overrun with misinformation. It's the anglers responsibility to educate themselves as thoroughly as possible, especially if they are passing their own knowledge onto others. Absolutely not trying to be rude man.
B-roll of a beautiful stream environment is so good for my soul. The fellow who taught me to fly fish (in the mountains of North Carolina) was famous for saying, "The fishing is great, even if the catching ain't much." The scenes from the creek prove that.

McCloud River redband trout are native to the upper McCloud River (Shasta and Siskiyou counties), a tributary to the Sacramento River.
Correct. The Trout in this video are most likely of Shasta genetics. Definitely not Mccloud.

Years ago I was stationed at Fort Riley, Kansas. I have to tell you, there are some of the nastiest fish in the waters in that part of the world. I did catch them while I was there. I’ve become a huge fishing snob I guess, I live in Alaska now, and we don’t have any of the weird stuff! The most bizarre thing that I could catch fairly easily was something I believe it’s called a shovel nose sturgeon, I could catch them with a fly rod in small eddies on this river I would fish.

Check the top side of falls for undercuts. I've saved several trips by buzzing a micro rattle trap in front of a hidden shelf. Even if they're not biting because it's low and clear, rip a lure in an arc across the current in front of them; it's like they can't resist the heavy vibration.

I'm not sure if you mentioned this but make sure your barbs are pushed down on the hooks. We have some streams by me that have a healthy trout population but guys fish and use barbed hooks and it kills them
