Once, my son netted a pretty nice walleye...when he asked if we wanted to keep it I said no. He held on to the fish and threw the net overboard. Bless his heart. Thanks for the vid, Nick!
Love this young man! Happiest guy in the world. Dont care if its 3 inches long or 30 lbs he's just happy to catch it! Not to mention the music is killer! Love from the ole hillbilly Kenny, peace!
@0:30 if the spillway is a 2hour drive then it's time for the trout River fishing video again brotha! We love that expensive river fishing 🎣 video. I honestly wish and pray to find a place like that here in southern California, God I would pay for a spot like that. I believe that's why I have always wanted to move to Montana just to live life showing people how to stream fish....
I bought a couple of those rods holders a while back and have had great luck with them. It did take a couple of misses to realize that you can’t use circle hooks.
Those Buffalo carp are called Mick Jagger carp where I come from. They're distinguishable by their lips. Catching them gives you some Satisfaction and a sort of Emotional Rescue.
We actually own about 10 of those because they work that well. If you are using more than one rod, you need one of these rod holders/self hook setters. They do work.
It's always fun to see where you're fishing and what you're catching!! Your drone shots of the dam and spillway are interesting, the straight lines and 90° angles are so noticeable surrounded by the random organization of nature.
So were you using a circle hook or regular hooks in that automatic hooksetter? The last time I used one over thirty years ago no one was really using circle hooks yet for freshwater fish.
I bought a couple after watching this but haven't tried them yet. Seems like they would miss a lot of fish, but then again maybe I miss a lot of fish because I don't pick up the pole in time. So from reading a couple of comments here I've learned they work on short poles, in calm waters and not well with circle hooks. Thinking of trying them with small treble hooks and dough baits.
Haven't used a net in over twenty years. I've had others net my fish but most of the time I have lip grippers or if it's a bass I just grab it by the mouth.
Love that you like trying new things. Looks like you found a quality fishing gear the automatic hook setter. Awesome video will always tune in to watch.
2nd time watching the video. I had mentioned to my wife that I would like to get one of the automatic hook setters. That was awhile ago and I’d forgotten about it. She surprised me with two for Christmas. Thanks for the videos, otherwise I might not known about them. Not to mention I enjoy the heck out of them. They give me something to watch during the winter when I wish I was fishing. Lol
I love these shows I look forward to watching them every Thursday I just wish they was a lil longer and more than once a week but that's the only complaint I have keep up the good work
I have seen something kinda like that device called a "yo-yo" but it had it's own like spring loaded spool of line that would set itself when bit. I'm sure you've seen that thing.. but what you have is better because it's a rod holder... hook setter...thingy. You know what I mean man haha. Hey man I'm wondering if it's possible to dial the force needed to set off the device up and down?? And maybe a neighborhood of price and where you got it?? Anyway I really liked the video and I would have been taking 2 channel cats home to filet and fry bro. Great video bud.👍
I did sees this gadget on the fishing store and i know what it meant for but not many places around world that makes this thing practicality is worthwhile because like in my place country, the coastal and estuary are had few hazard like drifting logs and even trash in any giving time, also it not useful if the current tide and wave is fast. I think it much fair in a river or in maybe if the rapid wave and tide in the estuary is slow. Anyway, this is just my opinion on the gadget. It could be both useful in fresh and saltwater just depend on several factors to use it wisely.
Ive been watching 618 fishing for a while, theres been times where i watch religiously almkst and otheres where i dont watch for a while but i always come back, and never to be disappointed becuase of the great quality of the content. Keep up the great work Nick
Sand and polish the triggers on those fish catchers and they are much better about being sensitive… I’ve had them for years and at first hated them cause they would never tip till I sanded and polished those triggers, now it trips ever hit

Better than what the call em in the south…
Ninja Lip Carp sort of to keep it rated G
I use something similar ice fishing called a jaw jacker. Works awesome.
Is this the first video you have put your current PB for a fish when you are checking for a new PB? That’s an awesome addition to the videos.
The punishment for being a bait thief is harsh 😂

That lil drum never had a chance skipping across the top of the water 🤣🤣🤣
I bought a pair of those, eventually I just shut off the mechanism and just used them as regular rod holders
Enjoyed the content Nick. Thanks 👊🏽👊🏽👊🏽👊🏽👊🏽

It's always fun to see where you're fishing and what you're catching!! Your drone shots of the dam and spillway are interesting, the straight lines and 90° angles are so noticeable surrounded by the random organization of nature.
Love the video, would love to see you do some lake fishing
So were you using a circle hook or regular hooks in that automatic hooksetter? The last time I used one over thirty years ago no one was really using circle hooks yet for freshwater fish.
I was using j hooks! Thanks for watching!
I used them automatic rod holders a few times. Pretty good, but only for calm waters and 5-7 ft rods only.
Big and small catches and seemed like a great fishing day for sure! Have a fun and safe weekend dude. Take care Nick! See you next adventure!
Great video Nick! Those auto setters work great. Cheers
That second catfish was perfect pan size
Haven't used a net in over twenty years. I've had others net my fish but most of the time I have lip grippers or if it's a bass I just grab it by the mouth.

4:00 yellow jacket on the catfish
That poor catfish had a giant yellowjacket land on its face. Probably still telling his buddies about it.

I've just landed in Florida an seen Gar's in the pond behind the villa. What's your advice in catching these? Bait or lure?
That's an awesome contraption! I see it being very useful on future adventures.
LOL did anyone see that wasp landing on the channel cat’s whisker 4:00
Do you have a link to the auto hook setter?

Great video Nick and it’s safe to say, automatic hook setter was a success 👍. Rock on 🤘 😎
