Rip Richard Forrest Betts, you will be missed
Gone to the Blue Sky.
"Jessica" ..... still a wonderful song - journey- adventure after 50 years. RIP Dickey...
One of my favourites. RIP Betts.
What a legend. He's with his other brothers now
Rest in peace
Give a listen to High Falls from Win, Lose or Draw. The Allman Brothers were a part of my young teenage years that I will always remember. Rest now, Dickey and friends. ❤️ Thanks for the joy.
My condolences ❤❤❤
A guitarist in the finest Southern rock/roll band that ever took the stage...what a gig...
It seems a lifetime ago, early 80's, I had the chance to meet Dickey in a well know guitar shop in Nashville. It was the day I purchased the guitar from which I take my handle, a 1964 Strat. I was playing it and looked up to see him walking in. I stopped cold. As he walked past, he gave me a compliment and sage advice in one sentence. "Don't stop man, you're not bad, but don't give up the day gig." Thanks Dickey, I still have the guitar and no, I didn't give up the day gig! RIP Brother Dickey.
Wow man , you are blessed
I’m memory of Elizabeth Reed
I had many great times at Allman Brothers Band concerts in the later 90s and 2000...Red Rocks comes to mind....before he was booted from the band. Awesome one of a kind voice and guitar style. RIP
Brothers and Sisters must be one of the greatest ever rock albums
You will not be forgotten,RIP.
Dickey’s composition ‘In Memory of Elizabeth Reed’ live version from Live at the Fillmore East, has his and Duane Allman’s best solos in my opinion. They both start calmly then build into frenzies that are spellbinding and melodious. I’m gonna put that masterpiece on repeat all night long. In memory of Dickey Betts. RIP old buddy.
Loved his music. Unappreciated pillar of the Allman Brothers.
Thanks for the music! RIP
Rest in peace Dickey , I will continue listening to your music til the day im gone.
Beautifully said...
